Greenville Federal Credit Union

I have been a customer with GFCU for over 40 years and have financed several car and personal loans. I was recently declined for a personal loan to update my bathroom because I was late on an overdraft payment in 2022. As a retired teacher, I was recently granted a mortgage loan with South Carolina Federal Credit Union, so my credit is not a problem. Do not bank with GFCU! I highly recommend South Carolina Federal Credit Union.

I went into the lobby of greer branch today, I made a withdral with teller by phone & requested to speak to customer service agent about changing a monthly withdral on my checking account. The lady was very nice & said she would tell them & for me to take a seat in the lobby. I did as she told me to. Then the young lady attending the the service station in the lobby ask what I was waiting for, I told her I was waiting to speak with customer service about changing a monthly withdrawl. She said all of them were very busy & maybe she could help. So I told her what it was about & she told me to go home and call the company & handle it myself. I told her thank you & sorry I bothered her & left. She should have minded her own business. I just wasted my time with her. I will give her 1 star because I cannot give her a zero star. Thank you.

I've been banking with the GFCU for over 30 years. During all these years, I've always received exceptional service! Today, 6/27/22, I applied for a personal loan. Heidiann Paulus Duru assisted me in in processing my loan request. I assumed it would take several days before I would know anything. Even with me making a mistake when signing the on-line documents, the entire process was completed in a couple of hours. Heidi never lost her patience and always treated me with the utmost respect!!! It is seldom l find this high quality of professionalism in the world today. Though I am not a million dollar customer, Heidi treated me as such!!! Thank you GFCU for choosing employees like Heidi that truly care about their customers!!!!

Main Branch on Wade Hampton - I have been banking here since 2005, and I used to love banking here because I had a relationship with the tellers. It was so friendly, but in the last few years, no so much. Although we are moving back to normal post pandemic, you still MUST go through drive through for all transactions, so NO privacy what so ever. You can hear all the other customers' business as you wait. There are 6 teller booths inside and someone at one of the booths, but they will not handle cash inside. If you do have a legitimate need to go into the lobby for something, they make you get in your car and then go through the drive thru to finish the transaction. Seriously?! If you miss something because you feel rushed since there is a line behind you, you must circle the block and get back in line.

They remodeled the lobby before the pandemic, and although it was barely used, they plan to remodel the lobby again. They will no have live tellers, just a video screen. So impersonal! They have lost what I loved about this place to begin with.

I was looking for a car loan and I walked into Greenville Federal Credit Union based on a friend’s recommendation. I was initially surprised by the quiet and peaceful environment. I could hardly find anyone in the office and later the person in charge of loans came over and I had a very pleasant conversation with her. She was kind enough to explain all the terms, conditions and details of all different kinds of loans I would be eligible for and finally recommended some types to me. I was so impressed and finally signed the papers looking at all the details. It was a very nice experience to deal with this credit Union and I got the car I wanted. Thank you Greenville FCU!!!
