I have been with them for many years, and it appears that recently they have started engaging in unfair practices regarding the payment of interest on my Intelligent checking account. The 12 monthly ATM transactions were limited to 8 transactions just 2 days before the end of the month. Right after my account was locked, I had an hour-long call with my Cascade branch to unlock my account. They finally confirmed that my account was unlocked and I could complete my 12 transactions, only to find out that they were not truthful about it. So I tried to call again but got the after-hours message. My account remained locked until the next day, April 30th, which meant I no longer qualified to earn over $100 in interest.

I have been with IQ for nearly 9 years now, and it has been fraught with issues, at least one every year. These range from my accounts being hacked and funds stolen due to inadequate security, to the most recent event where I cashed a check from my current employer through IQ's ATM, which initially approved the transaction only to later reverse it, resulting in a negative balance of $800 in my account. The lady on the phone was disrespectful and simply stated that they couldn't help, that the check was returned to me and it would take 2-5 business days to arrive, after which I'd need to bring it in. Like everyone else, I have bills to pay, and despite my check being initially approved, it was later invalidated with the reason given that they couldn't "read it," even though it was accepted by the ATM. I also have a car loan with them and am now trying to figure out how to extricate myself from this unsatisfactory credit union. I would advise against banking with IQ, as I am not a satisfied customer.

Hi Helen, we’re sorry this happened. Having a check accepted at the ATM and later reversed is understandably frustrating, and it’s clear this experience didn’t meet the level of service we aim to provide. We’ve shared your feedback with our team to help us improve. If you’re open to reconnecting, we’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and see how we can make things right.

We've only been dealing with IQ for the past year. We have had nothing except friendly, knowledgeable employees to help us. We deal with the Stevenson office. Very happy with them, their attitude, and the service. Looking forward to dealing with them for a long time.

Tried to open a joint checking account. Already had a car loan with them, so already a member, this should be easy. Went in and they wanted SS card, Driver License, recent pay stub, recent paper utility bills (didn't have these). Went back again and they charged me $35 because my name changed when I got married and that I would have to wait for that to complete before I could continue. Said I could apply for the joint account online instead. I did, sent them pictures of mine and my spouse's ID documents, and they did a hard pull on my TransUnion report that was blocked because it's frozen. I unfroze it for a week and they claimed it was still frozen and that it may take 24 hours to register as unfrozen. So I froze and unfroze again and they claimed they still couldn't pull. I sent them a screenshot of the freeze schedule from TransUnion. They didn't respond. I emailed them the next day to remind them and they immediately pulled and it worked this time. My guess is that they didn't even try after the first time. Then they asked me to go into the branch again to give them the same ID documents. What a waste of my time. They don't want my business, so they don't get it.
Revised down to one star because they have asked me to change my password twice in the last week and still haven't changed my name. Now they have locked me out of my online account.
Instead I opened a joint account at Columbia Credit Union in branch, in about 30 minutes. They didn't need all the paperwork. I unfroze my Equifax report and they were able to pull my credit 5 minutes later. They have similar branch locations, lower fees, and the rates are the same or better than IQ.

I have had a car loan with IQ for 4 years. It has been nothing but problems since the beginning. I have had to dispute my credit score history due to issues with this Union. I was told there would be a skip a pay on my account at the beginning of the year. I continued to make payments and now they are saying I owe them an outrageous amount of money. They constantly call my phone and always say the are taking notes or updating my information but nothing ever changes. Magically after calling them out on wanting an explanation to the payment history issue, the lady I spoke with told me she could see all of the payments being posted including during the month a skip a pay was suppose to happen, she had no explanation for why they were saying I was 6 MONTHS behind. (Funny because after 2 months they would repo the vehicle???) She stated she wasn't sure what was going on and would contact me back by the end of the day. 5 days later and I still haven't heard anything from them. I had my credit score drop drastically because they reported I wasn't paying. After starting the process of this complaint I did further research into what I have paid and what my balance on my loan is. My loan including interest was 16,830. I have had the loan for 4 years this month with a payment of 293 a month. Over the course of 4 years that would mean I have paid 14,064 however my remaining balance is still at 10,829. The math doesn't add up and quite frankly I am extremely frustrated with this business. This Credit Union has been nothing but a joke since the start and I would never recommend someone to this place. I have worked for a bank before and this is not the way to treat your clients

