I unfortunately accepted a cash offer on my home that was contingent on the Buyer CLOSING on his home in Sunland, CA., already under contract. That Buyer of the Sunland Property used BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY and HOMESERVICES LENDING and had already been approved. Didn't sound too bad being cash and all but I have learned a lesson - never accept a contingency, and if you hear the words BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY and their lender HOMESERVICES LENDING don't waste your time! Run Run Run. That closing should have taken place on Dec. 24th - 6th weeks. I vacated the house and have been making two mortgage payments. They couldn't just provide a list of documents they needed - it was one by one - so unorganized. HOMESERVICES LENDING should be shut down for total incompetence. I am now told it will close next week - ALMOST 3 MONTHS TO CLOSE. And that's only if it actually happens. I've bought 9 homes in my life and none of those escrows took that long. The stress has been unbearable.

BEWARE - POZOR - TENER CUIDADOL - STRZEC SIE - SAUGTIS - DIFFIDARE - (different languages for BEWARE) I am writing on behalf of another, who is in the mist of experiencing what everyone else has stated prior. A 1st time home buyer should not have to go through what they are experiencing - beyond awful, just painful to hear what is happening. Stay away from this company, from what I have heard it sounds like they don't even audit their own work (incorrect spelling, figures do not match, etc)...and worse - JerkServices Lending blame the applicant - no accountability and definitely they do not communicate with you when things start going south... how they are staying in business is anyone's guess. Again this was heard from another - BUT If you need a reference for a mortgage company in Illinois go to Fairway Mortgage - they truly will make your lending needs a fabulous experience, especially for a first time home buyer.

Home Buyer BEWARE (From a New Yorker moving to Milwaukee). Stay CLEAR of this company. They do not alert the buyer until last minute for high stress actions in order to close on a property and they do not provide visibility to the process leaving surprise phone calls to employers who are not aware of your home buying details. Our representative, Manley Haines was belligerent, short, and board line sexist to my fiancé on the phone multiple times and his lack of professionalism proved true when I arrived to my closing in Milwaukee from New York and the lawyer at the closing had very choice words about Manley's performance as a representative. Not only did he not go through details of must haves before closing but he takes no fault or provide any positive steps to correct what was done and undone including having my fiancé taken off of our deed because a document was not present which nearly stopped the closing. So, to their President CEO Maureen Salmon ([email protected]) and her incompetent company, don't quit your day jobs because you are far from being a company anyone searching for a stress free experience when buying a home in a new state should ever experience.

I have purchased 9 homes in my lifetime so far, and this company brought me to my knees. The underwriters had all the required information two months before closing, yet repeatedly asked for the same information. When we specifically asked, we were told three times that our application was complete, only to receive email requests for more information (which they had). Most disconcerting was their inability to understand all but the simplest of tax returns. They demanded "all pages" of a schedule E when only one was required on the already filed return. They asked me to explain a prior "short sale".......but I never had one. Our credit scores were great and our incomes easily supported the loan, but three days prior to closing we honestly weren't sure it would happen. The kicker? We paid about $500 more than had we gone with a local bank. Use anyone other than this company.

By far the WORST home buying experience, ever. I clearly see why this company is not recommended to any buyer ready to purchase a house. Unprofessional staff, definitely did not have the home buyer interest at heart.

Communication was lacking. The officer either was inexperienced with schedule C or simply didn't do his job and carefully look it over causing a major setback a week before closing. I will never use them again or recommend in the future. My choice would be TJC or Benchmark. Stay away from this unhelpful outfit.

Loan officer, underwriter, supervisors... all completely awful. Denied my final loan application 3 days before closing and nothing changed. Why the heck did they even pre-approve me? Do not trust this company with your life.

There's no real use explaining the details-- Just awful all-around. Unprofessional, unprepared and unhelpful. Communication was infrequent and lazy. Look anywhere else for your lending needs. ANYWHERE else.

I have purchased and refinanced many homes over the years, but this was by far the worst experience I have experienced as far as a mortgage company. Charles Rusnak and others who assisted me were either overworked or procrastinators. It was not unusual to get an email at 7,8 or 9:00 at night advising they needs documents scanned and emailed to them before midnight. Thank goodness I would check my email in the evenings. You would think if it was so important that they would pick up the phone and call, but that never happened. The icing on the cake happened on closing day. I showed up at the title company at my scheduled time, and I was advised by the title company that the mortgage company had not sent over the closing documents. I was advised to come back in 4 hours. I arrive back at the title company 4 hours later as requested and again the closing documents were not there. I had to wait at the title company for over 4 hours for the documents to arrive. By the time they arrived it was after 8:00PM, which meant I had spent a total of 5 hours at the title company. Thank goodness the representative at the title company was nice enough to stay until the documents were received, since I was advised they would have to be signed the date they were generated or the close would not happen. The entire time I was stuck at the title company, I had many conversations with Mr. Rusnak and of course he blamed the title company. However, it was clear it was not the title company. Mr.Rusnak assured me that I would be compensated for my time since I had to use an entire vacation day because of spending 5 hours waiting for their paperwork. I was told to just stay calm and he would send a gift card for all of the inconvenience. I was also told that evening that I would hear from the head of their company. It has now been over 4 months and I have yet to receive the gift card or my phone call from Home Lending Services. I would strongly recommend anyone who is considering a mortgage to look elsewhere.

I usually don't write reviews, but this one is well deserved. I applied for a loan with the Leawood, KS office (Charles Rusnak). Our loan was a 90 day close. It was one of the worst experiences I have had applying and buying a home. I have purchased two other homes in my life. First of all this office never communicates unless you send an email or call them. You don't know what stage the loan is at, mainly because they wait till the last minute to start working on your loan. I had sent paperwork via FedEx three different times and still the week of the loan we were scanning and emailing paperwork the whole week. If that wasn't bad enough, we were resending the same paperwork because there was such a lack of communication and coordination of paperwork on the team, mainly because the team manager chose to take a vacation the week we closed and his assistant as well. We had two people working on our loan who really had no idea what they had already received and would request the same information we had sent them previously. This man is a poor manager and could care less about his clients. I was told that we could change our interest rate up to 7 days before the loan closed, but no, he never even checked into that. My own bank had a lower interest rate. I called them and ask them if I would have qualified with the information they ask me and they said definitely yes. I didn't get the lowest interest rate because of him. I find him very unprofessional and the last straw was that he told my realtor that I was the problem we didn't close on the original date. Actually, it was he who was the problem because he chose to start our loan too late and then decided to take a vacation on top of that. If you are smart use some other company there are plenty to choose from. I would not trust this company especially this man. We had a 90 day close there is no reason why we didn't close on time and outrageous mix-up of paperwork and with the best interest rate. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!
