Terrible service in handling beneficiary distributions. I can't believe they made mistakes in the checks that were sent out, wouldn't give information on the correct amount, and haven't called the executor of the estate to let them know of the situation. Very irresponsible for a financial institution.

BEWARE! They are going to hold your funds for at least five days after they have been deducted from the account they are drawn on. No lie, you will not have the use of your funds for at least one week! Good luck if you needed those funds.

I've been a member for almost 20 years and had a great relationship with the bank. I took our multiple car loans with good rates. While no longer my primary bank, I kept my savings, checking, and Visa accounts open until I realized they created a new checking account and required you to opt-in to stay in my current account. Since I rarely use the account I hadn't paid attention to the fact that they moved me into a checking account the requires a $500 minimum or charges you $5 monthly. I only noticed after getting an overdraft notification even though I'd not used the account in over a year. I called to cancel my account and had the pleasure of speaking with one of the most smug customer service agents in recent memory. They also charge you $5 to send you any remaining money in your account. It all seems like a pure cash grab for an institution that doesn't appear to be hurting for money. Stay away.

I am a senior citizen and have an account with MSUFCU, Visa, loan and mortgage also. After processing my transfers for years, they sent my transfer back to my other Credit Union due to not showing the two digit on checking or savings? No notice before it transferred over wrong, they processed pmts. Their rep lied and said my other credit union required a different report every month. Not true at all.

Funny how I can qualify for my $385k mortgage, and two car loans but can't qualify for a checking account at MSUFCU. These people are a bunch of jokers. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

I could not talk to a live person and I was standing in the lobby. They do not want to provide in person service. When I get someone's attention, I had to answer too many questions. I did not expect to be such a burden for wanting a representative to deposit a check.

Not happy with my banking institution (for over 25 years). My Visa Card was set to pay off the full balance every month and has been this way for several years. At some point in 2019, I evidently made a payment for a set amount. Somehow, and I mean Somehow, I set if so that in November of 2021, this amount became my maximum monthly payment and ended my payment in full. Again, I evidently did this back in 2019... Regardless, I was looking up a particular purchase and noticed four finance charges over the past 5 months.
I immediately called the credit union and after several calls and much wasted time, they figured it out and credited me a portion (roughly 40%) of the Visa finance charges. They said it was only partial because of the time it took me to report the problem. Honestly, since my card is paid in full every month, I simply do not look at the itemized expenditures...Unless, I have a concern. It is not a lot of money and honestly, the time and stress to cure the problem are a much bigger cause for my review (as I take more of my time away from working to write this review).
Oh, they also advised me to get a special account, but did not advise me of the fact that any over draft of my primary account would not be covered by the special account, but would instead go to my credit card and accrue interest.
Ideally, I would remove my money from MSUFCU and go find a bank that is more appreciative of my longevity and investment with them, but alas, that will also take a great deal of my time, which of course, means costing me more money.
So, here I sit, hating my bank but not quite enough to go through the pain of starting over with a new financial institution...
What a world we live in!

I love this bank because they give low interest rates especially if you have good credit. I had a co-signer and they gave me the check for my car the next day. It only costed 10 dollars to donate to open a checking and savings. They offer no fees to transfer between accounts and give you a week to fix your overdrafted account. I had BOA, my card would get stolen a lot, the customer service there was rude, and they would charge me with so many fees even if it was my money. MSU Federal Union app also has a double verification which is a MUST, especially because I deal with scammers selling stuff online and have a stalker. 10/10 great staff, clean environment, and fast customer service. I dealt with three different staff members and they were all kind. They even have pronouns on their name tag which is so inclusive and kind. They also approved me a 2K loan to pay off a hospital bill as I had just lost my job and was getting back into the workforce.

MSUFCU's VISA card services are inferior to that of most major peers. I was happy to bank with a local credit union but the gaps vs peers have just grown too great to continue investing with them -- no credit card disputes, APRs not competitive, annual fee on points based card, outdated banking app, phone support not given any leeway to make decisions.

I've been a member at MSUFCU since I was in college. I don't use them for all my banking needs, as I have an online savings account with better interest rates and a cash back credit card with another bank, etc. However, for a loan, whether a personal loan or auto, you can't do better than a credit union. For this reason I refinanced my car loan through MSUFCU and the process was very easy, plus, my interest rate was incredibly low!

This Institution is a Joke! I used their atm to deposit money in and it literally takes the click of a button after getting the count back from Brinks for them to say they found the extra money! Instead they take their time and do it when they please. The atm ate $1000 of my money. I have bills to pay and this pandemic is making everything harder. The least they could have done was expediting the process. 5 business days later and Still no money! I actually have a membership with them as well. But either way I really don’t like MSUFCU they really have given me bad experiences but I already let them run my credit so I only keep the account open for that!

So far so good. This is my newest card and I was surprised with my credit that I was able to get it. The good part was the balance transfer and the lower interest rate compared to other cards.
