A great place to get a loan, got approved in five minutes. Decided to pay it off early and it was a nightmare. After trying to pay online several times, it kept telling me I couldn't pay more than $2,500 per day online. So I had to call customer service, and they told me I could mail it in with another week's interest or come to their branch in Antigo and pay in person. Well, I'm in Florida right now, so that's not going to work. The last option would be to pay on the phone with a limit of $10,000 at a time with a $15 fee. So, it took me over an hour to pay off a loan! Unbelievable!

I have read many good and bad comments about Co Vantage Banking, just like any other bank, but there really isn't any bank like Co Vantage Bank. See, I am divorced and I live alone, so since I found out I have a severe medical condition and I could pass away at any time, I didn't know what I was going to tell the people at Co Vantage because my personal and business accounts are with them. I kept wondering, what am I going to say? How do I even talk about this? I was thinking it was going to be a very stressful experience, but I sat down with Kyle and told him what was going on. To my surprise, he was not only extremely professional but also very patient and caring. Kyle walked me through the process of signing papers just in case I do pass away. I was amazed at how caring he was and how he listened to all my concerns. I have lived in several states and had banking accounts with several banks, but I can honestly say there really is no place like Co Vantage. Four times when I was in great need, Co Vantage has been there for me over and over again. I honestly don't know who runs Co Vantage, but I can't thank all of the staff enough for your patience, kindness, and just being there to help me with all my financial questions and concerns. The tellers and all the call center staff just amaze me with how much they are willing to answer questions. Thank you all so much! Tim T.

Paid off $20,000 on my car, fell into hard times, and asked several times if they would work with me and lower my payments, but they would not. They are a predatory loan company that only looks at profit. And their so-called giveback program is a joke. Get $20.00 a year, not even enough to fill my gas tank. My opinion: don't deal with this credit union; you will be sorry. Really sorry. Miss a payment, and get a certified letter demanding payment.

Couldn't receive $160.00 so I could get medicine for my dog. Been with the bank for over 20 years. Heartless, and they have access to my deposits before I do!

Lisa Krautkramer was the most amazing representative from any CoVantage I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She assisted me with opening a new account because my ex closed the account without notifying me. And my disability was going to come in and the state said it takes 2 to 3 months to go through, but Lori went above and beyond and was able to get it linked to my account so I would get it on the 3rd of the month as always. I don't know what I would have done without her expertise. She deserves to get a diamond award. Thanks again, Lisa Krautkramer, you're amazing.

My mother passed away in April and had several CDs. Some just listed the estate as the beneficiary, which we know wasn't her intent. We asked for copies and were refused. My brother is the executor, and three different people told us we didn't have to go through probate and sent us to the courthouse to get a domiciliary letter. We went to the courthouse twice and were told they don't issue those letters without going through probate. We finally had to hire an attorney. My brother received the letter, and we went to the bank to close the account. He lives three hours away. We were told they couldn't issue a check for up to 48 hours and he had to come back. He asked if I, his sister, could pick it up. They said no. He asked if he could transfer the money into my account. They told us no. He asked if he could open an account and get temporary checks so he could distribute the money to his family. They said yes, but they don't issue temporary checks and it takes three weeks to get checks. It's a significant amount of money, so he asked if it could be sent by certified mail. She initially said no but then finally said yes. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Your service is terrible, and for a grieving family, it's painful. I would never recommend you to anyone. You need to train your people better. My sister bought my mother's home, and it took three months! CoVantage is such a disappointment. Susan L.

I've been with CoVantage since 2014, I believe. I may not have the best credit, but I have always met my obligations with CoVantage. I was late sometimes on my payments, but they were paid. I even took over my grandson's loan when he lost his job. His loan balance was almost $4,000.00, and I paid the loan for him. I recently paid off a Kwik Cash Loan and applied for another one, and I was denied because of my credit report. I thought that this was very unfair; it seems like CoVantage could have considered my account history with them instead of denying me because of my history with others.

I wish I could leave less than one star. CoVantage has been one disappointment after another. From my mortgage, checking/savings, and vehicle loan, I will never do business with this credit union again. I highly advise that if you are thinking about working with them, you run.

