Credit Union of Ohio

My mother recenlty passed away so I am having to deal with Credit Union of Ohio. Not only is it impossible to get in contact with a Member Services Representative, but when I have I feel like I am an inconvenience to them. I do not live near a Credit Union of Ohio location, nor have they taken the time to look up my mother's accounts. Simply 1 word answers or willing to offer any guidance are not acceptable.

I have been a member we of the same little credit Union for 28 yrs. It has been under a few different names, including now Credit Union of Ohio, and I have always done my banking there. I have known all the ladies who work there, the loan associates, and the managers that have run the place. I have never been denied a loan at the credit until now under Credit Union of Ohio. I started new employment is August and asked for 1200 dollars holiday loan. Denied. With the current rate of inflation, things are Alittle tight for Christmas, so I go to the credit union for a small loan like I always have my entire adult life. I get paid weekly almost as much as the loan and it is direct deposited. It used to be, the credit union knew everyone, especially how small the one I use is. Credit union of Ohio has turned it into a bank, and after 28 yrs I feel like a number to that bank for the first time I even took a name of their tree and my wife and I bought a little disadvantaged girl Christmas gifts. . It’s more sad than disgraceful. Credit Union of Ohio ruined a nice little community line of financial help and turned it into Wall St numbers and bottoms lines. I’m closing my accounts

I have been with the CU of OH for a LONG time and up until now, I have had great customer service. However, now you cannot get through to anyone and when you do, they are rude and disrespectful! I am traveling overseas and I wanted to find out more details about possible charges if I use my VISA while overseas. The person I spoke with, Stacey, was VERY RUDE and disrespectful. I am planning on taking my money out and moving it to another credit union where I can get through to a person and be treated with respect. Very sad state of affairs!

Horrible experience with getting responses. Kindness leaves a lot to be desired. No issue getting loans anywhere else, but their special offer was appealing. It isn’t worth the horrible customer service, as it appears customer care is not a value for them.

I applied for a home equity loan and went through the entire process. The paperwork showed that the appraisal would be $250 however, when it came time to do the appraisal we were told that ours would cost $400 with no explanation why. We decided to go ahead with it and the appraiser came out. The appraisal came in way low and the appraiser documented totally false information on the appraisal. Also, he gave comps that were not appropriate. When I pointed this out I was told that I could do an appeal of the appraisal. I did the appeal and the appraiser corrected the false statements and also said that if I could find better comps he would use those. I complained about this botched appraisal and asked for a refund of the fee since we paid such a high price for it. We were refused the refund. This would have been the only appropriate resolution to this problem.

I have been banking here for a while now. I had a problem one time where I had been charged an overdraft fee for a bill being taken out before the correct date. Credit Union of Ohio was there when I called and they talked to me about it for 20 minutes until everything was taken care of. Much better than any large chain bank that I have ever gone through. Highly recommended!

Being a member of Credit Union of Ohio was a great experience. You really can't go wrong with a good credit union. Most megabanks out there will rip you off and try and take every last penny they can from you. Charging you to store your money with them, with all their fees? I don't see how that makes sense, Luckily with credit unions, like CU of Ohio, you won't have to worry about ridiculous fees and from a nickel and diming institution. I never had any problems with CU of Ohio, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Credit Union of Ohio was my first real checking account after college. My parents recommended them to me as they were very valuable to them throughout their lives. They provide excellent customer service and have very fair interest rates. I purchased my first home through them, which made the process quite easy.

When my wife was helping out a friend who moved to the area this credit union was our first recommendation to get our situated with a bank in the area. She has had nothing but good things to say about Credit Union of Ohio. We will continue to recommend them to friends and family!

The Credit Union of Ohio is a very "by the number" banking institute as far as dealing
with checks and balances. During my time with them, I never had any real problems, nor did anything out of the ordinary happen. Their customer service reps were extremely nice and helpful with whatever issue I may have had. There weren't a ton of options for loans or anything else besides banking, but for the options that were offered the fees were very reasonable. Overall, business was done right during my year here, and if I ever needed a no nonsense place to bank, I would definitely return.

I know that honestly in the end, most credit unions/banks are the same. They basically provide you with a safe way to store your money. After that, anything is just a bonus. I really appreciate good customer service and the credit union of Ohio really seemed to do that for me. They guided me through the process of getting the account and I really appreciated their help. Since then, I haven't really needed much financial advice, but I'm sure they would give it to me if I asked. I'm fairly happy that I chose them for my checking account. I would recommend giving them a try if you are in their area.

The customer service at Credit Union of Ohio is really the best! No matter what is going on they are always friendly and helpful, plus the website is easy to use for us computer illiterates. I really love them even more since my old car quit running and I applied for a car loan. If I had known it would be so easy to apply and the rates so affordable I may have done it before my old clunker broke down, but either way I now have decent transportation. I'm only sad that I had to switch credit unions due to a job change; otherwise I'd still be with Credit Union of Ohio!

My wife is from Ohio and when I married her I was able to join the Credit Union of Ohio. They seem to really have a handle on things. The people who work there are extremely helpful and will answer any questions you might have. They did not get me any attitude when I asked basic banking questions. When we approached them about a car loan they were very helpful and honest. The person who worked with us even gave us a heads up that we might get a better rate somewhere else. I couldn’t believe their honesty. It was a very good banking experience.
