March 26, 2025 - WARNING: DO NOT BANK AT THIS FINANCIAL INSTITUTION!
Because.... 1) they gave me a debit card that CAN'T BE USED; 2) after depositing funds into a checking account, this institution held the funds for 7 business days; 3) this institution claimed my password was wrong and I was locked out of my account and then was able to sign in 1 hour later; 4) I tried to transfer funds to an external linked account and this institution refused my transaction; 5) I cannot figure out how to get my funds out of this banking institution; AND 6) You cannot talk to an actual physical person and have to deal with AI Luna! The locations are few and far between, the hours are 9-5 weekdays only, and there is no way to get your money out!
I AM CLOSING MY ACCOUNTS IMMEDIATELY!

My rating is a bold 0 - Zero! If I could give them a zero! Credit Union 1 is the worst of worse! I recently opened 3 accounts with them and none of them had easy funding options (I.e., Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp) and to add, I don’t have a branch in my city. I believe the closest branch is about 30 miles away! Man, I am blown away by the lack of basic tools. Customer retention couldn’t care less. I’ll just call the 😒 👀 (clears throat) 😌 the representative, a child of God. In short, go somewhere else.

I have worked very hard to improve my credit after having my account compromised with other banks. I recently switched to CU1, and I could not be happier with my decision! Not only did they work with me to get a good rate on my car loan, but the staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The service is exemplary, and I feel like they care about helping me make good decisions. Thank you, Credit Union 1. I won’t be leaving any time soon!

You guys suck. Been banking with you for 10 years now , in those 10 years my wife and i have tried getting a credit card & car loan but you guys never approve us , we both have direct deposit for our paychecks you know we can afford it, have made mistakes when we were young and dont have the best credit but u guys suck, you should give your memebers a chance knowing we can afford to pay you back. You can do better!

Credit Union 1 has become horrible to deal with. they closed the two branches I could easily reach. And they will constantly block overseas transactions bought on Ebay when I use my debit card , even if I'm going through Paypal. I just wasted almost an hour getting it straightened out. And it was not a large transaction. I've never had trouble with Ebay, only with CU1. I wish I had enough money to make it hurt when I move to another bank, but I plan to do it as soon as I can manage.

Loan process was a little more than what I expected, and I thought I would get approved Even though I didn’t get approve and I really needed it Ms Maria was really nice answered the phone every time or called but quickly. response to answer is quick.m so I guess that’s positive I hated I applied because of the hard pull when I thought outcome would be different

After 15 years I am closing my account since they kept messing up my credit card. I had autopay set up for the full principle every month, but they were not applying it correctly causing me to go over my limit which freezes the card. When I tried to pay it off with a transfer from checking, they decided to designate my payment as "floating", which means they won't actually do what I asked for several weeks while they verified I had the funds in checking to cover it. I did, and they should know its the same bank! In the mean time I couldn't use my card, and they claimed there was nothing they could do! There was something I could do- I closed my account and moved to a much better bank!

To my misfortune, my former bank (Emory Federal Credit Union) was recently absorbed by the Credit Union 1 network. The transition in service was seriously mismanaged and has cost me hours of work setting up a new online payment system. When I called Credit Union 1 for assistance, I was put on hold and informed that there were 81 people ahead of me in the phone queue. Judging from my own experience, I would strongly advise against doing your banking here.

Their customer service team does not communicate with one another. I had some fraudulent activity with my bank card and was told that another one was ordered for me after I cancelled the old one. After nearly 2 weeks, I call to check the status and was told that it was never ordered. On several other occasions, I was told that someone would call me back to discuss and issue and they never do.

BEWARE! They will post a rate, you apply and then they tell you: "oh it just switched yesterday." Of course as soon as you fill out anything they hard pull your credit. I have excellent, so it will not hurt me as much, but not everyone is so lucky. Lesson learned. No thank you!

Not sure what happened to this bank, because the level of customer service that attracted me to them, is non-existent. I am harrassed with emails of debit card being "reported for fraudulent transactions"...except I'm not the one reporting it. They are literally saying me as the debit card user are attempting to commit fraud! They then demand I acknowledge these charges that I never claimed were fraud in the first place. How about this....they PAY for these "fraud" charges....and ask me to verify they are not fraud????? But why would I verify charges are not fraud, when I NEVER REPORTED it as such to start with? Crazy!!

Ive been with credit union for some years now. I have refinanced 2 cars with them. The second car i was promises 1000 bonus. I did jot received they promises a lower interest rate that i did not get. Apparently the loan officwr was new so i forgave it and went with them i did 100% get gap insurance 2 years later my car is titaledand they say i nevwr signed up for it. I was going to refinace my ne car with them till i heard this. I was lied to and now i may oqe money because they screwed up. I will never work with this credit union again. I felt so betrayed.

I can’t find a section for “ service “ so I’ll start here., on the 14 of the month I paid off my car loan , I asked the teller please make sure that you don’t take another payment from my other bank, she replied it will be taken care of don’t worry, On the 26 th I noticed on my other bank statement that they had payed another payment on my car loan, I went to credit union 1 and told the teller I first saw what had happened, she went and got a manager or supervisor named Kathy I explained what had happened and she assured me if the other bank chargers me for insufficient funds and levy a fee that CU 1 would refund me. Yesterday I noticed on my other bank account they had charged me a $25 NSF FEE, I went to C U 1 Today and got told they will have to sort it out , I did become aggravated and walked round to the managers office only to be told to get out @ your trespassing,I left having become agitated and came back 45 minutes later , I asked to speak to Kathy who now claims not to have said that, got threatened with trespass again and left. While waiting to see Kathy the young male teller I had been talking to told me it’s not my money it other peoples money!! I replied maybe so but $25 of it is mine , got threatened with tress pass again and left. Abbot road branch Manager Abigail Khachadoorian
