I would like to let people know about the genuine help that was offered to me when I was purchasing a truck out of state. I was concerned about the terms of the loan, and Mr. Ortiz was so kind in calling the dealership and going the extra mile. He was there to walk me through the process when he was concerned that I was being taken advantage of. I was seeking an AFCU loan, and he was so professional in all aspects of his assistance. The doors are opened, and you are greeted by an employee who is able to direct you to the office of service that you need. It is a friendly and comfortable environment. I recommend them for any of your banking needs!

Really wish I had read the reviews before picking this bank. I'm almost finished with this auto loan and thankfully the funds have finally been deposited. However, everything has been nothing but issues. I swear not a single person working for this bank has a clue about anything. The amount of times we've been told "yep everything is good to go" only to be told just hours later "nope we still need this from you" even though we'd already given them the required documents, is absurd. I opted for this bank because somehow the rate was better than USAA, but now I almost think I'd prefer the higher rate.

Customer service people are completely unhelpful. I had a mishap with insufficient charges. They threw the book at me. Absolutely no understanding for my situation.

I unfortunately got a loan through this company and have had nothing but issues! I would never open an actual bank account here. Poor customer service for sure!

Never obtain a loan through AFCU! They have repeatedly made errors with my account, including adding fees and increasing my payments without any notifications or contracts. All of my payments have been made on time, and my vehicle has been properly insured since the day it left the lot. Nonetheless, they added a CPI fee of $2,900, raising my payment by over $400 a month. Even after acknowledging that they lost the copy of my insurance, they did not remove the entire fee, resulting in my monthly payment still being higher than it originally was! I have never missed a payment and have always paid early. They add fees without any advance warning—no email, no text message, no letter in the mail. It is the WORST credit union I have ever been with. I will be refinancing and will never return. I will advise everyone to avoid this institution!!

They are doing well working with you on your auto loan! If you don't go over three months past due and show effort in trying, they will work with you to keep your loan.

Very misleading. Please look elsewhere when shopping for a mortgage company. I signed a mountain of papers in good faith, only to find there were things in there that one day would force me to sell my home. High PMI fees even when the loan was approximately 60% of the value.

BEWARE when you do business with the new branch at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, AR. My own personal experience (back in February and March 2024): you have to double-check their work. They made mistakes by messing up my address and sending other people's mortgage papers to me. The manager, Ian, came to collect paperwork with a poor attitude, as if he was doing me a favor. Finally, I had to complain to the higher authority in Little Rock, Tiffany, who was much more reasonable. I hope they will seriously care about their reputation, since they have put on TV ads for a while.

I have banked with them since I was old enough to have an account. Twenty years later, I am interested in crypto trading, and I tried to link my crypto bank account to AFCU. The next day, my account was locked online for possible fraud. Consequently, I cannot log in to check my account or pay bills online, or link that account as I originally planned. I called them and spoke to the help desk; they said it's under review. Eight months later, it's still locked... I went into a branch, and the representative argued with me that there was nothing wrong with my account. I suggested we try logging in with the computer on her desk: the account was locked. Then she tells me we can call the help desk; that's when I left the credit union.

If the credit union reads this, maybe call the customer if you suspect fraud? Perhaps a manager should get directly involved when a customer of over 20 years talks about leaving. I tell everyone to stay away.

They tell you to have your income tax refund deposited into your account and it will arrive early. Lies, lies, lies! They are no different than any other institution in this regard.I should have let it go to my prepaid card and I would’ve gotten it earlier

I refinanced my truck with AFCU and, months later, the original lender informed me my truck payment was overdue. I contacted AFCU, who assured me they had paid off my truck with that lender when I refinanced with them. Consequently, I disregarded the lender's notice about the late payment. Months later, the original lender threatened to repossess my truck. The same month, I paid off my refinancing loan with AFCU, but they could not provide me with the title because they had not paid off my truck, as promised. Eventually, they sent the full payment to the original lender and I finally received my truck title. However, the original lender filed a delinquent account notice with the credit bureaus, and my credit score suffered a 200+ point decrease. AFCU apologized but said there was nothing they could do to amend the situation. They were also unwilling to submit a statement to the credit bureaus explaining that the failure to pay off my truck was their mistake. The entire ordeal lasted almost a year. Unfortunately, due to AFCU's negligence, my credit score sharply declined and they seemed indifferent to resolving the issue. I would advise against trusting them for banking and loans. Don't endure the same troubles I faced.

Very incompetent,they will try and say you missed a payment if you pay early before your due date and then you will have to do a bunch of unnecessary explaining and talking to managers which makes me feel like they're trying to get over on me because I always have my receipts. They've done this one too many times and it's very frustrating for a person who already has anxiety.

My account was hacked and it was a scammer . They reviewed the case and gave my money back. I had a lot of charges that hurt me. I had to wait 15 days or so to get it back. Then a month later they took the money back out of my account. Now my paycheck went in and 2 weeks before I get another check, my account back in the hole again. And of course they charged me again for non sufficient funds. This whole ordeal has cost me so much I now will probably start losing everything I own. I have a disabled child that has to do without school supplies and food for 2 weeks

I have checking, investing and loans through AFCU they have been absolutely professional every single time. Very courteous, helpful, and professional. West LR, and NLR have been great. Better interest rate banking than most banks and lower interest rate for loans.

Any review of this clown show greater than one star is a paid endorsement. AFCU is the worst banking institution I've ever done business with. No customer service, no call backs or response to inquiries. I'm not sure how they remain afloat? Would absolutely not recommend.
