I'd rate lower, refuse to work with me I'm low income I've tried getting a payment plan they refuse no one will work with you terrible company all around

Disputed claim due to duplicate collection attempts by the same company for the same amount, which is a violation of FCRA rules. When it was removed, Procollect resubmitted the collection, falsely stating it was the original creditor.

Wish I could rate lower. They claim I owe money for an apartment in North Carolina, but I have never lived there. They said I needed a fraud police report, so I obtained that and sent it in. A year later, I am still receiving collection notices and am treated poorly when I call. I absolutely believe they "didn't receive" the police report because there is no money in proving my innocence.

Pro Collect does not exercise due diligence prior to taking action — it seems like they only do what their paying client asks them to do. Throughout my many conversations with them, they did not seem to listen; they just seemed to read from a script.
I have provided detailed information about the charges and my reasons for disputing them.

Put false information on my credit report and refused to remove it when I disputed it - marked it as 'paid' when I have never even spoken to these people. Would give them negative stars if I could.

Not my account. Been fighting/ disputing this for years. They keep reaging this Account stature of limitations expired. In Texas. Never paying what is not mine.

They are acammers. I do not owe this anything on this account. They make up false information and put it on your credit. Complete scam artists

This is not an accurate bill. It is completely fraudulent and I have proof, so I will make sure this gets removed off my credit. Also, how in the world does this company pull off putting this twice on my credit? With? No not happening. See you in court! I can't wait!

Wasn't really helpful and will not let me make a payment plan. Very rude and really didn't want to work with me. I need a payment plan in order to pay it off. I lost my job during the pandemic and couldn't pay my last month rent.

They put something on my Credit Report from November 2022 and said it was already being litigated in court. The Original Debt was from an apartment complex in a city I used to live. But I never lived in that complex.

There is just one problem with their claim. I have been in Asia, for work, since 2018. I have a Passport that shows I have not even been in the USA since 2018.

I don't think they made the debt up, but they buy debt for Pennies on the Dollar and apparently, someone got just enough information about me off the Dark Web to sell them bogus debt. I think they need to review whomever they buy these things from. Also, it is supposedly debt from 4 months ago. Usually, they get debt that is years old. I don't even think they got debt from the original source. Where I never lived.

Nobody even tried to collect this from me and it is supposedly in the hands of attorneys now? In 4 months? I don't think so.

They must know they bought bad debt and they are trying to get a court judgement ASAP to legitimize the fraud.

I have already disputed this with the Credit Reporting Bureau and they removed it within 1 hour.

Sorry they bought bad info but it isn't my problem.

Update 3-28-2023

I contacted them and got a collector 3 times. When I tried to offer proof of misidentification, they hung up on me each time.

I contacted the original creditor (who was very helpful) and they have no record of anyone with my name. She referred me to her corporate office.

I called them and they have record of someone with a name that sounds like mine but spelled differently and with a totally different middle name.

So I called Procollect with this new information and asked to speak with a Supervisor. The Supervisor and I agreed that I should E-mail my ID.

I was reluctant to give them any more information to change their records in which to facilitate stealing my Identity to continue the fraud. However, I did so on good faith.

2 Follow-up emails get no reply.

Questions I have now is: 1. How did they get my SSN? And 2. What SSN, exact name, and signature is on the lease? The Apartment Complex does not have any information of anyone with my name and the Real Estate Corporate Office does not have anything but a name that is similar but not the same as mine. They claim they gave (Sold?) all other information, including the lease, to Procollect

It is really odd when I have to chase a collection company down.

Identity theft is a crime and I would like to know how this happened and who is responsible?

I suspect they will try to sell the fraudulent account to another Collection Agency.

BTW, get a Credit Monitoring Service. Or I would never have known.

Pro Collect keeps harassing me about a lease they say I broke. I'm certain I didn't but they can't give me proof I did. They contacted me the first time 2 years after I moved from those apartments.

Old and inaccurate information on my credit report yet company still refuses to remove from my credit report. I've had a very difficult time getting inaccuracies removed from my credit report. It is very frustrating!

Well we have paid this debt off and 3 months later still showing open - need it closed out as I did my duty to pay it off as promised
