This bank is obviously incompetent and dysfunctional. The NYS Banking Commissioner should investigate.
I went to this bank because of the great interest rate being offered on CDs. I was told, before I even had a chance to sit down the rate was dependent on opening a checking account with a $5,000 deposit - a bit much in my opinion. It was impossible to get a straight answer to a simple question - how much of a balance is required to be left in account to avoid fees and maintain the CD rate. I still have to figure that out. I told them to open five CDs in varying amounts and handed them a slip of paper with the amounts. After a very long wait I found they only opened one CD and the Checking account. After another long wait I was handed signature pages that had both my husband and my names spelled wrong. I was there almost TWO hours. I left with a few pieces of paper and a promise that debit cards would be mailed. Why did I stay? - I have very little free time and I needed this done. The amount that was deposited in the CDs was rather large and I wanted them to start earning interest. Will I open more accounts - NO! Will I leave more than what I find out is the minimum in that darn checking account - NO! If there is no minimum balance; I will leave 49 cents and let them carry the account until they go out of business or I die. AWFUL, and INCOMPETENT service.
