Anytime I happened to be in the area of that branch of National Exchange Bank and Trust, I would make a deposit of whatever coins and bills I had in my purse at the time and I rarely ever opened my bank statements from them. Thanks to the inconvenience, and those deposits here and there, over the years I built up a good reserve cash fund in case of an emergency.
When my husband and I purchased our home, I was really happy to see a branch of National Bank and Trust within a couple of miles of our new home. We now make more regular deposits to the account, but left the money intact. We chatted with a bank teller there after our move and she couldn't have been nicer. While I was always hesitant about tying the money up in a CD in case an emergency did arise and I needed to get my hands on the money fast, she assured me that after all of these years with an account, I shouldn't worry.
The clerks at the branch of National Exchange Bank and Trust that I initially opened up my account with (West bend, WI) were friendly enough and certainly polite whenever I popped in to make a deposit, but never once suggested other bank products to me as the teller in my new local branch has. Even when I am stopping in with a small deposit, I am greeted by name and treated like a member of the family. I thoroughly enjoy the employees of my local branch and the more relaxed atmosphere there.
