There isn't a service I could select that is appropriate so I had to select one for our review. Have your tech person add "Other" to the selection. My mother was 91 yrs old and was taken under false pretenses to the HSFCU Kaimuki branch by a family member's boyfriend on a Saturday in April before they were closing to meet the family member to have 2 documents notorized. We called her lawyer and he recommended we call the family member to ask about the papers or take her back to HSFCU Kaimuki branch. My mom did not want to have anything to do with that family member. She felt betrayed and deceived. So we went to HSFCU Kaimuki branch. The person who notorized the papers was there. She was cold to my mom and as my mother was crying informed us that they do not keep copies. I asked about the ledger that's filled out by them recording information such as date, time, name of person wanting documents notorized, id check, n title of document. She told us she doesn't keep a record. I asked her, being how old my mom is and unable to hear, did she ask my mom does she understand what she just read or said, "Ma'am can you tell me what you just read?" She answered , "I didn't because it looked like your mom understood and was reading it because her eyes were scanning the papers." I then said my mother was instructed by you to initial by a zero. Then she said she recalled it was 2 documents, but couldn't recall basically what the documents said. My mom passed away a few months later and only then did that family member send us an email with the documents attached. I miss the other person who used to sit at the first cubicle on the right as you entered the Kaimuki branch. She was friendly, caring, kind, and personable. If she was there, this wouldn't have happened, because I know she would have asked my mom if she understood what she was signing and made it a point that my mom understood before signing it and ask for a doctor's certificate indicating my mom was of fit mind.

Hawaii State FCU is great, i always get excellent service each time i interact with this financial institution. Each representative is friendly and very helpful via the phone or in person. This is my bank and proud to support Hawaii accounts to our island!
I’ve been a HSFCU member for a few decades now, using them as my PRIMARY financial institution, and have been depositing UTMA checks from the same company for the last seven years to pay for tuition (i.e., reliable source of checks). HSFCU-Pearlridge has not put a hold on those checks for a while now. I had unfortunately gone to the HSFCU-Miliani this time and they REFUSED to waive the hold and they put it in the UTMA account that I cannot access online or by phone which would require me to go back to the HSFCU in ten days (not COVID-19 ideal). So I told them I would drive to Pearlridge instead. Miliani then calls Pearlridge (SHADY!!!) and Pearlridge for the first time in years puts a hold on the tuition checks in the UTMA account I cannot access online, stating that due to COVID-19 people have been doing desperate things. Clearly HSFCU is out to protect their own interest and not the interest of their long term customers. So as we all are faced with financial struggles during this devastating COVID-19 time, my family is faced with paying tuition late (additional fee) or scraping together the out-of-state tuition for my daughter. Needless to say, I’m going to look for an alternate primary banking institution immediately!
One of the most anticipated refreshers for new credit voyagers to embark on and also feeling of accomplishment when it comes to establish ones credit.! A exonerating feeling such as this is definately a surreal inspirated motivational esteem to keep ones precipricated view of balancing their financial portfolio at its peak performance.!
I am thrilled to be a part of this credit union for most of my life. My parents set up an account here for me after my first birthday, where they deposited most of the money I received from relatives on special occasions. I completely forgot about this account when I left for college but eventually remembered and checked it as soon as I moved home. I was shocked to find that my savings account remained untouched and growing steadily, even though I imagined that most other banks or credit unions would have begun charging dormant fees by then. I knew at that point that I could really trust HSFCU to truly look out for me and not be a fee-hungry financial institution, and opened a checking account there not long after I got my first full-time job.
Hopefully the HSFCU membership continues to grow, along with their services and benefits. But more importantly, I hope their dedication to their members remains as strong as I've found it to be. I look forward to continuing my family tradition by someday opening an account for my future kid(s) there!

I love the Hawaii State Credit Union because they make the process of loans easier on you. I did a car loan and it has been relaxing ever since because they never have to call me and i never have to update or change anything. The reason i only did 4 stars on customer service is because they are relaxed but they dont smile or try to make conversation with you which i always think is nice.

Hawaii State Federal Credit Union Is the best! I worked with them because i needed a car loan and i was so nervous. I called them and they told me to stop by on a certain date and i did. I thought, 'Oh no they are going to make me do tons of paperwork. Nope! I got barely any paperwork and i got to have a plan that was convenient for both me and Hawaii State Federal Credit Union. I highly recommend that if you aren't with them already, you should start now!

I was previously a member of Bank of Hawaii and as soon as I found out about the extremely low interest rates for car loans and personal loans I was sold. The interest rates that I was provided with were 2% lower than the ones Bank of Hawaii provided. The process of getting the loan was also very quick. Unlike a bank, they understand that sometimes getting your loan approved quickly is important. It took my loan 2 weeks to get approved at Bank of Hawaii but this credit union had provided me with my cash within just a few days. I’m a proud member.
I have a Hawaii State FCU savings account and they have a really good rate considering most banks are only at around 0.1% APR. I don't really go too often because I only have a savings account there, but when I do have to go they have pretty good customer service. My fiance tried to get a home equity line of credit with them but at the time we didn't have enough equity. They were nice enough to allow us to only have to pay for the appraisal. That was probably the best customer service we received in a banking setting. Their loan rates are also relatively low but we have found a lower loan rate at Hickam FCU.
