I have been with SRP for over 20 years. The past two or three months, I have had fraudulent charges on my account. I've had to get a new debit card three times. Last night, I noticed new fraudulent charges, so I went to the CU to have it taken care of. Because I've had three debit cards in the past three months for fraudulent charges, they tell me I can't get a new card for six months. I use my cards for bills and everyday items like gas and groceries. I was told I have to come in and withdraw funds if I need money. Why is it I'm being punished for someone else stealing my money?

The only reason I gave them more than one star is the longevity of how long I've had my account and how good things were before. However, lately they have greatly disappointed me and cost me thousands. When my wife walked out on me and started her own account, they automatically just added my account to hers so she could see both and use both. This resulted in her drawing incorrect conclusions about the divorce and, unfortunately, her lawyer was better, and I ended up losing my house and kids in the process, in large part thanks to this action by SRPFCU. Then, they cleared two checks then backtracked on them, leaving me out of the country with negative money in my account. When I asked how they were cleared to begin with, they said they approve them on their end first before checking with the issuing bank, despite the fact they had it on hold for five days before clearing it, so I do not understand why they couldn't clear it on both ends.

Worst bank ever. My account was so badly messed up . I just can't deal with them anymore. I just had 2000 put into my account and all of sudden I'm in a negative. I have no recurring charges. Then they tried to tell me I spent it. I'm out of town with my wife for her job in a little town. There's no place to spend it. I went to sleep with 600 dollars then I woke to -900. How is that possible. Look over the account and all the dates and numbers changed. My advice is to buy a safe.

I have been banking with SRP for over 20 years. They have been friendly, courteous, and helpful every step of the way.
I made a mistake recently that caused 2 NSF charges. My fault I decided to make a payment early even though the account was set to autopay. I then used the wrong checking account. Thank you, everyone, at SRP, you folks are the bomb.

Deposited a check was told in 2 days my funds would be available. I called after the 2 days passed to see what was the problem and they added another 5 days for hold. If I would have never called I wouldn’t have known. Do not take a check there, the check was local and it really put me in a bind.. please do not bank with this company. You will regret it.

I’ve had a number of run-ins with SRP despite being a “normal” customer. My main dealings with them involve getting my check direct deposited into my bank account and withdraws for normal “day to day”.

They’ve locked my debit twice, on a Friday afternoon. Guess what? Noone will help you until Monday - so your money is held hostage. My irregular spend pattern was stopping in at Foot Locker and spending around $50 in the city that I lived. A second time - when I hit my spending limit for the day (which I did not agree to - nor is it posted anywhere on my online account statement). Which locked my account until I could call in.

If you call your local brick and mortar, it directs you to a 1-800 line which takes usually 10+ minutes to get to a human. But that human directs you to other humans, which necessitates another wait...for a “small down credit union”.

I’m sitting here now waiting for a wire transfer to be completed. To complete this remotely has necessitated the following: 3 emails, a photo, a photo file later asked to be turned into a PDF and resubmitted, a secure message sent via the web, a phone call, a skype call. I’m waiting on what I’m told is a “final confirmation call”. This is a debacle.

I’m leaving this bank. I should have done it years ago. I’d recommend others to stay away.

Worst bank ever. They also do not offer mobile access benefits for spouses who are on a joint bank account, unless they are just not LGBT friendly. Always something going wrong with our account and this bank.

I've been dealing with srp for 6 years ...first experience was my first car loan / my first car i had no problems as long as you pay on time. Now I use for payroll and check cashing / shopping online . ive had 0 problems they have always had friendly service and charge nothing but a $1 a month paper fee. Compared to most banks. Wanting 100-200 upfront plus monthly charges.

They would have gotten 5 stars because they processed my loan quickly and without a hassle initially. Then cam Covid-19. Now they were unresponsive and when I finally got a person I received conflicting information.
So, the way they handled clients COVID-19 challenges was ridiculous. Most banks simply allowed their customers to apply for help online. They required you to get paperwork printed and then submit the documentation. Trying to reach someone by phone was a challenge. I reached three different people and got three different responses to what to do. Now I am just struggling and confused.

The worst bank lender. Customer service horrible, rude , unsympathetic. They do not waive late fees. If you are one day late they will call you multiple times a day every day and harass your life. I paid off my car loan so fast just to be done with them!

SRP's technology seems to be light years behind other banks/credit unions. They hold deposits forever, and if you choose the mobile deposit it is a nightmare. I was told my money would be released in 2 days, but now it's going to be 10. I went to a branch office 3 separate times asking if they could please release the money. I even brought the paper check so they could call the bank to confirm the money was there. Nope. They can't call an out of state bank (never mind they operate on the SC/GA border. I literally could drive up to NY and back before the check will clear. I'm shocked they can't confirm a check because it's out of state. I'll be closing out this account ASAP.

Excellent choice, we’ve been with them for years. They are helpful to any issue that you might have, and actually care about their customers. This shows up in followup calls and emails to assure your concerns are addressed.

As one of your reviews indicated there are many fees, the fees here are lower and reasonable. An excellent app Is also available.