I have been a member for 10 years and have never had an issue with their service, products, or any disputes. However, this last year I accepted a credit card and an installment loan to help boost my score, (as well as other ways of improving it outside of the bank) and decided to ask after that year for an increase in credit. Mind you, I have paid all of my loans and cards on time since accepting these offers. My score also increased over 130+ points since making this effort. I make sufficient income for bills and my debt to income was 1%! Was told that the 1% prevented me from an increase, prevented me from a car loan AND. A mortgage. I am so discouraged by my efforts to be better financially that my own bank of 10 years cannot offer me the bank accommodations. I am thinking of pulling my money out and closing my accounts to bank with another institution that encourages this kind of financial responsibility and commitment.

After making an IRA distribution in 2022 and converting the IRA into CD's, Co Vantage never submitted a 2022 1099-R. I have the Form 2306T, a receipt of the transaction and the statements to prove that the IRA was converted to CD's. Accounting at Co Vantage said there was no distribution. I have the CD's to prove there was. Then they said they would submit the required 1099-R to the IRS because I have proof of transaction. So Co Vantage then submitted the required 1099-R EXCEPT THEY USED THE WRONG YEAR. LAST YEAR WAS 2022 NOT 2021. Now, because of the total incompetence of personnel they have submitted incorrect information to the IRS WHICH WILL CAUSE MY TAX RETURN FOR THE YEAR BEFORE LAST TO BE IN QUESTION!!!!!! What is going on at Co Vantage that this is acceptable. I am beginning to suspect that there is definitely a much larger problem. This also constitutes Wire Fraud on their part. These are federal crimes. I am so disappointed in Co Vantage and would highly recommend that anyone do their banking else where. A buried soup can in the back yard is safer! The current activity of Co Vantage Credit Union is to absorb smaller credit unions high in deposits to bolster their overall asset standing. They boast of ATM's and the number of vice presidents they're hiring which clearly shows their emphasis is no longer on the credit union member. Please save yourself the grief and go to another financial institution. -30-

Only issue is that we can’t pay our mortgage every other week. Ie: monthly payment is $887 and we would like to make a $500 payment every other Friday. Must be full amount at due time. Can add extra with full amount, but won’t let us break it up over the month

I've been a member for 20 years as then I had taken out a Loan and have their Credit Card. I am now retired on fixed income. I used to get statements every three months to reconcile my savings account I originally took out to get the loan. I have not received any statements or even any advertisements. TODAY I received my "last Statement" as unknown to me, their customer, over four months in 2021 fees have been withdrawn from my account for lack of activity. When I inquired I was told that rule would have been in information I received twenty years ago when I opened the account, had I read all the small print. The Forty Dollars or so and change I remember from the last statement I was sent was taken away from me due to lack of account activity. And per their representative "That is That" I pleaded had I known of this rule and the lack of account activity fee I would have come and retrieved my $ 40.00. They researched and pondered and called me back to say I had been informed and I had not ! GONE my $ 40.00

Similar thing just happened to my kids accounts. I HAD to open two savings accounts, small deposit albeit, in order to purchase CDs from them. After multiple renewed CDs over the years I finally took the CD money when their rates where no longer competitive. At that time, I was also going to close the two small savings accounts that I HAD to open but it was suggested that I leave the accounts open in the event that I was to buy CDs again in the future or perhaps be in need of car loan or similar service somewhere down the road.
The accounts continued to receive small monthly dividends posted to the account every month with a quarterly statement sent to the home address. Just after the first of the year, the quarterly statement showed $10 dormancy fees posted for each month of past quarter, yet still had month dividend deposit as well. One of the accounts was closed by the credit Union after they drained it to Zero. They would not reimburse me because the account was closed, not by me, but by them and this was how I found out. They claimed to have sent dormancy letters but that was bull because I would gone to the credit union immediately upon receiving such a dormancy letter in order to close the accounts just as I did when I received the latest quarterly statement reflecting the monthly dormancy fees which were assessed. VP there insisted that the letters were sent and that the dividend deposits also being posted to the accounts did not mean that the account remained active or that it prevented dormancy status. I guess dormancy has a different definition depending on which side of the table you sit. Also, if truly dormant, isn’t there a responsibility to turn that money over to the State through escheatment versus just stealing it?? Consumer beware
