This bank has been a nightmare to work with since day 1. They held to 20% on our 80/20 mortgage on a home we purchased just before the real estate bubble burst in 2007. Wee sold in a short-sale in 2012, and 1st American didnt get what they wanted from the primary lender, so they have been punishing us. They ‘help’ by refinancing the loan high-interest balloon loans every 5 years. They show no compassion for unemployment issues, serious financial strain, nor anything else - they are downright rude. They lied to our real estate attorney in the short sale process and have continued to do so. Through a debt negotiator we were able to reduce the amount owed, and we are paying a ridiculous amount each month, yet these payments are not reflected and they are tanking our credit. I have filed a formal complaint with the States Attorney for predatory lending practices. Do not trust this bank!
