I would not recommend Atlantic Federal Credit Union. Especially the Kenilworth branch in Nj. I spoke with a representative today at around 4:45pm in the Collections department about a auto loan I have with AFCU. The man named Brain Woods first answered the phone in a rush yelling “Hello?” Without stating his name..and with a aggressive and aggravated tone. Now I understand because I worked in a call center before that you dread calls before your shift is over so I quickly understood why he had that demeanor. I asked him about a question about my auto loan and I believe he incorrectly stated the policy to me saying that even if a car is uninsured you have to pay the insurance on it. Ask I tried to explain to him my view he talked over me the entire time. As I asked to speak with a manager to verify what he was saying he refused and placed me on hold without notifying me. When i asked him to stop speaking over me, he continued. I also asked him to put me with the department who handled auto loans and he refused and kept saying the collections department is the one I need to speak to. He refused to transfer me to the department until finally 5:00 came and he said that department closes at 5:00. With all that time he was arguing with the customer and being rude in a rush to get me off the phone he could of just transferred me. I am highly upset because at the end of the day I’m the customer who has to pay money out of pocket for these services not him. He is a poor representation of his staff and company. I hope to hear from AFCU about this matter soon.

Awful i recently had 460 stolen from my checking and 500 from my savings all on the same day different ATMS in a different county from were I live filed a police report AFCU said it can take up to 45 days to refund my money never heard of such will be closing my accounts

about 2 months ago I went to this credit union and wanted to know about IRA accounts for my retirement and when I got there no one even acknowledge me. It took about 20 mins for someone even to say Hi to me. Everyone was with no one and even a hello. So about 20 mins after the manager came to me and I told him about this and he said he was sorry, but then after that I got my issue resolved and he was very nice that is why I gave him 5 stars.

Atlantic Federal Credit Union is a really good place to bank. I enjoy the fact that it is different that your traditional bank, To me this place feels like a small neighborhood bank. They offer lots of programs throughout the year that will let customers borrow money for Christmas or back to school. They also have car loans and personal loans. I banked with them several years ago and never had any problems. The online access and Apps work well. The customer service is great. I would recommend this place to family friends or anyone looking for a good place to bank.

So far my experience with Atlantic Federal Credit Union based out of Kenilworth, NJ has gone fairly well. I had never heard of them until they came into my job to teach us a class on saving. I signed up and have been happy ever since. They have several locations in my area. Banking over the phone is really easy and if i do have to go into a branch so are the tellers. I was even able to get a $300 loan for Christmas this year. I would recommend this Credit Union to friends and family. Its a great place to bank.
