This has got to be the worst rebrand in history. For one, it looks like a cheap candy store front that uses red dye 3 in everything. Northwest on its own was so much better and didn't need to be changed. TwinStar has ruined this credit union all the way through. Ever since the changes, nothing mobile has worked, and nothing stays put; my login information, facial login, listed accounts to make payments from... There was no good reason to stress everyone out like this. If it's not broken, don't fix it. I wish they'd just go back to Northwest Community Credit Union without TwinStar. Thinking about moving my money to Rogue since it's more local.
Also, the reviews here are so old, that's the ONLY reason they still have a 3-star rating. Everything recent, like the last 5 years, is nothing but 1 star... this is a 1-star business.

Hostages Receive Better Service. If you have an old coffee can with a lid that leaks to put your cash in, and a mildly aggressive alley cat to guard it, you will be better off than banking here. This is unquestionably the worst bank in existence. I am among those who were adversely affected by Wells Fargo; this place is worse. I have lost track of how many times digital banking has malfunctioned. They misplaced my mortgage payment twice. They impose fees upon fees, with little traps ensuring that you have to pay them. Today's issue is they paid a bill scheduled for January 5th on December 31st, six days early. Consequently, they had to transfer money to cover it and charged me for doing so. Then there wasn't enough money for the next bill either, because the one from the 5th was not due yet. So they moved more money from my savings and charged another fee. My own money for a bill they paid almost a week early? They once did the same thing 10 days early. I had this payment scheduled because I was supposed to be traveling and did not want to forget. But I will never do this again, as they claim to offer bill pay, but you can't really use it if you're on a budget. I get paid on the third and had arranged my payments according to when the money would be in my account. They just do what they want, acting as though it is their money, and we're bothering them by using it. They are rude and incompetent. I am switching banks this week, despite it being an enormous inconvenience. It seems as though they are attempting to fail. It is that bad.

I just paid off my car! Never missed a payment; I actually paid three weeks early throughout the term of the lease. As I was nearing my final payment, I saw a charge of over $3k still owing. I learned that a third-party service that Twin Star uses decided I was not insured for a period of time, so they provided coverage and charged me for it. I sent proof I was continually insured the entire time, but Twin Star is not accepting the proof they received. They are pushing it back onto the third party they hired. My contract was with Twin Star, not with the third party they hired. I can't get Twin Star to respond to emails, and a phone call is over an hour just to get a person on the phone. I'm now going to have to look into an attorney as I do not owe this balance, and Twin Star is not providing my car title. A totally unsatisfactory loan company. Avoid at all costs!

Bought a car at a dealership in Burien on 01/10/2024. We had pre-approved financing. For some reason, the dealership ran our credit through four other sources. TwinStar Credit Union was one of them. They were the only finance source to decline us. With credit scores of 815 and 812 (per TwinStar's rejection letters), Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase Bank, and Capital One all accepted us and made offers of auto financing there at the dealership. We went with the bank that we were pre-approved with. They had the lowest APR and the best terms, significantly lower than what the dealership said they were seeing on TwinStar auto loans. The rejection letters we received had reasons listed for the decline that did not seem valid. We outright own our home and haven't been declined in many years. My sense is that TwinStar is not a very good credit union. BECU is certainly better.

Put a ghost charge on my card, and the "customer service representative" proceeded to tell me about the supposed site's functions, like a sales pitch. Then, after I practically screamed at him that I didn't recognize and had never used that service, he shut my card down. It's a total setup. I'm calling my credit union on Friday to let them know exactly what I think about their merger with "Twinstar" and to go into greater detail about what happened. I'm completely at a loss for rent and other bills thanks to them. There are shady dealings there.

