The absolutely rudest people with absolutely no compassion for disabled individuals. I spoke to four people today simply to pay off a loan, and I was totally disrespected by all of them. I'm going to go to a higher-up.

Beware of Truliant's Fraud Department, Corporate Office Customer Service, as well as the branches. First of all, I was told by customer service to file a claim on two merchants, only to be told all sorts of untruths, and my claims were never reviewed. They were not received from Visa; they just closed and ignored the claims that customers file. There was also rudeness that comes with being a member for 7 years. I will not be dealing with a credit union that can't take care of their members' issues and cheats them out of their money with their lies. They just closed my account because of their poor service, and I do not intend to reopen the account with them ever. They can stop sending me invitations to vote for the board members who just sit around for a payday—not from me. They won't get a vote of mine, especially with the issues I have experienced with them as a member for too long.

I have been a member for years. Suddenly, I receive an email informing me that my account will have a $7.50 maintenance fee, and I can't do anything about it. After weeks of going back and forth, being ignored, and having to send repeated emails, with my name even being misspelled, there is literally nothing I can do about it. I am closing my account and moving to a different bank that actually offers free checking and communicates with you. I am dissatisfied with Truliant.

Awful customer service. I went grocery shopping on my payday, and Truliant blocked my card and declined my purchase, thinking it was fraudulent. It was for $89 worth of groceries from Food Lion. It was a humiliating experience. I had to ask someone else to buy food for my children so they could eat dinner. The customer service is rude. Susan in the Customer Care Center needs coaching on how to be more professional. She was unprofessional and unpleasant. Do not put your money in this bank because they will block your access to it without explanation.

Have used them for 25 years now. Checking, savings, direct deposit, and also an HYSA, which has a competitive rate. Never had an issue with anything. No longer is there a branch in my area, but there is a list of nearby credit union branches where I can do everything I need.

Saw an ad for insurance services and, new to the state, inquired further. The process was pretty nice until I had to terminate my auto policy due to financial issues. I made a series of calls, both to the call center and to my broker; I had to switch to another carrier, called in May before the payment was due. My policy was not terminated until I called AGAIN on June 3rd. Truliant also didn't explain verbally that there would be a fee if I switched. I am liable for a full month's premium plus a $94 termination fee. Truliant, at the very least, should be responsible for the monthly payment of $167+ because they totally dropped the ball.

I've been trying for almost a month now to find out an answer to my questions related to a deed transfer into my LLC. The loan officer who originally helped me with the loan keeps making promises that he'll look into it, but fails to answer basic questions like: Is there a processing fee? Do they need to pull my credit? Do I need to refinance the loan, etc.? Still waiting, and trying to reach out to their customer service took me into an endless loop of disconnected calls and "transfers" to departments that put you through the answering tree trials and tribulations until you get disconnected and give up. It feels like amateur hour working with these folks, and I've had numerous loans done before—this is not the way of doing business, and I will look long and hard before doing business with Truliant again. This is a generous two-star rating.

Myra Bruggman was difficult to work with. I would not trust her. She constantly had excuses for not being able to do her job or would simply refuse to answer.

Stay away from Truliant. My father, a Truliant member, passed away, and we needed to close his account. After three months of emails, calls, and scanning all required probate information, the final step was to have my mother answer questions about account activity in an account to which she had no access. Unable to answer the questions, they compelled me to drive my 80-year-old mother two hours to the nearest branch to present the same information and close the account. Lisa, our last phone representative, was rude and callous. This lack of support after the death of a loved one placed my family in a terrible situation to endure.

I rarely leave reviews, however, I felt compelled to today. My local branch is in Kernersville. Tim Murphy that works there is absolutely amazing. I walked in today and he called me by my name! There are not many places that remember your name. He is always so friendly when I go in. The entire staff in Kernersville is amazing. But Tim needs a raise! He is great! Thank you to the team in Kernersville for making my day every time I go in there!

The staff at my location are very friendly. Though no fault of their own, the bank placed a nine-day hold on a check I deposited since I'm a new member, which I understand, but nine days?! I went to PNC Bank with another check I had, since I now do not trust to deposit any other check with Truliant, and got my money within two business days, being a new member at PNC as well. Some of us have bills to pay and a family to take care of. I understand maybe five to seven business days, but nine is absolutely ridiculous.

Picked the wrong bank. First Friday of every month, we pay all of our bills and groceries for the month. After about $600 worth of transactions, they locked our card. Went to pay for a $300 order at Sam's, denied and embarrassed. Went to get gas to get home, denied. My wife tries her card to buy the kids a bite to eat, denied. We have over $5k in the account. Luckily, we have not started all our direct deposits and our Bank of Amercia card was with us. Truliant branches are either closed or pass the buck around. One said there is no way to stop this. Well, there is, stop banking with Truliant.

How long were you with Truliant FCU before the transactions were denied? If still a new member, or it was like 100+ miles away, maybe in another State, I could see this.
But I’ve never seen it take 9 days for a check to clear, even through the holidays. Maybe you should have deposited with your smartphone instead. It’s also important if changing phone numbers and/or going on a trip, to let Truliant know a day or two ahead of time.
Still, I’ve not had issues with either & have been a member-owner for 7.5 years. During which I’ve always been granted & grateful of the services I’ve asked for, including an auto loan now paid off (over a year earlier than contract terms).
Why not go into another local branch and see what could had caused your issues? Hope the best for you!

Got a question about your credit card? Tell your dog. It will be just as effective as trying to get satisfaction for your issue through their staff. I've been a customer for more than 30 years and I am seriously considering changing banks. They are so incredibly incompetent in that area.

Terrible bank. Someone hacked my account, deposited two fake checks, Truliant cashed them, and then put my account in the negative by $2000. Their fraud department said they're not going to help me. I paid the negative amount off, and they refuse to give me the rest of my money or open another account so I can get my money out. Stay away from this bank at all costs.

Abysmal auto loan company. Their representatives tell you that you cannot make a payment over the phone, and their instructions for making an online payment are inaccurate. You need a membership ID, which is not on your bill and which they won't provide. You need to call a different number to obtain it, as well as the account number which is also not included on your bill. Avoid at all costs!
