Jessica, who is a supervisor, said verbatim, "That's why you need to budget accordingly." Honestly, what professional person tells their customers that before even hearing what's going on? They're not sympathetic to anyone; all they want is money. I tried to speak and let her know I get paid on the 4th and wouldn't be able to make a payment on the 1st, but she just said, "Well, that's why you have to budget." I felt shut down and just hung up. I have a family, rent, and other obligations. Gateway really needs better employees.

Shady company with shady practices. Wouldn't trust them with my phone number. My spouse had his car repossessed, and they are making him jump through hoops simply to retrieve his belongings from the car. Even if this is your last resort, find another option.

When my car was repossessed, they held it in a tow yard near me. They gave me the amount needed to reclaim my car. I had to go to a payment center at Walgreens in my neighborhood. After attempting to pay in cash three times, it didn't work. Once, because I tried to pay over $1000, but they don't accept payments over $1000, so I had to split it into two payments. It still didn't work—$996.00 plus a $3.99 payment fee still didn't go through. This is after calling customer service three times and following their suggestions. So by then, I'm frustrated. Something tells me to call the impound lot or the tow yard where my car is because it's near me, and it's getting close to closing time, and I won't be able to get my car back until Monday. Now, I just talked to Gateway, the guy at the impound lot on Wednesday, and he confirmed that my car is there and it will still be there today, Friday. I called the guy at the yard, and he told me they had sent my vehicle to an auction yard a lot further away. When I talk to the representative, all she can say is that's how it is and they have no control over it. It sounds like they don't want me to get my car back.

So I have always made my payments, maybe late a couple of times, but I have always made them. Well, I've had my Nissan Maxima for three years now. Like any car, it started having problems, so I called Gateway Financial, and Matt was very helpful and understanding. He does deserve a raise. Very respectful and nice! So, I gave 5 stars because of his customer service.

Got an Explorer through them, made every payment for over a year, traded it in... Yeah, that's when it started. Found out they didn't even help my credit rating; they did me wrong the first time. Not only that, but they took money out of my account twice. I had to go to the bank after the lady through Gateway denied it. Don't trust these guys.

The place is a complete joke! I pay $470 a month for a 2009 Honda Civic SI. I totally understand that this isn't their decision. I got the car in December of 2022, and I have had nothing but issues with the vehicle since then. Go figure, the warranty doesn't cover any of it. To get to work, I've had to pay out of pocket to fix it, which has put me behind on my loan payments. They agreed to take half payments weekly just to keep the car out of repossession and drained my finances. They still repossessed the car for being short $6.64! Now they want $1100 to get the car back and continue to add payments every other week. It's tough not having a car at the moment, but I've decided not to stress over trying to get it back. I'm not paying for something that doesn't benefit me.

I thought it was a great place after reviewing my contract, vehicle was 22,000 paid a down payment of $2500, and still will pay $54,000 for the vehicle.
