Dealing with what the AACU calls loan officers or processors, like Cory and Filly, is a prime example of how not to run a respectable operation. It's as if they are attempting to set a record for the most incompetent mortgage department. The people who answer the phone seem to be running around in circles; they are untrained and unqualified. Then there's the process where you fill out the form online because the department doesn't want to waste time filling it out, but they end up wasting four times as much to correct all the information put in the wrong spot. Then comes the 30-minute ordeal trying to locate my application, only to find out they titled it incorrectly or filed it in the wrong folder. The staff is the worst part of this tragicomedy rude, slow, fumbling through the chaos. And in the end, they denied it, claiming I was not eligible, causing me to lose my home after wasting seven weeks attempting to refinance. You can see where this is going. Don't open an account here. It's not fee-free checking. Any complaints are disregarded, and branch banking is very limited, making them very difficult to deal with. Bellco is much better.

I would like to give a sincere thank you to Frances Tiger of American Airlines Credit Union. She was very instrumental in helping my son and me obtain a mortgage for my son's condo. When three other lenders said no because his length of employment was less than a year, AACU said yes. It was a pleasure working with Frances. She was attentive to my son's issues and worked really hard with her underwriters to get this mortgage approved. She made the process easy and AACU came through in the clutch. Anyone who works for American Airlines and is looking for a mortgage doesn't have to look any further than AACU. Again, Frances was amazing and she made this process easy to accomplish. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Frances and everyone else that made this happen for my son. We are truly grateful!

Do not open any accounts with this company!!! The manager named Jose Arais is very rude, disrespectful and is unwilling to work with customers. This company closes accounts without any formal notice then keep the account active, so they overcharge their customers high interest and fees! AA needs to do better and train their leadership team to be better! Banking with them is basically wasting money and time! If I can give negative stars, they would be the first company to ever get one.

I woke up this morning all my money was gone out my account no pending transactions for the amount I don’t have overdraft on my account but all my money gone and my account is red.. I really hate this bank I will never Recommended bank to anyone. There is no way a person money should be going out of your account on a Sunday.

Seeing a few negative reviews for incidental banking woes that always come and go. I've been a member since 2014. The flexibility and competitive rates offered by AAFCU have been nothing short of an asset to my financial life. They offer multiple savings accounts to help organize your financials toward your specific goals. On average, this credit union has been great! Of course things go wrong from time to time but the costumer service out in Dallas is made of REAL people, from the U.S., and they're very helpful.

I established my AA Credit Union account initially as a Crewmember for AA. Deposited $5 in my savings and left it, then they introduced a No Foreign Transaction fee credit card. Having decent/average credit I applied and was approved! I began to do more business with them as they proved reputable. I opened Checking and Line of Credit accounts with them. Using them for my everyday bank has proven efficient and reliable. Their standard of security meets or exceeds most national banking standards as my card has been involved with a huge batch of cards compromised from a merchant reported breach. AA Credit Union has allowed me to travel the world without extra annoying fees from credit card transactions to bank ATM fees. They reward you in dividends each year for having multiple accounts and their loan rates are very very competitive. If you take care of your account, use it responsibly, and promptly report any suspicious activity (usually they reach you first) you won’t have any issue. If an issue arises they have always been able to assist me and sometimes even more than I ask. AAFCU is a great banking partner, I look forward to a longer relationship for my financial needs!

This is the most disappointing airline credit union I've ever been a member of. Not only is nearly impossible to get a representative on the phone, (it is designed to absolutely prevent person-to-person contact), when you do reach someone the attitude seems to be, "why are you intruding on my day"? The credit card division is operated by a third party--NOT the AA credit union. If you have a charge to dispute, plan on getting white hair before anyone returns your call or in the current parlance: "reaches out to you". If you get resolve, mark it in your day planner because it will be a rare occasion. I'm closing all accounts and taking my business where I will be a valued customer. "Hello, Piedmont Credit Union.......yes I'd like to open an account ......"
