Olean Area Federal Credit Union

I've been with OAFCU for 3 years now and am yet to have any issues with them. The main branch is well apportioned and is currently undergoing quite a large renovation and enlargement program to enable them to offer more services. The staff are very friendly and know what they are talking about and the drive-thru ATM is really useful. They also offer a range of loan options. This is the only issue we've previously had with them has had to do with their loans in that they are quite strict on who they will take on board for them. Our credit rating is pretty good yet it wasn't high enough for them and they declined our request for a small vehicle loan.

The Olean Area Federal Credit Union was the first choice for me and my wife when we first moved to the Olean, NY area due to the good things her colleagues had to say about it. We were also looking to go local given all the terrible press about the big name banks in recent years.

Account setup was very easy indeed, even though I am not originally from the USA myself. The staff is courteous and patient and take the time to go through all the relevant options with you. Indeed, when I set up my business late last year, I went back to them to set up my business checking and savings accounts as I already knew they would set them up with no hassles. This did indeed turn out to be the case and they were also able to talk me through the various business checking options and potential loan applications I may need to make with them in future.

Their offices at Wayne St in Olean are open, spacious and clean and are a pleasant place to do your banking business.

Overall, we have been extremely happy with the OAFCU and have thus far had no particular complaints. The only niggle is that using any cash machine other than theirs does come with a fairly hefty fee.