Closed my account and called it fraud after my account was overdrawn due to some financial difficulties and unemployment (automatic withdrawals for bills occurred before I could cancel them). I was actively making agreed-upon payments as soon as possible. I talked to them and they agreed to work with me, as I had been with them for over 10 years with no prior issues. Be careful, they don't understand that life can sometimes take a turn for the worse, and they will lie and slander you. We will be pursuing legal recourse regarding this matter. A similar situation happened to a friend of mine as well.
They are quick to label anything as fraud.
Twinstar is quick to disregard your efforts and communication; throwing you under the bus regardless of your commitment and history with them. Long-term members, who again, have had no issues in the past, mean absolutely nothing to them.

I've been a customer of the credit union for some years now and was Offered a high limit credit card with credit transfer to transfer my balances promising %0 apr through my personal email I have my checking account with them and was denied likely giving me a hard inquiry on my credit. Will be closing my bank account with them asap and would not recommend them for any services. The advertising was very misleading if you are a customer you won't get any extra consideration for approval. Experian just notified me of a 25 month inquiry

Hand down the absolute worst organization to do business with. The level of incompetence is astonishing. Provided proof of insurance and declaration paperwork on the day we purchased our new RV. Received notification from TwinStar about a month later they never received proof of insurance. So, my wife sent them copies of proof again. Still received notification of no proof received a month later. At around the same time I received a notice in my name wanting proof of coverage for some other RV we don't even own. I called TwinStar to inform them we don't even own that RV and told them the make and model we do own. They rep said yeah sorry that happens often due to some internal issues and she would get that corrected. I informed the rep we have provided proof of insurance a couple of times now and TwinStar is still indicating they have not received proof. She apologize and stated she would have someone email me a fax# to fax proof to. I received the email with the fax# and promptly had my insurance company fax proof again and received confirmation it was received. Then two weeks later we received a notice from TwinStar they were adding their own coverage to our RV loan due to not receiving proof of insurance. The notice indicated our RV monthly payment would increase due to this. We then provided proof yet again and then received a response they need proof for specific dates, which we had already provided previously. We will NEVER do business with TwinStar again.

Twin Star will force their own insurance on you claiming your deductible is high and don’t meet the requirements but you will find that out when it’s too late and you already owe them thousands of dollars. Stay away from these scammers!!!

This bank is good for you if you never leave Washington. They charge $5 for out of state transactions. Freaking ridiculous. Only used for online purchases. Also their app - even after they updated it - is absolute trash

Most times I never thought of a banking institution as anything other than just a place to keep my money, right? How wrong was I. Some banks like many institutions are forward thinking. They know to hire good, trustworthy, thoughtful, kind, intelligent people to represent them. On June 25th I had an unexpected pleasure of meeting such a person who worked very diligently to help resolve a somewhat sensitive banking matter of mine. So happy that Twin Star have such a person who has all those attributes and then some. His name is John Jentzen, Universal Service Officer II, who has my sincere gratitude!!!

Been with TwinStar for a good number of years (Almost 30) . The relationship all along was near nonexistent, of course I dont keep much money in there, nonetheless , I've never had anything even remotely negative either. Today I recieved a check from uncle sam for 200.00 with both mine and my wife's names. My wife signed it, and I went to deposit it, they promptly declined it since I did not have her ID. I had to pull the wife out of work early so that she could show up with her I D. Then to add insult to injury, they finger printed her. I guess long term customership means nothing to this credit union. Then when I said that I'm moving to a different bank, the teller just shrugged it off. So if you are looking for outstanding service, twinStar will not deliver.

Customer service is terrible... Had questions as to why my FIXED RATE car loan payment was changing each month. Some months 5-10 dollars more, some 5-10 dollars less. No one could tell me why, they just said its "normal"... I made a mistake with my car insurance when I first made the purchase and my coverage kicked in a few days late. They charged me a fee of $800 and added it to the balance of the loan. The loan payment went up about $100 a month on a $25,000- 7 year loan. I called and they said it would go back down in 8 months... 10 months later, it didn't, and there is no explanation. at this rate, if I were to keep the loan with them, I would end up paying $8,500 for being three days late with my insurance in the first month...

I have always had great service from twinstar. There are no hidden fees and I always know what my balance is. I like how simple it is to manage my accounts on the mobile app.