Been with this credit union for about 40 years. Opened some savings accounts about 4 or 5 years ago to match any money they, my grandkids put in, I'd put in. These accounts were tied to me for managing, balancing and everything else associated with bank accounts. Went in to print to PDF, 2 of the account balances and all of sudden no access. These technical folks changed it so my grandkids could sign in but I no longer can sign in. Of course, my grandkids never sign in. They don't even know how much is in the account. After over an hour on the phone, I now have to go in with their legal guardian, one of their parents and sign forms so I can get back into the account. Seems to me that if they can set it up with me 4 + years ago and I have been managing and they have been associated to my personal account, they could go in a fix their screw up. But, NOPE, they are happy to inconvenience their members because of their terrible communication. I'm pretty sick and tired of their inconveniences Richard LeBlanc

You do NOT want to have an auto loan through this credit union. It's not worth the headache. When trying to resolve an issue with my loan, every person I spoke with on the phone told me it "wasn't their job" to provide me with the information and documents that were being asked for by my insurance company FROM THEM. I consistently got the run-around from iQ and had to jump through so many hoops to get what I needed from them. Save youself from the hassel and stress. Don't do it. Don't go through this credit union.

Don't buy their phony flannel facade! After paying off my credit card balance I had a small balance left the next month, less than $25.00. I thought I set the full amount to transfer over but it apparently didn't happen. TWO months later with no notification whatsoever, they report me late to the credit bureau. When I called to straighten things out, they refused to help me at all. The best part? That payment I was "late on" was all of 29 cents!
I would have expected this from a big bank. That is the very reason I go local. I'm returning to On Point. They do not have as many branches in my area but I'm willing to deal with the inconvenience.

August 2019 iQ credit union is behaving more like a Big Bank with outrageous business cash deposit fees. This means after a certain amount, a percentage of the cash you deposit will immediately disappear with iQ's new money grabbing policy. This includes paper checks deposited regardless if it's through an ATM or human teller. iQ rep says other banks do it. Yeah, BANKS like US Bank and BofA but this is a local credit union designed to serve its members. As if loan interest, minimum balance fees, wire transfer and other banking fees weren't enough; it now appears theft of business checking funds is an additional revenue stream. Very business un-friendly in our opinion.

If only they had a no star option. We had gotten a car loan through them years ago, paid off but still (as required) had a savings account with $5.94 in it. I know, raining money. lol I sent my husband to close the account as we just weren't going to be using them, they were in Washington, we were in Oregon. They charged $2 before they would close the account!! And then they only returned $5, shorted us .94 cents. There math doesn't add up and I will never do business with them or recommend them EVER!

i just wanted to write and let you know of my EXTREAM disgust at your institution. as a "member" of you credit union I find your money grubbing and predatory banking practices completely unacceptable. The fact that you will not loan to or accept applications from someone who may have fallen on hard times due to life events in the past but now is making 90k+ a year, could EASILY repay the total load in 1 week, and who was looking for a hand UP, not a hand OUT is disgusting. you as an institution disgust me and should be ashamed of yourselves. you represent yourself as a community bank and yet shit all over the part of the community that needs your ability the most. I wish that my time in the military we could have treated people in need as poorly as you, it would probably saved me from having to deal with the ptsd i have on account of trying to HELP under privileged people. shame on you. shame on the whole money grubbing lot of you. i will be looking to close my account as quickly as possible and letting a more DESERVING instatution profit off of MY hard earned money. i wish you no joy, and may god have mercy on your souls.
