Red River Credit Union has been a disaster to work with. They didn't pay our taxes or insurance from our fully funded escrow account, so our insurance was canceled without us knowing. The most recent problem was that they received our payment and, instead of applying it to the loan, they deposited it into our savings account and charged us a late fee for the loan being past due. They told me they would report it to the credit reporting agency. Poor service; would not recommend.

I highly recommend Red River Federal CU Financial services. Mark Lingle has helped me the past 2 years with policy changes and life insurance questions. He is very thorough in explaining to me the best way to do things and answers all of my questions. If he doesn't know an answer to your question, he will work to find an answer. Very pleased with the service. Connie L. Daffern

As an executor of an estate, I have never worked with a company that was so difficult to get information from on an account. I will NEVER deal with these people again!! Very aggravating and arrogant personnel. How are they still in business?

I don’t owe anything to your bank the loan was taken out in full so there isn’t any need in this still being on my credit or should have even been sent to debt collection

I really hate writing reviews. I didn’t know I was going to have to do this. I thought this was activity was supposed to help me save money. No, it forces you to write a review. I’m annoyed.

We had a car loan with RRCU. We payed it off. Two months later I called and asked when I could expect my title. All they could tell me was that their records showed they sent it out already. So I went through the whole lost title application process. An hour, a phone call, a stamp, a photocopy, some printing, a trip to RRCU and a personal check for $2.00. No big deal. However, what bank sends a car title without a tracking number? Adult signature required? Given the option I might have payed for tracking, or maybe picked it up at my local branch....While I was at the local branch to get a copy of lien release, I did take the opportunity to close out my account. If RRCU would like to contact me, go for it... send me a letter.

I was 17 years old when I went looking for a bank, which was ten years ago. I researched banks, and then realized that credit unions were the way to go bank wise. I set up a checking and a savings account. I didn't like the fact that I had to open a savings account to get a checking, but after further research I found that most banks require this. They only require $5 to be in your savings account to keep it open. So it is not a big deal. I've been with this credit union for all ten years now. I have opened two other bank accounts since to be able to send/receive money from people I know in other areas that don't have my credit union. I did not have good experiences with the banks and always stuck with Red River for all of my own expenses and money handling. I have taken out two loans which were easy to get. I wasn't hassled and didn't need to go through this long drawn out process like I did when I got a loan from a finance company. It was a pleasant experience, and they made it easy for me to pay it off. When I have needed any documents notarized, like when I was putting my son into k12 online school, I was greeted with a smile and my documents were signed without hesitation. The ladies inside the bank remember me, even if I use the atm or drive through for months, they still remember me when I go in after not seeing me for six months even though they deal with hundreds of people daily. When I was an assistant manager at the local Dairy Queen, I dropped a night deposit and it got stuck in the chute. They contacted my manager and said they didn't receive the money but not to stress out, they were having someone look in the chute. It was not normal not to get the deposit when I was on shift. The other closing manager would sometimes drop it off in the morning, but they knew I left it at night. They didn't make a big deal out of it and found it a few hours later with no issues for me at work. The only time I had a bad experience was when I had an unexpected bill come out of my account. It overdrew my account by $0.17. That was all. But I got an email saying that I owed $35.17. I had a $300 overdraft protection on my account, and almost $600 or so in my savings attached to my checking at that time, so it should have just taken the $.017 from my savings, but there was a system error or something. I was livid. I went straight to Red River, in my pj's and demanded an answer. I didn't have room in my budget to spend $35 on a computer error. The lady calmed me down, offered me coffee while she worked on it. When she came back she apologised, she credited the $35.17 back to my account and didn't even take the little bit of change out of my savings, and then put an extra $5 back into my account as reassurance that it was a system error and in no way an attack on me as a customer. I had been with them for 6 or 7 years and they appreciated the loyalty. I woke up that morning freaking out because of the unexpected charge and went home with $5 in my account I didn't have before I fell asleep the night before. Felt good to be taken care of so quickly and easily! I would recommend Red River to everyone, and I have! 3 of my friends and two of my family members are now with them because of my experience, and they all love them!!!
