The absolute worst--if you're searching for a new credit union or bank, keep looking. Multiple shady business practices & your money may not be safe.
I'm unable to post my entire review due to what seems to be a glitch, but in short--they're shady, dishonest & won't hesitate to tack on weird fees with no explanation & when asked about these "fees", say they're unable to find that information. No refund, no recourse.

They are amazing, my credit is real bad not even 500 but they gave me a 2nd chance and I'll definitely will take advantage of. Now I have an awesome truck plus I get to fix my credit. But I took hill and got behind in my payment I talked to Chris to figure a way to take care of my late payments but he refused to help me.im in my late 40s and that disrespectful 20 something years old started to raise his voice at me saying I'm not doing anything for you he made me come into the office that day to tell me that ... Instead they took my 2010 Toyota tundra with 230000 miles that they approve a $24000 load and the truck was only worth $10000 instead of working with me to get it caught up.bravo Chris you sir are a real winner. But I'm not done I'm working my way up the ladder until I find someone without an attitude that can make sense of all that. Plus they never sent a right of cure letter and took the truck.

Shifty, Shady... be alert because they play dirty with “your money” and find ways to keep your interest rate high. They need to be investigated.

I must say that as far as local credit unions go I really have enjoyed my experience with Bangor Federal Credit Union. The have numerous services available but I will stick to the ones I have had experience with. I really like the interest rates they offer which are far better than the big banks. I personally never experienced any fees like a couple of banks I have used. The tellers are very friendly and helped me out more than once by waiving overdraft fees if I had the money within 48 hours. I think it’s awesome that they offer services for minors to help teach financial responsibility at a young age. I believe I have even seen television commercials advertising this service. This credit union simplifies many services by offering them online at no charge. Their website is one of the most comprehensive online banking options I have ever used. The only issue I have ever had with this credit union is the wait time on large checks and deposits. They slowly trickle money into your account over the course of a few days before the full amount is available whereas larger banks have a short wait period and then ALL of the money is available. Overall I would recommend this extremely personable, affordable, and helpful credit union.

I have been a customer of this bank, or rather credit union, for the past fifteen years. I have had some membership privileges that have made my checking account fees nominal and the locations in Bangor, Maine were convenient. I am also happy that now that I live out of state, this credit union offers shared banking with a local postal credit union here in North Carolina. I find that when I call the Bangor branch to ask a question about my account, the customer service can be frustrating. At times, the answering machine is on and there is no one available for support via telephone. Considering that Bangor is the main branch, this is very challenging. I also have been displeased with the ATM fees and lack of the bank's own, no-fee machines. The shared branch has no-fee machines located at the branch which is convenient. All in all, I have good and fair things to say about this institution.

During my search for an auto loan provider I stumbled across Bangor Credit Union online. I was happy to see that they had an online application, and it was fairly simple to fill out. This company has been a godsend for me. With a rate at 3.2% I found that this company offered the lowest rate I could find, and any question I had throughout the process was answered by a real person. That alone makes the whole process easier. During the last three months I have made my payments on time and on the third month I received a thank you letter from the credit union. This shows that they care about their customers, and I will be a lifelong customer for them.

I had an auto loan from Bangor Federal Credit Union with rates starting at 2.49%. I feel it’s quiet reasonable. The helpful staff let us borrow quite more money than the value of the car. They were straightforward with instructions and process. I was referred to them by one of my relatives and found everyone to be reliable and responses were relayed quickly. Most of my experience was via email, with all of my questions being answered quickly and honestly. Coming back again for the second time says it all! Thank you Bangor Federal Credit Union!!

I went to Bangor Federal Credit Union for my car loan a couple of years ago. They were extremely helpful with everything and the whole process went smoothly. I've been very happy with my rate and the customer service can't be beat. They're always so kind and helpful. They really know what they're doing. Each time I go in to make a payment, or just with a question, I always leave satisfied and content with my choice to go to BFCU for my car loan needs. I recommend them all the time and plan to go to them again should the need arise for another car loan.

I really enjoy Bangor Federal Credit Union. The staff at their branches is always polite and eager to assist me. I really love their website and using their online banking. The website is never offline and I especially enjoy how images of the checks that I write are available for later viewing. When I order checks, they are promptly delivered, and any time I need to call customer service or have a question, I'm always satisfied. Their terms and conditions are easy to understand and are easily accessible. They have a couple physical locations, but I love how the drive-thru only is right near my house and in perfect walking distance.
