Capital One Car Loans

Capital One has been fantastic. I've had several auto loans, and most recently, I financed a new Blazer with GM Financial only because the longest term offered at that time with Capital One was 72 months. Six months later, I looked into refinancing it with Capital One, and they beat GM Financial's rate, so I went back with Capital One, mainly because they have been outstanding for the 20 years I've dealt with them, and I felt more comfortable with them. Thanks again, Capital One.

My mother passed away and I had power of attorney, so I paid off the loan amount to sell it as part of the estate. Now the company is trying to repo the vehicle. I made numerous calls to the company, only to get an overseas person whom I couldn't understand. I asked to be transferred and was hung up on 3 times. Then I spoke to somebody in the United States who just hung up on me again. Do not use this company.

Terrible, the worst thing I ever did was get a car loan from Capital One. OMG, it's the worst, plus the interest is super high. And I put $7,000 down, so yeah, I'm so upset and angry with myself for this decision I made.

They are quick too take your payments but drag too refund your money. Was charged twice for my car payment Friday. Called Saturday when payment was posted they claimed refund was processed. 2-3 days. Wednesday I call too check up and they said another 1-2 days. So stupid by that Friday I will already be paid by my employee

I obtained a loan for $20,024 back in May 2023 for a 2017 Hyundai, which is worth about $10,000 or less today, and they are claiming I now owe $19,266 after over two years of payments on the loan. This is for a car that has engine and other issues the dealerships have ignored, prompting me to file lawsuits. I have called them many times, only to be told that their AI system keeps track of the loan, and the amount is correct due to the type of loan. They also harass me every single day with phone calls and threatening emails. I have a 10-day grace period, and yet they contact me during this period. Then, on day 11, they start calling from various numbers. They used to call my 15-year-old son's phone often and leave messages too. I found out today that they reported me as 30 days late, dropping my FICO credit score by 24 points, when I paid on day 29. I only paid because I realized I had not sent the demand letter for the lawsuit I am filing against them, but it was still paid before 30 days. This company lacks integrity and honesty, and I will never do business with them again. I have one credit card with a $500 limit and two bank accounts, which I have emptied. I am closing every account and warning everyone I can about this company. This is the worst car experience I have ever had.

Capital one has been absolute nightmare.
Sent the 10 day pay off and they waited 9 days to process everything. Because of that I had to make an additional payment to avoid a hit on my credit and/or a late fee. The last payment was made on May 24th and now it’s August (still no refund). Each time I call something new or different has come up. I’ve been lied to on every single call I’ve been on with capital one. I’ve filed claims against them through BBB and CFPB. I honestly don’t know what else to do. Capital one should pay late fees and interest in situations like this. They are simply withholding money from people. There a ton of other reviews like this that they keep changing the dates on when we should receive the refund. Will not do any business in the future and will not recommend to anyone. Liars and thieves!

My car loan was, in fact, paid in full, over $28,000, in January of 2023. However, I've had multiple negative credit remarks on my credit report beginning in March of 2023. Despite having to fight with Capital One to correct the wrongful remarks repeatedly, they have just recently, in July of 2025, finally marked my credit report correctly as "PAID IN FULL ON TIME."
So, I'm not very pleased with Capital One.
