We have had nothing but problems with CCU. Both my husband and I have good credit, years of credit history, no late payments, and CCU is always full of excuses why they will not approve us for any loans beyond a basic single vehicle loan. It’s always the run around and we jump through all their hoops just to continue being denied. Most recently they offered my husband some type of loan program and promised at the end they would approve him for a second loan. He completed the program plus interest with no late or missed payments only to be told there was no loan available at the end like he was promised and only offered him a “secured” $500 credit card. He makes over $200,000 a year and we have minimal bills. Recently they denied us because he has “too many inquiries!” Which just sounds like yet another poor excuse! How can someone with $200,000/year income, no missed payments, one car loan, no credit card debt, years of history with the bank, etc etc keep being denied over petty excuses? At this point we are fed up and going to refinance with a different bank that actually wants to service its customers instead of wasting our time and getting attitude over the phone.

I am currently compiling a list of automatic withdrawals and deposits. I am also withdrawing my kids. I have been a member for nearly 30 years. CCU has transformed from a small-town credit union into a disorganized mess. I find myself doing the work of the fraud department, which is frustrating. I already have a job which is demanding and does not pay well. As a single mom, I shouldn't have to do their job as well.

Having bad customer service that never answers any inquiries about checking account incidents is terrible, but having a bank that cannot keep correct account balances is simply scary. Consumers Credit Union messes up my account on a regular basis. Almost every deposit I make through an ATM results in my account being thrown into negative balances as far back as you can look. The latest incident was that I deposited a large check on top of $422 in my checking account. Instead of showing at least a balance of $422 in my account while the check was being verified, my balance showed -$9578 for several days until the check cleared. How can an ATM subtract $10,000 instead of adding that deposited amount? If a bank can't do simple math, what can they do? This never happened to me while I banked with MECU and Andigo, the two credit unions that were the predecessors of CCU.

I am sorry my credit union is getting bad reviews. I have banked with the credit union for over 12 years. In those years, I have had fraudulent transactions made against my checking account. I reported it due to my card being stolen or lost and someone using it. I called the credit union and explained. They informed me it would take 90 days for an investigation. The next day, my funds were returned. I love the trust relationship we have. I live in Texas now since 2016, and I will not be joining another credit union anytime soon. Thank you!

Denied without even a review from underwriting. Loan officer Pat denied it before we even disconnected from the call. This used to be my go-to for loans, always approved with no issues. Never late, very good credit, income in the mid-six figures, light obligations, no credit card debt. Not recommended; considering closing all my accounts, including business. Our relationship is no longer fruitful, a waste of time and resources.

I'm extremely disappointed with CCU Bank's handling of my refinance request. I was asked to physically bring in my Social Security Number because, according to them, it wasn't on file. This is baffling considering I already have an existing loan with the bank. How was I approved in the first place without a SSN on record? This raises serious concerns about the bank's recordkeeping and internal processes. As a customer, I expect a higher level of professionalism and accuracy when it comes to sensitive financial information. This experience has left me questioning their reliability.

I will never finance with them again. They are rude and have terrible customer service. On multiple occasions, their representatives couldn't even help me with my issues. On one occasion, a representative decided to argue with me over an issue I hadn't even brought up. All I wanted to ask for was information on the documentation I needed to submit. Their response was to control the conversation. They ignored my questions while making their own rude assumptions. I reached out to them for help, not to be bullied. I have nothing good to say about this institution.

Poor customer service and a badly designed website forced me to call customer service to put my loan on autopay, and they charged me for two months and this month too. The person who set up the autopay was supposed to charge me for first month on my debit card and set up the autopay for second month. Instead, he charged my debit card and set up an ACH payment on my bank account for first month. Second month they charged ACH again. When I called to talk to them about this problem, the person did not care about my issue. Lesson learned: do research before getting financed.

Verified Customer
Service is very poor. I applied for a credit card and was asked via email to provide additional information. However, their site had no relevant information. I would call, but wait times are extremely long—just look at the BBB reviews. I tried emailing their credit department, but no one responded. I left messages on their 'secured login site,' but they went unanswered. Finally, I closed the loan and all accounts associated with them after trying for three weeks. Stay clear of this credit union. I checked Consumer Reports, and they indicated that this credit union has terrible customer service.

I have had an auto loan, savings, and checking account for about two years. Recently, I applied for a credit card. After a few days and no contact, I was told I was conditionally approved and would hear from them shortly. However, there was no communication but I received an email stating that additional information was needed. The website's "secured mail" doesn't show what is needed. The credit union fails to respond to my requests regarding what is required to finalize the account. Calling is a waste of time due to very long hold times. I finally gave up, paid the auto loan off, and contacted the NCUA, the governing body for credit unions, to assist in closing all accounts. The credit union doesn't seem to care about the customer.

Terrible. We applied for a loan and were told to close a credit card in order to get the 10k we asked for. We closed the credit card and called after a week of not hearing back, only to find out the most they could approve was 2k. Bear in mind, we make 11k a month and were told with our debt-to-income ratio we would be approved for 7-10k. They are so full of nonsense. They love to lie to you.

I used to love CCU until I was defrauded by the bank itself. I had a charge on my card for $518 although I was not present at the location and the card was not lost or given to anyone. My dispute was denied because my card was not lost. I am stuck with $518, which I did not charge. It is not a safe bank to save your money; be warned. People can hack into their system and take money from your account even when you have the card in your possession, and they will not assume responsibility to reimburse you or conduct the due diligence to discover the truth.

My card was stolen on 10/15/2024 and someone charged me over $400. I called the bank and reported it. They closed my case without contacting me. I reopened it again, and they closed it again without contacting me. I've been with this bank since 2008, now it's not safe... I lost $400 because someone stole it and they didn't protect it. I am closing my card and both accounts and moving my money to another bank. I am reporting it to the police, too. I'll get my money back, and they'll lose me as a customer.

If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. First, the website is almost impossible to navigate. I have extensive IT experience and have never come across a website that was so confusing. I can only assume, due to how terrible it is, that it was by design.
Second, bless your heart if you call and are hoping to speak to a person. I spent 10 minutes being routed through the automated system before I finally spoke with a "Representative" to pay off a loan because the aforementioned website would not allow me to. The lady kindly did not charge me the $3.50 convenience fee for making a phone payment. I am unsure where things went wrong at this point. I waited a week for the funds to be taken from my bank. When this did not happen, I called (6 minutes wait this time). The person I spoke to informed me that the funds had been returned and could not give me a reason why. I went through the steps of making the payment again, only this time interest of 7 days had been incurred and she charged me the $3.50. I am now 5 days into the second payment, waiting for it to clear. I checked the account and am not able to access the loan account or the savings account.
As they say, the third time pays for all. When checking to see if there is any balance showing, the account shows I have a payment due July 26th, 2025?
I work in finance with lenders and brokers. My mistake for thinking consumers could properly handle a $7000.00 loan. Never again.

This company has horrible customer service. Post-Covid, you had to wait an excessive amount of time for assistance. They updated their online payment service, but it had issues, which in turn caused you to pay by phone for a fee. Never use this company.
