We've been customers for a few years now. I had to go on medical leave and for planning purposes we contacted them about the possibility of skipping a car payment and a truck payment just to be safe. As it turns out, because our payments have been on auto-pay for the entire duration of our loans and we pay half of a car payment every two weeks, we were actually two months ahead on our car payment. We were advised by the representative on the phone that we didn't need to skip a payment because nothing was due until October. This was in July, and we also checked their website which confirmed nothing was due in September. They have since stated that it was too early for the website to show us that. However, on September 12, I took an additional screenshot indicating zero dollars due on September 5. Yet, they continue to harass us for a payment. They said it was too soon for the website to reflect that anything was due, but how can seven days after the due date be too soon for the website to update? Moreover, if the website is incorrect, then the live representative should not have confirmed that we were two months ahead. The fact that we were ahead made sense since there are some months when we pay one and a half car payments because we pay half of one every two weeks. Furthermore, when my husband asked them to retrieve the recording of the call, the representative claimed that we acknowledged that we owed a payment in September, which did not happen. I was right next to my husband during the conversation, and we even discussed what the website stated with the representative. When my husband requested to listen to the call, she said she didn't know if we were allowed to hear it. So, they record your calls and refuse to let you listen to them to validate what was said. Not only is their website inaccurate, but they are also harassing us. We have never been late with a car payment, and this is how they treat loyal customers. Now, they are offering to let us skip payments that should not have already been due if we pay an extra $50. I do have a timestamped screenshot showing that seven days after the date they claim the payment was due, it indicated we had zero due.

Horrible - absolute crooks. Had a loan for almost 4 years, never late, never missed. Problems started when I traded the vehicle in - they put up every roadblock preventing dealer payoff. Then they report to my credit on 10/3 "paid off", also on the same day, "Loan is late" on 10/3! They caused the issue! These folks are horrible, do not go here... unscrupulous.

Absolutely the worst place to get a loan from. These people are rude and extremely intrusive if you miss your payment. I refinanced with this company and it was the worst decision I ever made! Don't walk, run away from this place! Not even worth the one star.

I have a very high credit score (825+) and rarely ever allow someone to pull my credit unless I have terms up front. Though I asked for a complete set of terms, Inova did not disclose conditions for the refinancing of their loans such as an outrageous 150% gap coverage on all financed vehicles, or that if they are loaning you more than $50,000, they need a fully documented loan, which just takes way too much time to deal with.
They also will try to sell you extended third-party warranties, disability, and death benefit insurance, and try to get you to cancel any other extended warranty you might have with a dealership. Their rates were better than what I currently have, but I'm not jumping through all those hoops, especially since I asked upfront, and none of that was disclosed before they pulled my credit.
The young lady was very nice, and she stated that the underwriters did not disclose these conditions to her, but they should have. No one should be sending salespeople out into the world without being armed with a full suite of conditions. It's unfair to her and it's unfair to the customer.
I will not do business with this Credit Union in the future. I don't do business with people who bait and switch with their conditions. I bear a certain amount of responsibility for not reading the fine print on the back, but I generally take people at their word. My mistake doing that with these guys.

This refinancing company seems primarily focused on collecting personal information. They send frequent mail encouraging you to refinance with a lower interest rate. However, after you fill out the forms, they require a large down payment and only offer a small amount based on your car's value. That's why many people choose not to move forward — and unfortunately, they still end up with your personal details.

They never deposited our money into the CD after we completed all the paperwork, and now they don't return our calls. One woman was kind and forwarded the issue to her boss, but they never addressed it.

If they send you a letter claiming they can reduce your car payment with a lower interest rate, don't bother to respond. They can do nothing! You end up with the same payment, but they perform a credit search that negatively affects your score. It's nothing but a scam!

I have never come across absolute incompetence in this office handling my money than Inova. They absolutely do not know what they are doing. You call and the people who answer do not understand what you are talking about—their answer is, "I'll have someone call you before 4 PM." Weeks go by, and nothing happens. When my CD comes due, I'm out of there. The last call I made to them, I was told I have no CD there. Absolute incompetence.

Looking at the current 2.7 stars, which is horrible for any business, I can understand why the reviews are so bad. With my experience, they gave me false hopes on a car refinance. Patrick Feola completely wasted my time and made it seem like all he needed was one more document to approve the loan, then denied me because of my debt to ratio income, which was not too far off from the qualifications for the loan. I feel like he could have made an exception, considering that all other qualifications were met. Maybe I should go bleach my skin, change my name to Betty White, and try again lol. This company may just be another Wells Fargo if you get my drift. The only difference is that I didn't apply for a mortgage. Why mail me an offer stating that I'm qualified, but then deny me? Now I have a HUGE credit hit for nothing. Ultimately, I'm glad I don't have to deal with this bank since the majority seems to think they're horrible as well.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I refinanced with them, and all was good for about 6 months when I fell behind due to personal reasons. I got caught back up, and they keep saying I’m still a month behind every single month. In total I’ve been paying a little over $1000 a month for my $540 car loan to keep them from repossessing it (and yes I still have the receipts). As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, this is seriously draining. And even though I’ve been paying about $1000 a month for six months now, my balance hasn’t dropped a dime. Gonna see if they make me pay another grand and if so, I’m going to a lawyer about this. Dont trust Inova Federal.

This isn’t even my credit card. I haven’t authorized or signed anything approving this credit card. I have sent letters to this company and called. Im in the process of a lawsuit under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I will be seeking damages as this has dropped my credit score being on my credit.

This is a predatory lender that will use the bait and switch and tactic to get your business. As far as auto refinancing, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The low interest and lowered payment that they say is "pre-approved" is untrue and will just ding your credit with a check. My letter stated a 4.3% interest and after everything was done it ended up being over 10% which is much higher than my current rate. Avoid, there are better companies that can help you if you are in need.

Not sure if they give the best rates. Although my credit score increased by over 40 points and my debt to income remained the same, they offered me no lower interest rate internally. Very disappointing.
