At Citadel, they don’t have stockholders. As a credit union, their fundamental goal is to serve their members. Every dollar gets reinvested back to you. Like a bank, they offer a full range of products and services and your deposits are federally insured up to $250,000 or more. But unlike a bank, they’re not... show more

I have been a member of Citadel Credit Union for over 35 years. Their daily limits and lack of availability when freezing your account after business hours have turned into a horrible customer experience. I have been shopping for a new bank and will be taking my business elsewhere. Two thumbs way down.

Paid car off, paid Citadel auto loan off in full upon trade. Citadel was a great company to deal with. Hopefully, we can do business again.

What the plan was to transfer a substantial portion of my IRA money from another credit union. I requested a specific letter concerning the transfer. I was told more than 24 hours ago that the letter would be prepared and faxed within the hour. Nothing's happened; I'm still waiting. I was told the letter was requested today, not yesterday, within the hour. I hope this is not indicative of our future relationship. Not a great start

Good 5 years ago, but not anymore, it's a complete disaster. The customer service over the phone used to be top-tier, but now they've switched to an automated system, and it's horrible. They haven't even tried to update the app in 5 years. Will never use it again.

Their website is mediocre. For example, when you perform a transfer, most financial institutions will automatically email you confirming this action. Citadel Federal Credit Union will not. Their customer service states you must manually configure this yourself. Their website is a bit dated and not intuitive. It really does need updates. For a credit union, Citadel Federal is rather slow. Most credit unions allow early access to funds directly deposited (such as direct deposit of pay). Citadel Federal does get notice of pending deposits, but they will not allow access to the funds until your payday. This is very unusual for a credit union and more like a bank.

It is time to say something positive for the employees of this credit union. Even though my Citadel credit card was rejected at fifty different checkout machines in Lancaster County, it wasn't the fault of Citadel. A sophisticated hacking gang has control of those machines. Other customers had the same problem with their credit cards. I have been a member of this credit union for fifty years. Most of my experiences with their employees have been positive.

This company is running a scam with an insurance company, preying on its own customers. They charge a CPI insurance fee of $6,000 while you are already insured. They pretend to attempt to get proof of insurance from your carrier but won't accept it for a random period of time. Then they add that charge to your loan amount and laugh all the way back to their bank.

I wanted to let someone know, who cares about the bank and the customer, that it is difficult to communicate with your organization. Whenever I call, I am asked a number of questions, and the answers are in my wallet or in my dresser. I provide the information, and then it is asked again. I understand the reasons, but your process is over the top.
Now, you have added and are trying to sell some type of medical alert, which I feel is very tacky, and it's almost like you have to buy it to talk to a real person. It is like the old scams where you are offered something that you really don't want but are pushed into it. If you care, you may want to talk to your customers, the smartphone users, and the smart people who just use the phone.

My account and my debit card were hacked, and there were $2,000 in fraudulent charges on my account. They claimed there were codes initiated to change my information, but I never received a text message for any codes – I even showed them proof. Yet, they are claiming that I might have to pay the money if it is deemed not fraudulent. I'm looking for another bank as soon as possible.

Should be a rating for zero stars. Credit unions are supposed to be sympathetic to the little guy, Citadel wants to be Wells Fargo and jack their customers for fees. An electronic transaction is pennies, not $132 citadel. I hope with these reviews I can cost you as much money as you take from me. Citadel sucks

Deserves to be an ZERO. Absolute worst customer service ever. Applied for a mortgage, our first point of contact demanded we have paper work submitted by a certain date, no problem. Everything was submitted, then I dont hear anything back for another week after sending multiple emails to make sure everything was received. The process eventually moved along, all forms signed, and 50+ items of information was submitted as soon as it was requested. Our point of contact changed and we paid for the appraisal and was told it was scheduled. Two weeks later, (and two weeks from settlement) we were told the appraisal would cost more money and couldn’t be completed for another 3 weeks. 2 days after that news we were told our application was cancelled due to the fact that this property has too high of acreage. Citadel knew what this property was before we even moved along with the process. Now two weeks before settlement I have to find a new lender. I’ll be cancelling all of my citadel accounts. DONT EVER APPLY FOR A MORTGAGE WITH CITADEL

The recent update to Citadel online bill payer has to be the absolute worst. I've been with them for a long time and the prior version was much easier to leverage. Not to mention my biggest complaint is that many of my online bill pay payments prior to the update went electronically. Now they are mailing paper bills. I was not prepared for this to be inclusive of their change and my largest complaint. I'm looking for new bill payers now.

I have been a customer of Citadel‘s for at least 20 years. They recently made changes that are extremely inconvenient. I use the app on the phone to do everything, deposit checks, transfer funds, pay my credit card down etc. they used to have one login. I would login and I could do all my work I could see all my accounts. They recently changed it and now you have to have two separate logins. 1 to see your personal accounts and A different one to see your business accounts. This is extremely inconvenient because now every time I do work on the phone which is almost every day I have to login twice. I have asked them to change this back to having only one login and have gotten no response.

Customer of Citadel Credit Union for personal and business since 1996. They shut down bill pay for over 10 days while “improving” the system. Additionally they cannot find my business account plus they lost all my bill pay contacts and information. We filled out all necessary documents prior to this debacle. Now I have no idea if bills have been paid. I have spent hours trying to resolve this with staff and no resolution. Anybody else feeling this pain? Any recommendations?

I was a Citadel customer for over 10 years with almost no problems. Fortunately I worked near a branch and if I did have a problem they were helpful and issues resolved quickly.
Now, however, I recently returned to Citadel and first thing I am hit with was no bill pay for over a week. Of course I had a problem and customer service could not resolve because Bill Pay is down and they can't see my account either. So ended up w a late fee on my electric bill so called Peco the next business day and began dealing with them. Seems the technology department hasn't been the same since last rollout with the new logo and site design. Frustrated and no longer working near a branch so issue not resolved and just have to wait out for now
