If I could give this card zero stars, I would. The Atlas Mastercard is a textbook example of overpromising and underdelivering. From the moment you sign up, you're met with glossy marketing about 'exclusive benefits' and 'streamlined service.' Still, the reality is a pile of hidden fees, sluggish customer support, and a rewards program that feels more like a punishment than a perk.
Customer service is either nonexistent or painfully unhelpful, with long wait times and canned responses that fail to resolve issues. The so-called 'rewards' are laughable; earning points feels like chasing smoke, and when you finally accumulate enough, redemption is convoluted and worth pennies on the dollar.
To make matters worse, the card tacks on fees at every opportunity, with fine print designed to trip you up. It's as if the entire business model is based on squeezing the cardholder rather than supporting them. Compared to other cards on the market, the Atlas Mastercard doesn't just lag; it's in a completely different league.
Save yourself the headache and skip this card. There are far better options out there that won't waste your time or money.

I'm not usually big on credit cards, but this card is life-changing. It's done so much good I can't stop referring others to utilize it! From the cash back to earning credit builder points, I've been loving every minute of it. If only this card had reached out years ago, I would have perfect credit. I'm grateful to have the knowledge of knowing about it now! I love it here and love the positive perks that you get using this card! Thank you!
Hi Daphine, thank you for your review and for your kind words. We appreciate it.

Atlas hasn't been reporting any of my payments, all of which have been made early. Upon reporting this to them and the credit bureaus, Atlas threatened to close my account and mark my credit with them as in bad standing. I wish I had never signed up with them and I encourage others not to do so.

"I opened my Atlas account with my personal information, verified my bank information through my bank, then verified my debit card information in two different financial companies. Atlas happily allowed me to make a deposit and pay back the balances with their fees along the way, and they even increased my spendable balance. I added another larger deposit with the same information from the same institution that had been verified as mine, and now they have completely restricted my account and my funds for a week so they can verify my government ID. I was almost paralyzed in a wreck in February and lost everything in my wallet, including my ID. I may never drive again, but they want me to get a DMV-issued ID and won't even accept my voter registration card. I can literally vote for president with it, but I can't access my $65. It is both cruel and unusual. Worse, I had just moved the little bit of money I have per week over to Atlas for recurring after-school care for my daughter. So it's gone from my bank and frozen by Atlas for days, even after demanding closure of my account and immediate return of the funds to the original paying institution (my bank). They won't let me remove my bank information now, even though I sit without owing Atlas anything, and they are just stalling and using AI responses to frustrate us. If anyone is receiving the same treatment, then we need to create a group. There's no telling how many people have unexpectedly had to provide information that wasn't mandatory to give them money. It's their business model to make us give in and quit so they can take advantage. Not me.

Stay away. Duplicitous business practices. Not registered with the FDIC or the CFPB. I became a member at the beginning of July, and they immediately charged my checking account $8.99 for the first fee. Then, they charged a second $8.99 fee less than 20 days later. When asked, their response was, "We charge every 28 days," but 20 days is not 28. Mathematically, there was an additional 8-day window. They then started withdrawing $10 weekly from my checking account. When I stated this wasn't authorized, they responded rudely about how savings affect my score. Immediately afterward, they started withdrawing more money. I told them to cease all automatic payments from my checking account. Today, I was hit once again with another $150 charge. When I asked why automatic payments were still occurring, the representative gave no answer other than she would send it to a Specialty Team, and I should hear something in 24 hours. Mind you, she used the word should, not would. Despite all this, I had set up a direct deposit from my pay to this account. I was supposed to get a metal card, but instead, it took over a month to receive a physical card, and the virtual one they provided was compromised within hours. So, I tried filing complaints with the FDIC and the CFPB, and this company is not listed, which means your funds are not protected, and in their mind, they do not have to follow regulatory practices. If you want to boost your score, get a secured credit card with a recognized company. With this one, run the other way.
Hi Christina, we’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you reaching out. Upon review, we can confirm that our support team has been actively addressing your requests.
Your dispute claim was denied because the transaction in question was declined and never posted to your account. Regarding your cancellation request, we confirm that your account has been closed and a refund of your deposit has been initiated. This refund should reflect in your bank account within 3–5 business days.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] — we’re here to help.
Thank you!

Atlas for people with bad credit or no credit history! This is a bogus account; don't be foolish and fall for the good without seeing the bad. If anyone I know is reading this, again, don't get the Atlas card, and if you have it, get rid of it. They are scam artists, and you'll be just as frustrated as I am right now. I don't recommend them to anyone. If you're trying to improve your life, don't let Atlas be part of your path; it was the worst experience of my life! Too bad I cnt say how I really feel!!!!!!¡!

I signed up for the Atlas credit card expecting a legitimate product that would help improve my credit—what I got was a textbook example of false advertising and outright exploitation. From the start, the Atlas card was marketed as a tool to help rebuild or boost credit, with the promise of no hidden charges and a manageable experience. The reality could not be further from the truth. The company immediately hit me with exorbitant fees that weren't clearly disclosed, both before and after activation. I was shocked to see my bill balloon for a product that did nothing to help my credit, and in fact, made it worse. As soon as I realized what was happening, I canceled the account—but not before enduring more fees, a frustrating back-and-forth with customer service, and zero refunds for a product that never worked as advertised.
Even after canceling, Atlas left a "closed by credit grantor" mark on my credit report, which has harmed my credit score and made it harder for me to get approved for legitimate products elsewhere. The whole process feels designed to trap consumers: you can't keep it because the fees are predatory, but you can't get rid of it without damaging your credit further.
When I tried to explain the situation and request assistance, their customer service responded with indifference—no accountability, no concern about the harm caused, and no willingness to make things right. Many reviews echo this lack of transparency and real support, describing policies that make it nearly impossible to resolve disputes or get refunds.
I urge anyone considering the Atlas credit card—or any similar "credit builder" product—to think twice. Do your research, check for hidden fees, and be wary of glowing reviews that sound too good to be true. There are reputable ways to build credit out there, but this is not one of them. This company is not worth the risk to your credit or your finances. Avoid at all costs.
