Michigan Legacy Credit Union

The manager, Jillian Archer, is extremely unprofessional! She was rude to me when I filed for bankruptcy. She also sent a man to my home to pressure me about my debt. He left notes on my family's door regarding my debt. I was told that's illegal. Then she told me I still owe them money even though I had filed. They sent me a bill after my bankruptcy was discharged last month. I really don't want to speak to her again. I'm just going to report her.

The staff is rude. They charged late fees (less than 30 days) of $25, which was added to the back of the loan, and charged daily interest for years. Since I paid automatically, I never went online to check my balance and had no clue I was being charged daily interest for years. This accumulated to over $1,200. Some of these charges were actually during COVID when mail was delayed. No one ever notified me or gave me a heads-up. The manager at the branch, Kelly, stated that it was in the fine print of my contract. I am so disgusted. Life gets busy; I never realized I was accumulating all this interest. I spoke with different staff over the years, and no one brought it to my attention. I received a bill and paid the bill; no additional fee was added to my bill, and I never looked at my account online since it was automatically deducted. There was no compassion or understanding from the staff. The manager literally tried to embarrass and humiliate me. I paid every month; sometimes it was late but always there by the end of the month. I am not perfect, but seriously, trying to humiliate me is awful customer service. I would never recommend this bank.

I wrote a check on March 3, 2023. I admit in writing the check out I made a $100 mistake. Went back the next day and and corrected it, even though my receipt said the correct amount. It is now June 20th, and this check just hit my bank. The rental account I made it out too, cleared it March 5, and the 100.00 on March 6,2023. In the middle of this I was also moving. Keeping up with several different financial areas. Knowing my check had cleared I never gave it a second thought. My landlord released my security deposit etc. I was in shock that this came out of my account this week. How did that credit union balance for March, April, and May 2023. I should not have assumed the check had cleared because my previous landlord had no problem.
Called my bank they explained they just received it. Called Michigan Legacy they could not help me, because I wasn't their customer. Ok so I had to get my previous landlord involved. I will tell you now if she had this happen on her end it would have been straightened immediately. Wonder how Michigan Legacy would like it if she closed her accounts.
I am a senior and constantly watch my accounts, even more now. What a shoddy company. I don't know if you can take a Credit Union to court, but if I could I would. This situation should never have happened. Karen Williams

This place has the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with in any financial institution. They absolutely will not work with you, they treat you like absolute crap, they’re rude and very Condescending. I have been with them for ten years and they treat you with no respect. I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone! Beware. Go to another credit union for your banking needs.

Just good service from the company. Worked with us to get a payment date that worked better for our budget. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a auto loan.

no rewards, no bonuses, terrible customer service! I had the card 3 years never missed a payment or late payment i asked for a credit increase and a new card(mine had expired)they gave me a hard inquiry and opened a new account only 500 increase on a measly $500 limit. Then dropped my score by 30 points for using.
