I don't know where these reviews are coming from because I find their customer service to be one of the worst I've ever had to deal with. I have been attempting to make payments on the car that I purchased, and they keep sending the payments back, not cashing them. I've had to cancel checks which had automatically been sent out previously with no issues. Now they act like they're receiving no money at all, and this is really starting to upset me. Every time I try to explain the situation, including with my bank representative giving them the check numbers and all pertinent information, they still act like they have no clue as to what's going on. Furthermore, they call me daily, 3 to 4 times a day, and each time I speak with them, it's as if they have no record of the previous conversations. I would rate them zero if I had the opportunity. If you are reading this, do not do business with GM Financial.

Although I have used GM Financial for many years, never missing a payment or having a late payment, this time they would not approve me. Why? I will never do business with them again, never.

If I were able to, I wouldn't give them any stars. I had gap insurance, and because they didn't use gap insurance to cover the rest of the payments, my car was totaled, and now it appears on my credit as if it was repossessed because they haven't resolved the issue yet! I am filing a consumer complaint and dispute not only against the gap insurance company but also against GM Financial for falsely reporting on my credit.

The most terrible, unorganized process ever. They lost my title. When I try to call, they give me the run-around and say that "the department that handles titles does not take customer phone calls." My car is currently impounded, and I can't get it out until I get my title. They told me they would fax it, and it took five days. Then, on the fifth day, they said they can't fax it and will have to mail it, and it will take 5-7 business days. A total unprofessional mess. Good luck getting decent customer service. Zero stars. The supervisor's name is Stephen and he is terrible as well.

Paid for a warranty, used the GM roadside assistance, but they couldn't deliver fuel to me, so I paid out of pocket. They told me I could get reimbursed if I sent in the receipt and explained what happened. I did everything I was supposed to, and they had the audacity to say that the receipt wasn't good enough? It had everything they needed, and they still denied me. Don't go through them. They will rip you off.

Set a cashier's check to receive the title. Sold the vehicle. Then, three months later, I was contacted and told that they lost the check or damaged it. They made me repay, and now I'm on the hook for twelve hundred dollars' worth of late fees and interest. It was not my fault that they damaged the check. I will never buy a GM product again.

My wife and I experienced a house fire, and GM Financial was uncooperative. The truck was purchased from Pinkerton Chevrolet in Roanoke, VA, It started having popping a ticking sounds noises in the frontend and a faulty drive shaft. Pinkerton has been unable to identify the problem and now refuses to address it. GM Financial was not helpful in resolving the issue, and neither was GM Motors. GM Financial reported late payments to the credit bureaus because I refused to make a payment which resulted in my credit score plummeting from over 700 down to 565. A lawsuit is forthcoming.

The reasonable resolution to this matter is simple: GM Financial must immediately remove all negative and inaccurate reporting from my credit file and waive the disputed $500 lease termination fee. I made every lease payment on time and was told at vehicle turn-in that I owed $0. I am willing to discuss a good-faith solution, including paying the $500 only under a written agreement that all derogatory credit information will be permanently deleted. However, GM Financial’s actions constitute clear violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and deceptive business practices. Because this false reporting has already reduced my credit score and prevented the purchase of multiple rental properties worth millions of dollars, the resulting damages far exceed $500 — in fact, they are measurable in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

First time using them, but I had a card that expired and added another one; it took payment off both. Trying to get a refund is not happening; do not accidentally pay twice, as they will not give refunds. They took money in 2 seconds, they should refund just as fast. I've been waiting 2 weeks.

Terrible company. I made a payment and they never processed it; it was marked as missed. Recently we received a repossession letter demanding the full balance. We called and were told to disregard the letter. We informed them of our financial hardship and made a payment of 700. Next thing we knew, our car was repossessed. They claim we haven't made any payments, and now it's on our credit report as a full balance.

Not only did this place fail to notify me of hidden late fees, but they also failed to communicate the existence of such fees or send notifications, leading to an accumulation and ultimately having a car repossessed due to a lack of communication regarding these fees. This is a horrible company, and unless you want a company that hides things from you and fails to communicate, I would take your business elsewhere.

GM finance is an excellent source to finance a vehicle. I've purchased several GM trucks over the years. Even in dire times, if an unforeseen incident hinders your ability to keep up with payments, their finance department/agents will go above and beyond to help make arrangements to keep the note in good standing. I highly recommend GM Finance.

Excellent customer service. Online services are easy to navigate. General Motors is #1 among auto lenders and will meet your financial needs. They supported my not-so-good credit, allowing me to secure a vehicle with a monthly payment that is manageable in these difficult times of inflation. Thanks, GM! I just made my second year of on-time payments.

I got a loan with a 549. They were awesome to work with and have been the whole time. I think you need a new dealer more experienced in working with GM. THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT the issue. Good luck!
