USAA Federal Savings Bank Mortgage Rates

We have been with USAA for 51 years. We took out a mortgage several years ago. The agent assured us that even though another company would be servicing it, USAA would back us if we had any problems. We believed them, as we had trusted them all these years—big mistake.

They sold off our mortgage loan and refused to have anything else to do with it. When we had difficulty paying online through the automated phone system, this other company offered no option to speak to a live agent—very questionable. USAA refused to help us, saying it was no longer their loan.

It doesn't seem as if they are carefully screening the companies they are selling off to; they certainly didn't for the company they sold our loan to.

USAA lied to us. One agent told us only recently did they decide to sell off their mortgage loans; another agent said it was in the fine print, even though I specifically asked and was told they were not selling the rights to our loan.

Beware when considering taking out a mortgage with USAA.

When my family bought our home 6 years ago USAA insured us for the property. Every year after they told us they could no longer insure because it’s a manufactured home. But just like when we bought the home they in the end said it’s ok because it was installed on a permanent foundation. Finally after 6 years they decided that they should never have insured the property and cancelled our plan. Our mortgage company would never have approved a mortgage on a home that can’t be insured for the value of the home. So now Because of this disaster of a business we are stuck with a half million dollar mortgage that we can’t insure. Thanks USSA I regret the decades of payments I’ve made to you for all of my insurance needs.

USAA sold our mortgage twice already. Now it's under some shady "Mr. Cooper." You lose any easy way to pay (still unsure where I go) and go through some shady company. Makes me feel like my house will be sold from under me. They're more and more like the military. Constantly messing with you.

They are a great bank and have always taken care of my banking and loan needs they don’t always have the best rates for loans but you always talk to a person when you call and fix the problem

I’ve been with USAA for 20 years. I have banking, personal property and auto insurance. I got a quote for homeowners insurance but declined it in favor of a less expensive option and informed them. They charged me anyways despite never being told to do so. It took a BBB and FTC complaint to get them to cease. Since I have banking with USAA, they had taken the amount out of my account. After the issue was squared away with the agencies they refused to reimburse me, making the unilateral decision to keep the money for next pay period for my auto insurance. This has made me change to Navy Federal for banking and being looking elsewhere for auto insurance. They know they were wrong and still decided to keep what they stole. I will never recommend them to fellow veterans ever again

USAA has always been good to us. I see no need for another bank. Loyalty is important. If you can join the USAA family, I highly recommend it.

Very efficient and trustworthy…very understanding of the military community and extremely accommodating. Closing was seamless and.

My ex refuses usaa insurance because they are terrible. She works in mortgages and says that usaa is the worst company to work with. They make home loans over complicated and expensive For veterans. I’ve been a member for years and my insurance is more expensive than most for my good record.

I don’t believe that they should be able to advertise for military when they take everyone and anyone that had a great grandfather that broke a hip in basic training and got out. I feel the company is providing false advertising and should be held to the same standards as the military if that’s what what they advertise.

I will not buy my next home with usaa because of their lack of care for vererans. And the slack of customer service I have received over the 15 years of my active duty service
