This has been one of the most emotionally draining and frustrating experiences I have ever had with any company.
Throughout my total loss claim, I faced long delays, ignored voicemails, and poor communication from multiple adjusters and supervisors. I was even spoken to in a disrespectful tone and was hung up on while simply trying to get answers. Even after I involved the California Department of Insurance, the responses I received from Fred Loya felt vague and inconsistent, offering no real clarity or resolution.
What upsets me most is how disconnected and disorganized the entire process has been. There is no urgency, no accountability, and certainly no transparency. I have been without a car since March, paying out of pocket for transportation while waiting for the next steps that never seem to come.
People often choose this company because of the lower monthly premiums, but I can confidently say the savings are not worth the stress, anxiety, and high blood pressure I have endured. No amount of savings makes up for this level of neglect.
What's even more upsetting is that this company operates in many predominantly Spanish-speaking communities, where people may not always know what questions to ask, may be misinformed, or simply aren't given the full picture. I worry that many are being misled or taken advantage of, and that's devastating to witness—especially when it's your own community.
Please read the reviews. If I could go back, I would choose differently. No one deserves to be left in the dark like this.

SCAM COMPANY! We were hit by a driver with Fred Loya insurance. It took weeks to reach anyone and two months to get our vehicle back from the shop. At that time, they informed us that they do not cover the rental (that they set up for us!) except for the days work was physically being done on our vehicle. They told us it was 'their policy,' even though they had nothing in writing online or any documentation they could email us. At that moment, they told us it was a verbal policy and if we felt we needed the other 40 rental car days covered, we should hire an attorney to reach out. Then they said they didn't have any information for where an attorney could contact them. This is a joke of a company.

They should have a ? rating, because he!! doesn't have a rating low enough for them. No matter how loyal you are as a customer, they are gonna treat you poorly. No matter how reasonable you are, they are gonna talk to you like you did something wrong. No clear explanations, no call backs, go ahead and ask for a supervisor, ask for Fred Loya himself, it doesn't matter they don't care. They're just gonna pass the buck. You are gonna be so upset by the pure ignorance of it all. I'm so shocked by my experience, that I vowed to find every platform I can to WARN hardworking, sound minded humans to AVOID this lowlife, low budget GHETTO unorganized cartel.

A driver they have insured to them hit me and won't answer the phone to tell his side of the story. They say they can't accepted my claim due to him not answering the phone. Police report states there drivers admittedly take blame say he illegally revered his vehicle to hit mines . Now I'm out my car n have no transportation.

Trying to collect from Loya as one of their insured drivers caused and accident that damaged my car. Can't get thru to claims department, just sit on hold. Email claims no response. Call the local agent and they only do sales. They owe me money. All I see are crappy reviews for Loya. So glad I have a good insurance company. Don't ever use these people and hope no one with Loya hits you or you will be screwed. Can' leave zero stars but zero stars

WHY do I have to call THEM to ever get a response to anything?? They were pretty quick to accept fault that their client rammed me from the rear. Getting my car repaired was relatively easy BUT I should have known there would be an issue somewhere! I picked up my car from the body shop and returned the rental on October 3rd. I submitted, via email, my final rental receipt (with a copy of the bill from the body shop documenting the time the car was in the shop) to my adjuster, yet no one responded to my email. Today I called and spoke to my adjuster to inquire about the status of my rental reimbursement on my personal credit card and guess what - she had not even opened the email - from two weeks ago! Really- WTH!! Now I have to wait for them to "verify" with the body shop before they will issue my reimbursement. Why can't they look at the bill I sent them from the actual body shop that has those dates??? I will not even go into the problems with the personal injury adjuster who has miraculously stopped responding to my emails. Mind you, my medical bills were not that expensive considering I had already met my out-of-pocket deductible. All they really need to do is reimburse me for time missed from work plus whatever lowball amount they come up with for pain and suffering. Well, guess what, that pain and suffering is increasing due to their inability to quickly resolve a small claim. I did not think I needed an attorney for such a small amount but it looks like I was wrong!! sigh!!

This company has the the worst people in making decisions as to common sense from car accidents. The problem is they don't want to pay out ! It's so dumb to have people in your CC company that do not know what's common sense but u have to look at the city where they are from ...Who in the right mind has this adjustors making decisions!!!! Ask to submit rating . They do not fall in between 1-5 they at the bottom of the barrel 0-zero.....

The worst insurance ever!! Take it from someone who has had them for a year. They take years to respond, Nubia was my adjuster and NEVER once had contact with me throughout my claim. They would take maybe a week or week and a half just to respond to my collision center. Just HORRIBLE ALL AROUND! Don't do it.

