Truist Mortgage Rates

Truist has a scheme for underestimating the escrow to keep hiking the mortgage payment up. They manipulate the taxes by using the previous year's taxes instead of the present year's, leading to a consistent shortage. Then they spread the shortage over 12 months to increase your mortgage payment. If they used the current year, they would know precisely how much you need to pay, and it would be covered by your escrow without any shortage, preventing them from increasing the mortgage payment.

I tried to log in on a Sunday and received the following error: "Security verification is currently unavailable. Please call Truist online support for assistance." When you call the number provided, no assistance is available, nor is any live person available to help you log in. I absolutely used the correct username and password, used dozens of times previously. Avoid Truist, at all costs - the service is nonexistent.

Every month, I get locked out of my online account and have to call to get it resolved or reset. I have to give someone in India or who knows where all of my information. This is insane! Shame on Truist Bank. I will never use them for my personal banking, that's for sure. I am only forced to use them for my mortgage since my loan was transferred or bought out.

The UI and customer service are awful, and there is no help at all. We updated our homeowner's insurance, and instead of using escrow to pay the "currently due" older 2023-2024 insurance, they decided to pay in full for the 2024-2025 insurance, which wasn't due until next year.

We are only forced to do business with them because our mortgage was bought out, but if I had a choice, I would stay far away from them.

Archaic system that is extraordinarily client-unfriendly. The web portal is available to make changes to information, such as mailing addresses, but these changes are not uniformly applied to all accounts, including mortgages. There is no possible way to know that changes have not been applied, and therefore, all mail correspondence will continue to be sent to the original address. I have been trying to get this corrected for a month. Even though Truist claims to understand that they have made mistakes, they will do nothing to expedite corrections. Even something as simple as sending the necessary paperwork by overnight mail rather than sending by regular mail.

Pretty awful bank; I have been lied to by customer service and customer service supervisors. They have made statements about other banks that I also bank with, claiming services don't exist at any major banks, when I know for a fact that other real major banks do offer the services that I was trying to take advantage of through Truist. Just plain out shady; they are not there for their customers.

Most difficult, stressful, and ignorant process. Very disorganized. Every time you give information it's never enough. It's like jumping through hoops and backtracking. They give you an okay on something then want to go back to it. Endless cycle. Rude underwriter. Perfect credit scores, great funding, and nothing negative in your portfolio and still an abusive process.

I have tried numerous times to set up an account online, but I am not able to do so. I tried calling them for assistance but have been unsuccessful. They were supposed to send me a temporary passcode, but none arrived. Very poor customer service!

Awful customer service and support. Their automated teller system is junk and takes 15 minutes to get a hold of a person who then has to ask you all the questions you already input into the system.

I agree with the one-star rating. It took one hour on the telephone to correct the bank from which my mortgage payment should have been auto-paid monthly. I stopped the payment from one of the banks because it had been sold, and I closed my account. I informed them of the change in writing, as they would not allow me to do it telephonically or online.

Despite having sent a letter, a document, and a canceled check directing them to withdraw from the new bank, they did not withdraw the auto payment from the new bank and account. The website is hideous. To add to the problem, they charged me a $74 late fee because they did not make the auto-pay. Trying to do it online was not possible.

The employee in the Philippines could not help me. I was transferred to someone in the USA. It took one hour to set up the late payment. I was told I could not set up recurring payments until my late payment went through, and I would have to try online again to set up the payment as recurring. I still will have to fight the $74 late charge. How long will that take?!

Stay away from Truist!
