Extremely rude and unprofessional. I've been with them in good standing over 30 years. I hit financial crisis being in and out of the hospital over a year and a half time. I got behind FIRST time I've not been able to pay my bills. A very rude person in loss mitigation said "we'll work with you, we'll help you" less than an hour later my account was frozen. I missed work and overrtime be ause I had no access to my money. Next thing I know my accounts are closed for "poor payment history". Good riddance AFCU! If they offer to help you through financial crisis, run like he77 because they will push you over the brink into bankruptcy. Buh bye AFCU.
They are good to loan at Avery high interest rate. However, they are a brick wall to fix issues that come up. I would not borrow from them again. Hopefully, my car will be paid off and I can save up cash for my next vehicle.
This morning we were promised a car loan for a car we were buying in California from a private party. We were making flight plans to get to CA to pick up the car with that guarantee. Near the end of the day today (a Friday), we called back after hearing nothing and were told that they would not make the loan unless they had the title in hand. Tell me how we are supposed to convince the seller in California to give us the title before he gets the money! We immediately called another credit union we had been considering (it was about 4:00 PM that same Friday), who said they did not need the title to fund the loan. Will fund on Monday. America First screwed up our flight plans and almost lost us the purchase of the car. I have to thank them, though, because we really dodged a bullet having to work with them in the future. Not a chance!
WARNING!!! DO NOT BANK WITH THEM! STUPID FEES and POOR SERVICES! DO NOT TAKE A LOAN FROM THEM! THEY ARE INTEREST HUNGRY, UNREASONABLE, UNHELPFUL, AND NON-NEGOTIABLE. I WAS TOLD AFTER BEING A MEMBER 18+ YEARS, THAT MY LINE OF CREDIT INTEREST RATE OF 9%, WOULD REMAIN UMCHANGED. THEY JUMPED IT UP TO A WHOPPING 18% WITHOUT INFORMING ME, AFTER I TOOK OUT MY 1ST AUTO LOAN WITH THEM. CHARGED ME A BUNCH OF LATE FEES, I CAME I, IN PERSON TO NEGOTIATE AND THEY DID NOTHING. ALSO, WITHIN ABOUT THE WEEK I PAID OFF THE ENTIRE BALANCE OF MY AUTO/NOW VISA LOAN IN FULL, THEY REPORTED ME DELINQUENT AND CLOSED ALL MY CREDIT ACCOUNTS WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH ME. TERRIBLE TREATMENT AFTER MY 18+ YEARS OF LOYALTY. I WAS NOT TREATED LIKE A HUMAN. MORE LIKE AN UNWANTED WILD DOG.
Horrible service, horrible online experience also. The chat feature quit working three times. Trying to verify checking account to make auto loan payment won't update. On hold for more that 30 minutes before I gave up on calling. I plan to send them a check every month just so it will cost them extra to process it.
Terrible, terrible service. I tried cashing a check but they wouldn't, so I had to wait 2 hours for them to call me to figure it out. Tried to pay my mortgage, but it didn't go through on their end and now I am out 1700 bucks, had to wait 2 more hours for them to call me in their awful system in order to figure it out and tell them that their system needs fixing. Don't bank with them. Even if you have your whole life, leave. They don't care, after waiting hours for them to call us back they told us it wasn't their problem and to call someone else, even though it was their system that didn't allow our payment to go through.
Their self service is terribly slow, non-human and automated. It's terrible service, I understand.

very poor, won't let half of my transactions go through and charge absurd overdraft fees. tellers are often unfriendly and their interest rate is pitiful. Aren't credit unions supposed to be non profit?
