A while back I received a reimbursement check of approx $30 from another bank/account. My husband came across this check in a basket pile, Mistakenly, I had not thrown out. He did a search in the account, did not find where been deposited, and so decided to deposit it - Also with the thinking, it would just be kicked out if I already had. About a week later while picking up Rx my card is decline. After calling the bank I learn my account has been locked. I received no text, no email, no explanation - nothing! I’ve spoken to several customer service reps, all telling me something different. The last rep told me it’s a 7 day wait before a review occurs. However, if any checks are deposited into the account, the 7 day wait starts over. What!? Like a weekly payroll deposit? Which takes a couple weeks to change. When I voiced my concern about not being contacted regarding any of this, the response given was something along the lines …. We would have to employ the entire state to be able to notify everyone. Yes! It’s called customer service!! When asked to speak to a supervisor I was told one would be calling me back. Never happened.
I understand there are people out there who commit fraud.- even over $30 apparently. I also understand people make mistakes. Sometimes seeing which is which shouldn’t be that difficult. So at this time I have auto payments, bills to pay, etc, yet everything is being declined. For how long? THAT I still do not know.
If you are looking to be treated like a number…Truist is the bank for you. If you want to risk account block without notice or explanation…Truist is the bank for you. If a place where not given opportunity to explain simple error … yes, Truist if for you.
UPDATE: Since first posted, Truist unblocked my account - although still having issues with PayPal account linking to my bank. And so..I’ve added a star..possibly another if fully resolved. I did have to call back to learn about the changes - No notification/call. I was told in situations involving checks you are not notified until after the 7 days, when investigation begins. Apparently, this was moved up due to my numerous calls explaining the situation. IMO, customer service and procedures need some revamping.

How do you redeem SunTrust rewards?
You can redeem SunTrust rewards for statement credits, deposits into a SunTrust bank account, travel purchases, gift cards, or merchandise by logging in to your SunTrust account and navigating to the rewards redemption section of their website. You can also redeem rewards through the SunTrust mobile app or by calling the Rewards Redemption Center at (800) 255-7125. But if you redeem for travel over the phone, there's a $25 service fee.
SunTrust has three rewards-earning consumer credit cards, all of which accrue so-called “Cash Rewards credits” at different rates. You can start redeeming for cash back when you have the equivalent of $5 in Cash Rewards credits saved up. And if you redeem credits from any SunTrust credit card for a deposit into your SunTrust checking, savings or money market account, you'll get a “Loyalty Cash Bonus.” The bonus could be 10%, 25% or 50% of your redemption, depending on the balances in all your SunTrust deposit accounts. Higher balances mean a higher bonus.
There are differences between SunTrust's rewards cards when it comes to redemption, though. For example, the SunTrust Travel Rewards Credit Card will get you a better redemption rate on travel than the other two SunTrust credit cards. And cash redemptions into a SunTrust deposit account are always worth more than getting a normal statement credit.
As for the merchandise you can get with your credits, SunTrust has quite a few options: high-end sunglasses, Amazon gift cards and branded merchandise, event tickets, jewelry, handbags, FitBits, and more. If you don't have enough SunTrust Cash Rewards credits for an item, you can always use a combination of rewards and your credit card.
If you have any trouble redeeming your rewards, call SunTrust rewards customer service at (800) 255-7125.

Plus, you can earn 5 miles per $1 spent on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 2 miles per $1 on all other purchases.
What rewards do BB&T credit cards offer?
The BB&T credit cards offer rewards in the form of cash back and miles, depending on the card. The earning rate varies as well. For instance, the BB&T Spectrum Cash Rewards Credit Card offers 3% cash back on gas, 2% cash back on utilities and groceries on up to $1,000 of combined monthly spend, and 1% cash back on all other purchases.

How do I check my SunTrust credit card application status?
You can check on your SunTrust credit card application status by calling (800) 477-9702. Follow the prompts to be connected to a customer service representative who can help you with your inquiry. SunTrust will also send you a letter letting you know if you were approved or denied.
If your application is denied, there's still some hope left. Call (800) 477-9702 to ask for a reconsideration by explaining your particular situation. If that doesn't change the issuer's decision about your denial, consider becoming an authorized user on someone else's account.
