I own two companies and discussed moving my insurance to them mid-term. The below email is how I was treated when they wouldn't give me a quote.
Thank you, Brad. I fully respect your position, and I understand your stance on the financial side of the businesses.
As I have said in the past, clients hire us because they trust we are the best firm to represent them across the entire insurance marketplace. And as your advisor, it is our job to work to find better terms, conditions, and pricing. If appointed your broker, we can confirm your current pricing won't change in the interim.
However, we will work to market the account to see if savings are available. We then supplement our negotiated insurance program with loss control services, claims advocacy, and a variety of other resources that should help your rates and premiums improve over time.
If you are unable to put your trust in us as the sole broker to properly service your account and effectively market your accounts to our extensive marketplace, with the goal of driving down premiums in mind, then it may be best for us to part ways at this point in time. Harrison Cox, CLCS

Absolutely terrible experience. This company took money out of my mother's bank account days before the payment was due, even though I was in the process of updating my payment information. There was no clear communication, and trying to reach someone by phone was nearly impossible.
I even showed up in person days prior during posted business hours, only to find the doors locked. When I finally spoke to someone, I was laughed at and accused of lying for being upset over their mistake! Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I ended up canceling my policy because of how rude and dismissive the staff was, and took my business to a different broker with the same insurance company, and found out they actually upcharged me by $50. If they had simply communicated properly or handled things with respect, this could have been avoided. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Save yourself the stress and take your business elsewhere.

Impossible to get anyone on to do anything without going through their online forms. I have over a million-dollar portfolio, and they expected me to fill out forms online instead of meeting with me in person or on the phone. I told them I'm looking elsewhere.

During my last car insurance renewal by phone, I was treated in a very condescending manner. I had difficulty understanding the broker. However, I got through the experience because I'd done it before many times. I had to ask him to repeat himself numerous times, and he kept saying things like, "I thought you had done this before" and "Do you want me to call you back when you figure it out?" His tone was very condescending. While he was on his computer doing his broker work, he kept making odd noises like grunts. I could hear all the people in his office talking and laughing. At one point, my broker yelled to somebody, "Shut the ….. up man!" I am not making this up! This was a horrible experience.

For years, we had the same broker/ at HUB—he was great. Then he retired!… Now the new broker provides: lousy service and a preferred commitment to writing policies with "Intact" insurance. I jumped ship, used a different company and broker, saving thousands of dollars on our business insurance Expensive lesson learned . Never - “ Ever” , Will I use HUB again! They “ USED” me!

I have had a home insurance policy with Hub International Insurance for over 10 years. With one claim of loss due to water damage a few years ago, that was covered. Recently, I also experienced a loss due to a third party's responsibility. This means the loss coverage was subrogated through a third party's insurance, and Aviva—the insurance carrier—would not be paying for the loss. Then, about a week after the claim was fulfilled and two weeks before my renewal, I was denied continued home insurance coverage, with no reason given. I contacted my agent at Hub International, named Jeff, and he stated that the insurance policy was not being renewed and was lapsing for no given reason. He then mentioned that I would have trouble getting a new policy because I would have to disclose that the insurance company had dropped me. Although there was no reason given why they had dropped me, I'm not sure what information I would have to provide to another carrier about why I was dropped, as no reason existed.
To be clear, I only had two claims, one of which was not my fault but rather due to a third party and was again subrogated to the third party's responsibility. Jeff at Hub then stated that he didn't think he would be able to get me coverage again anywhere and that I would have to go to another agency to seek coverage. I'm writing this review because I want to warn anybody thinking of dealing with Hub International Insurance or subsequently with Aviva Insurance. I question their ethics and their business practices and see their actions as not being totally legitimate or above board. If you're thinking of dealing with Hub Insurance, don't—big mistake!

I had a local and very responsive insurance company for 35 years. This company was taken over by The HUB. Travelers canceled our home insurance. The automated switchboard had no company voice greeting and the response time was slow. The agent was not local and would not assist us in disputing the cancellation. No other options were provided except to go elsewhere. After a month of this, we are going to another company.

The worst! I called in December to renew my insurance, but my representative never returned my calls or emails. It is now February! I tried to speak with someone in charge and was transferred to a supervisor, but I only got their voicemail. I left a message for them to call me back, and it has now been two weeks with no response. Is this how you run a business? They claim to care about their clients? Avoid this sham company. It's no way to run a business. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. I certainly will. Read the other reviews and not just on this site. I am not alone. Interestingly, after posting this review, I received a call from HUB Insurance. Is this the way they do business? Need a call... write a bad review, and we'll respond within hours. What does that say about trust? Beware, beware, beware.

Day 3 of trying to add to my current policy and no one has responded. I have phoned, emailed, and gone online to MyAccount with zero success. Without insurance, I cannot get a license plate or register my unit. Once they have you as a client, they ghost you! Not happy with customer service.

We have several vehicles to insure and were very dissatisfied with our former insurance broker. We went to HUB International located in Duncan, BC, and spent some time with Jillian Thomson. She was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and patient with us, explaining all of our options. We will be going to her in the future for all of our auto insurance needs.

Avoid dealing with this company, they have sold me a Hazard Insurance policy that only paid about 1/3 of what it would require to repair the damage due to Water leak that left my Kitchen’s ceiling, wall, Kitchen Cabinets and subfloor in need of replacement.

Guy still has yet to call me back or email me! terrible business relations never use theses people very bad service many emails to this company and the guy they assigned me to who said I will get back to you Never did , very sad. I have many emails to prove I touched base regularly and half the time never a reply back. A month almost goes by and still no quote simply sad. I was only looking for personal liability for personal training I sent all documents maybe I was forgotten ? oh wait that's right I sent follow up emails with proof they sent and still nothing. Run from this company . You get a 1 star for that if there was a half star I'd rather go with that. This company doesn't even want to talk to you over the phone only by email. Something wrong with that all on its own .

You won’t ever get a call back only way you will is if you call in and say I need to speak to a supervisor or manager and be direct don’t let them pull your chain. But in my opinion your better off with another company if they can’t take your business on day 1 then that’s not loyalty to me think about what the service will be like going forward.

I went to HUB International Insurance Brokers and saw Insurance Advisor AMELIA..she asked me questions that my “regular “ insurance advisor has never asked me and found that I was able to receive a discount. Working for Fraser Health employees are able to receive a discount on our car insurance and my former insurance advisor was never able to fill out the paperwork properly so I never received it but AMELIA was aware of this discount and even had a copy of the forms on file and filled them out promptly..the whole experience was very positive ?

I worked here they don't need anything from you other than the basics to give you a quote, now if your buying the policy they will need that to confirm you have a policy in place as some companies will only write you if you have a existing policy. Most companies like this if you say you have for example progressive home policy they can look up your existing policy and then price match abd knock off a few things here and there but as a experienced agent who knows what he's doing should know what you need on your policy by asking questions.
The reason it's increasing is due to reconstruction cost as everything has gone up in price. For example cost of a piece of plywood use to be $15 in 2018 now in 2024 it's $45. So if something was to happen to your home to replace it or rebuild it at todays price it will cost a lot more. The cost of labor is also crazy expensive before you could build a decent deck for...
