This service is deceptive. I had both experian and creditCheck Total accounts both were drafted under experians name I each canceled both and still got drafted $29 from creditCheck Total for several months after and they will not refund.

This company sucks on a major level! I signed up for the free trial. Called daily for 5 days to cancel, on the phone I’m told to go online when I go online I’m told to call! Never able to get in touch with someone!! When I input my info, I’m told we don’t have a membership- yet my account has been charged twice for membership that we supposedly don’t have!! So ironic they are set up to prevent fraud but scamming people on a daily basis!!

I chose 1 star, but I would pick 0 if the system let me...WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I signed for the free trial but during the trial I called the number on their website to cancel. After inputting my personal info and following the prompts to cancel, the automated system says I’m not a member, goodbye! I thought that was weird, so I tried several more times, trying different prompts to get to someone. Nothing, kept saying I’m not a member and disconnects the call. I then emailed them to document my efforts to cancel and request cancellation. I didn’t hear anything. Fast forward to today, my credit card gets charged with the monthly fee!!! I try to call the number again but same thing happens, gets disconnected. So many people complained about being put on hold...I wish I was given the privilege of being put on hold! I’m not a member but I am getting charged like one!!!! Seriously! I even tried to log into my “account”...figuring maybe there was a different way to contact them from my account page...nope...couldn’t log in because the system doesn’t recognize me as having an account! What?! I screenshot that message and sent them another email...again asking to cancel. And stop billing me. That’s where I am...stuck. I’m not a member but am being charged for the service that I don’t want and worst of all...can’t access even if I wanted to!!
I need a lawyer. Any reccomendations for a consumer protection lawyer?

Signed up for 7 day free trial. Immediately called and canceled and followed up with a letter (same day) from my attorney advising them to cancel. Received email notice account was cancelled. Was billed anyway the following month. Had to have my bank do a 3 way call with them (on a totally different phone number which credit check total won't provide where we could speak with a human) and the reversed the charge and said account cancelled. We'll see if I get billed again next month. Feels like they pretend they won't charge you and just hope you don't notice when you get charged.........very scam feel to this company

When I called the number to cancel it was an automated system and it canceled my free Credit Works Basic EXPERIAN FICO and reporting account NOT my Credit Check Total membership.
If you want to cancel you can call Experian (I didn't know it was a product of Experian), get a hold of a live person and tell them you need to cancel Credit Check Total Membership and give them your membership ID.
I only realized this confusion after reading another person's post on myfico.
I also responded to their welcome email and said I wanted to cancel. They did respond within an hour saying my membership was cancelled. Because of this I will give them 3 stars but honestly, had I not read that post on myfico I would have assumed calling the number they gave did indeed cancel the credit check total membership.

I think the scoffers of this site is the ones that want a free credit report for $1 then quickly cancel. I found CreditCheck Total to be an actually great site. It gives the actual FICO 8 scores and does so once a month. My problems with the site was that drop down menu's wouldn't work. This is due to using the Chrome browser in a Chromebook. The Linux based system has issues with the sites metrics. I was able to get someone on the phone immediately to help. We tried a few things and after a while the agent said that Experian.com had the exact same setup for $5 less. I had signed up for Experian CreditWorks for $19.95 a month, but canceled when I had to wait 3 months for a FICO update. But the Experian CreditWorks Premium is $24.95 a month with daily Experian score updates and FICO scores on all three once a month. Plus they monitor all three for changes as well as your ID monitoring of everything from SS number to credit cards and bank accounts. After all the searching, I have found that Credit Karma gives me Transunion and Equifax free once a week, Experian CreditWorks Premium gives a daily Experian update, and WalletHub gives a daily Transunion update. These three do it all for me, and I do use Credit.com just to see my Experian VantageScore 3 score. All for $24.95 a month with ID monitoring and scores on both FICO and VantageScore at least monthly if not daily to keep abreast.
Hope this helps.

Please, whatever you do...DO NOT sign up with this website! Because the phone number listed on the website is incorrect. I had signed up for their trial period for a $1 and when I called to cancel my membership I could not get through. You don't have to take my word for it. But if you heard good reviews about this site I would advise you to call the number listed on the site before signing up.

Signed up to view my scores for( $1 for 7 days and $29.95 then after) and I was able to do same. However, when attempting to cancel my membership on the website, it stated " If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can call us to discontinue your membership and stop the monthly billing. However, you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of your current month's paid membership fee. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at 1-877-284-7942." I called the number and followed the prompts to cancel and it consistently refers be back to the site and I've tried other options and I am unable to get a live customer service rep to aid in my cancellation. Misleading company. Want my membership cancel before the 7 days expires.

I just signed up for Credit Check Total today (April 3, 2018) and decided to call and deactivate my account after I obtained the information I needed from my reports so that I won't be charged once the free trial is up. I called the number and selected cancel membership, but the automated system told me to log on to experian.com for more information. I then decided to call back, but this time I selected a different option (it was along the lines of credit questions). This option allowed me to connect with a representative to cancel my membership. In addition, a membership confirmation was sent to my email. I hope this helps others moving forward.

F. This. Company. I signed up for the free trial to look at what they had available for their fancy credit services, and my payment info was required in order to do this. I provided it and started the trial membership period and did not want to continue so I tried calling, and calling, and calling, and CALLING, AND CALLING and sent emails and NO ONE RESPONDED EVER. I was CHARGED for a month of service that I DID NOT WANT AND TRIED TO CLOSE AND I DEMAND MY MONEY BACK. THERE IS NO WAY TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT YOURSELF. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

It is practically impossible to close one's account, so be prepared to spend the day on hold. I regret ever having signed up for this service. Try Myfico.com instead, I've had far better results there.
