Terrible Bank, Stay Far Away!!! They make it exceedingly difficult to close an account. They just recently started charging account fees. This is their new business model. Just flat out steal from the customers. Go to a bank with a viable business model
You check your balance online and you’re in the black (at 12:20AM) check again at 8:30AM (same morning) paycheck is in the bank BUT you have an overdraft fee and amount. Their reason ? - processing goes on all night and they conveniently don’t show you that til late the next day (go back to the 12:20AM to 8:30AM time span same day) so they can screw you over and charge an overdraft fee. They USED to be a good bank but since they bought cadence and changed their name to cadence they suck like a 2 bit lady of the evening Online banking with them is totally inaccurate by design so they can screw the customers. Currently researching banks to change banking
I have had nothing but problems with BancorpSouth lately. I called today because I had 3 NSF charges even though my account was in the positive. The woman literally told me I should "get a check registry" and "keep up with your account better." She was very arrogant and rude. Who says that to a customer?! Meanwhile it's charge upon charge for NSF when the FUNDS ARE THERE...and no one is correcting this. Last night I had a certain amount of money in the bank and I filled my car with gas. I checked my account to see if it was acting weird again and it showed me with no money at all in my account and a negative balance! (Which I knew was wrong.) This morning it should the positive balance again and then a different amount even though there are zero withdrawals made. I have used this bank for years but lately it has been one disaster after another. I'm out. And please dont use this bank. They're awful. SMH.
Please for the love of God. Choose another bank. This is the worst service I have ever received, and I feel like they just don't care. Especially the upper management. 20-40 minutes in the drive thru. 40 minutes to an hour inside. EVERY SINGLE DAY TIME. and it doesn't matter what time of the day. Two to three weeks to replace a debit card in today's fast paced society. Come on people you have to do better than that. I am recommending to my family we move. And I'm telling everyone else not to choose this banking system. Not that Bancorpsouth cares.
Bancorp South purchsed National United bank (which was an excellent bank!), and I have had nothing but trouble since they took over. One of the more horrible things they did was close a bunch of branches that National United had, which made access a lot more difficult. They also declared my account inactive because I didn't use it for a few months, so when I went to use my debit card, the card was no good, as they cancelled it. Why they would do this I have no idea, they are completely incompetent. I just closed my account and would recommend everyone stay as far away from this bank as possible!!!
They are literally the worst bank I have EVER used! It takes forever to be able to access your money any time it’s put in and when you call them nobody can ever tell you what’s going on! I am so sick of them I plan on canceling my account. I DO NOT recommend!
Always good business. Any time I needed to take out a loan the process was easy and staff was great to work with. They even helped me consolidate all my smaller high interest accounts into one lower interest rate loan and saved me several hundred dollars.

Their mistakes on more than three occasions resulted in me paying penalties which they refuse to cover. Their customer service is lacking and they are very difficult to contact by phone. Long hold times which leads to being forced to try to find information on a less than user-friendly website. For time sensitive situations this can be costly for the customer. After trying to resolve the multiple issues I had I was simply denied my request for them to cover the penalties, due to their mistakes which they even admitted to, and simply told "We are sorry you are disappointed". "We are sorry" does not put the money back into my bank account that I was forced to pay to cover penalties due to their error. I was given false information multiple times. Inaccurate information multiple times. Due to this inaccurate information a refund check I was issued of my own money was even rejected by my bank when I deposited it. I just kept getting told "we are sorry". Thankfully this was all after I had ended my relationship with the bank, which was not due to any of the above errors but only due to a new bank being a better option for me for my situation at the time, but it's good to see how they treat their customers and how they treat their former customers even worse. Do better.
WORST BANK EVER. They took Texas First State Bank from a 5 star local bank to -5 stars. For starters: 1) It has taken over TWO weeks to get a new debit card which was mailed to me and I have YET to receive it. The “kind” lady whom I spoke to with customer service did not offer an expedited option until I asked. Then at that point she said she could not expedite my card because she had already processed the new one and it would mess up the system? Hmmmmm okay. 2) Their out-dated technology will text you, sometimes 24 hours after a purchase, sometimes 48 hours, but never immediately after a purchase has been made. Because that’s helpful. Not to mention they can’t even include the name of the merchant where the purchase was made. I am big supporter of doing my business local but DO NOT use this bank. You’re much better off with Wells Fargo. These clowns are lucky it’s such a beating to transfer everything over to a new bank having had the same checking account for the past 25 years. I’m just going to have to bite the bullet though and switch my finances over to a new bank because this company is HORRIBLE.
I've been with this bank for years and never had an issue until November when Spotify stole money from my account. All this bank can do is cancel your card and issue you another one. And bam Spotify strikes again. If I could, I'd close my account tomorrow, but I understand that everything is a process. They couldn't even block them and it takes at least 3 weeks to get a new card. Meanwhile, other banks can print you a new card in less than 10 minutes. This bank is still in the 20th century. Go to another bank if you want up to date service. Now I'm being forced to take legal action against them and Spotify.
