I like it, but you don't get an answer back from any of the sites, and I just need to know if I passed and to whom I would give the money. But none of them tell you that, so it's okay, but it's hard to get any response.

Rent Cafe has not been very helpful. I put in my criteria, and all I get are listings I cannot afford. I get maybe a couple every week, which are the same from the week before. If I do see one I can afford and go to apply it shows the unit is not available. I just wish I would not get so many listings that are out of my reach.

Apparently, no one works in customer service, as they have never responded to any issues I have had and deleted Instagram posts where anyone calls them out.

This is the first time that I've used a site like this, and boy, you talk about easy. Thanks, RentCafe.🤗💯 I looked at a few places, but when I saw The Fountains at Hidden Lake in Crystal River, I fell in love with this place that I can call HOME!!!!

Rentcafe would be perfect if it stayed in my search area instead of going back to the default area every time I was done looking at an apartment complex & making me have to re-enter all of my search criteria all over again... So frustrating

I haven't experienced any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. However, I have only been using the app to search for rental listings so far.

Whoever they hired to code their operation needs to go back to school. These people don't even allow residents to submit their own tickets for issues within the app. Why, and what purpose does that logically serve?

I was hacked, and I believe it was through RentCafe. I have one credit card and my bank debit card saved on their site. RentCafe is the only place that has access to my bank debit card. I use PayPal for all online purchases, but RentCafe does not use PayPal. Therefore, I had to use my bank debit card. I have been attempting to contact RentCafe, but they have not responded to me regarding this issue. I found a phone number for Yardi and contacted their tech support, and they told me it was my management's responsibility to look into this problem. I then reached out to my rental agency, but they were unable to investigate this breach. I signed an agreement with RentCafe, and since they hold my personal information, it is their responsibility to protect it. I am now out over 90 dollars because I have low vision and must pay for a taxi to drive me to the management company to pay my rent. I chose this management company so that I could pay my rent through the internet. Therefore, I must move because I cannot afford to pay someone to drive me every month to pay my rent. I don't trust them; they refuse to assist me in this matter. Oh, and they won't allow me to delete my personal information, and I have no way to communicate with them at all.
Update: I also filed a complaint with the BBB. The response that I received from Yardi, which is the company that owns RentCafe, said that RentCafe doesn't save any of your information. This is not correct; both of my credit card numbers are saved to RentCafe. There are little boxes that you check if that is the payment method you are using that day. The numbers are automatically put into the system; I do not put in any numbers. So if Yardi is correct, how does the money come out of my bank account if no bank account numbers are put into the system? They don't just magically appear. So Yardi is either lying or they do not understand how their own system works.

RentCafe charges a fee for non-bank payments and then doesn't support many banks. If only there were something like a routing and account number that literally every service out there could take and handle.

Do not use this website to apply for an apartment! They charge you at the end of the application the application fee and deposit, which is $265.00. I canceled my application the same day because I changed my mind and even spoke with a lady from the complex, where she assured me the application was canceled. Two days later, they deducted the $265.00 from my account anyway, and I have been trying for 2 weeks to get my money back. I called the number attached to the transaction on my bank statement, and they will not answer or respond to me. I was told I would have a check sent from the complex, but I haven't received it yet. I have sent emails and left voicemails asking if I can come to pick up the check with no response. I now have to go to the bank to get my money back, which will be a longer process, but I am not going to just give them free money for something I canceled in plenty of time.

Awful. Nothing but roadblocks. In my eight years of property management experience, this is the worst leasing software I've ever used.

Rent Cafe is a perfect example of a "monopoly," meaning that the U.S. network of property management companies have collectively chosen to rely on an outside vendor to provide the most basic contractual procedures when renting an apartment. Imagine, Rent Cafe presents itself as a comprehensive do-it-all/do-it-yourself tool. Everything from poor service to glitches is never the responsibility of the management companies to explain or correct; "It's the vendor."
However, the real issue with Rent Cafe is not its consumers, who are often trustingly giving personal information ranging from Social Security numbers to income details. Its consumers are not the actual individuals awaiting significant, life-affecting results. Instead, its consumers are the management companies who distance themselves from responsibility with a big grin and remarks like, "Oh well. We don't see it, we can't change it, we haven't received it," etc.
Only very careless and/or thoughtless rental property management would contract a company such as Rent Cafe which consistently receives one-star ratings from those who use it because there is no other option offered to renters.

This service is horrible, similar to Comcast Xfinity. It does not work, causing endless frustration and anxiety. Why are so many companies so poor in quality? End this monopoly so we can have better service, or any service at all. RentCafe, I despise you for ruining my day repeatedly.

I've had problems with RentCafe from Day 1. Actually, from minute 1. I loathe this website. I don't think the software engineer even received a proper education in coding. I've had to make an account like three times, and the one time I need to access this website to pay rent once a month, the website is down. As I am typing this review, the website is still down. They should pay my rent for me for all the trouble they've put me through.

Constantly down when rent is due, which is the only reason most people ever use it—they have to pay rent with the site, especially when their property forbids cash, etc. What on earth?