I gave 1 star because I had to choose something and negative 8 was not an option. This is the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. I am not a customer of theirs; however, I was hit by one of their customers. I see now I will not be able to deal with them, I need to get a lawyer. I called them 8 times, 8! 3 of those I was hung up on. I called back asking for a supervisor and was told by 2 reps that a supervisor was not available. Robin rudely stated to me,"Do you want your claim filed or not?" Then she hung up in my face, never giving me my claim number, which caused me to have to call back. I asked James for the number to corporate, he did not know it. I told him thanks, I would look it up because Google knows everything. I was hit, my truck and trailer damaged, my horses traumatized and me in pain, yet this is how a company treats someone calling in to file a claim? I would not recommend Fred Loya to anyone. They state they record calls, well after I was hung up on so many times, I recorded my last two calls as well. In pain, hurt, no vehicle, traumatized horses and this is the customer service they offer. They should be ashamed!

Fred Loya's insured, carelessly smashed into my car. Fred Loya admitted its insured was completely liable. I filed my claim. Thereafter Fred Loya refused to provide written claim-related information. This led me to obtain my own estimates from reputable collision repair businesses. They shared their refusal to do business with Fred Loya. They relayed Fred Loya's failure to pay legitimate claims or Fred Loya's unreasonable extended delays causing negative impact on customers. When it comes to doing business and serving the best interest of his own insured and those who file legitimate claims, Fred Loya's business practices fall at the very bottom. Better Business Bureau gives Fred Loya an "F", a complete failure. The Wallethub reviews from Fred Loya customers and others who have had to deal with Fred Lpya reflect that Fred Loya is rated at a low 2.4. This certainly emphasizes a HUGE RED FLAG that says: "STAY AWAY FROM FRED LOYA" and "NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH FRED LOYA". In my personal experience, I have found Fred Loya to be extremely unethical, clearly dishonest, and pays attention to and will only communicates with those who owe Fred Loya premiums. When it comes time to pay up a claim, Fred Loya applies such delay tactics as making the claim check payment to an unrelated person, or misspelling both my first and last names, further, refusing to respond to written requests for necessary documented information, never providing the documented justification for their ridiculously low estimates and offers and verbally refusing to communicate via email or other written correspondence. Fred Loya made it clear to me: "We just don't do email". A rating of "1" is just too much for what I believe is a business that operates with such corrupt, lowly, disrespectful, and dishonorable business practices. Dealing with FL has been the worst and most distressful experience. it's unfortunate that the ratings do not allow a minus 100. It is completely remarkable and unbelievable how such a business as Fred Loay continues to exist. Fred Loya reflects the worst of the worst.

Just like everyone else, I can’t say a single thing positive about this scamming company. How are they allowed to sell insurance that is sub par at best? Their hours are wrong on the website, they do not have 24hr help, refuse to VERIFY POLICY info over the phone. And if you ever get through, they won’t call you back. They will underbid your estimate and not pay you on time, if at all… what a total scam company. No reputable body shops will even deal with them… wow.!.!.!.!

Don't ever buy car insurance from Fred Loya Insurance. Worse yet, don't ever be hit by one of their insured drivers. I was hit by one of their insured drivers running a red light. I had two other witnesses and traffic cameras to prove what happened. The Fred Loya driver was cited by the police for running a red light. After two days of frustrating calls to Fred Loya I was instructed to take my vehicle to a local F. L. office. A girl came out and took two pictures of my car. After another two weeks and many more frustrating calls (not answering, on hold, not returning calls) and after personally sending them a copy of the police report (which they couldn't get?) they sent me a check. I soon found out that collision repair shops (I checked 3 different shops) did not want to touch my vehicle only because it was covered under a Fred Loya claim. I was told of the difficulty dealing with them and low-balling estimates. I then contacted my insurance company and put in a claim. I took my car into the first collision repair shop on their list (one that previously refused me under the F.L. claim) and was now treated with respect. After one business day I was given an estimate that was nearly three times what F.L. had given me with the check. I went without a replacement vehicle for a little over a week but then realized I needed another vehicle because of some childcare responsibilities. I expected the worse and that is what I got when I called Fred Loya. After being on hold for 25 minutes and then talking to a girl I was told they don't have any agreements with car rental agencies. Really? The only thing they could do would be send me a check. The check would be for ONE DAY, $48.00! This is for the time they estimated it would take for the repair. I elevated my call to the girl's manager but got the same. If you read reviews of Fred Loya it is one horror story after another. It is rated 1 Star but that's because you can't give zero stars. Don't give them your business. And write not only reviews on the BBB website and other sites but report them to your State Attorneys General Office for bad practices.

Their insured was 100% responsible. It took weeks to get an appraisal. After repairs were done, they are refusing to pay the difference of when they supposedly issued the check to the collision repair company and when the company received the check 10 to 12 days later. Total scam
