There was a local branch in my college town and I promptly opened my account my first day of school. I also got to know the branch manager and several of the tellers that worked there for many years. I had a part-time job and visited the bank weekly to deposit my earnings and get some spending money when needed.
Dairy State Bank took the time to contact me on more than one occasion when my balance was a little low instead of automatically penalizing my account with overdraft fees. I was always given a chance to make things right before they went horribly wrong, and I appreciated it so much that to this day, many years after my graduation, I maintain a savings account with Dairy State Bank. I make a deposit any time I am in the area and though the employees have changed over the years, the service has not. It is still a very friendly place where no one is treated like a stranger.
