Love Sunmark Bank. But their is one associate that ALWAYS gives me a hard time. Madison.
She is sarcastic and does not have the patience to help seniors. I have spoken to her twice in the past two weeks. And I could not stand to discuss my banking needs any further with her. I refuse to speak to her in the future. I don't need the aggravation on trying to discuss my banking questions with her. I will ask to speak to someone else from this point on.

ATM is rarely operational. This credit union has a policy of processing payments as quickly as possible and delaying even payroll and cash deposits for days so it can collect overdraft fees or decline payments and charge a fee.

The most outdated credit union in the area. ATM rarely works. Their company policy is to process ACH payments before cash deposits to charge an NSF fee. If I could rate them lower than a one, I would. Absolutely dissatisfying organization.

Super slow. Super outdated. Exorbitant fees pay for the low rates. Whole days pass between calls and responses, seeming arbitrary rules, but I suspect they were just miscommunications by their substandard help. Look elsewhere!

How can a bank hold a certified check for 7 banking days? The issuing bank even called and said the funds were guaranteed because it's certified. Time to find a new bank. $75,000 they don't need.

Sunmark is a fee-happy credit union that takes every opportunity to charge its customers fees and provides impolite customer service. Be aware that even if an account is a penny short, you will be charged an overdraft fee, even if your other account has adequate funds to cover the penny. Unlike other banks and credit unions, including commercial banks that would not charge their customers for a penny, this credit union does so willingly.

Mike at the Rotterdam branch was professional and provided all the details and answered all my questions regarding the loan. The whole staff was very friendly

I found the auto loan process at Sunmark very easy and quick. Very helpful staff to understand your situation and provide what is at best competitive interest rate.

Sunmark Federal Credit Union is an excellent institution with great interest rates and their customer service is top notch. I have always had excellent experiences dealing with their customer service representatives and I have been a customer of theirs for over 5 years. The application process was quick and efficient providing only a slight inconvenience. In addition, their locations are placed very conveniently for me. All in all, this credit union is the best one out of the three that I currently hold accounts with.

I have been a member at this credit union for a very short period of time. Because of this, I know for a fact that it was extremely easy and quick to open a normal checking and savings account. Their interest rates for loans are pretty low, especially compared to big banks’ interest rates. So far I can only comment that I have never received spam phone calls or emails, and have only had pleasant customer service whenever I have to deal with employees. I am able to be a member here because my wife is an employee of Price Chopper. I would definitely recommend this credit union to anyone.

I entered the Price Chopper credit union as an employee. Since then, I’ve continued to use their services. I got my auto loan through them, and they were extremely easy to deal with. The interest rate was really good, and I had a lot of questions since it was my first auto loan. They happily and easily answered all of my questions. You do have to keep $5 in the savings account, which was more difficult during my college years than I care to admit, and that is the only drawback of this credit union. Lastly, I love their holiday savings account – perfect for Christmas! It really helps manage your finances and worry less around Christmas time. My checking account is always hassle free.

Sunmark Federal Credit union is truly an awesome credit union. I’ve been a member here for a short period of time, but they have been great. The sign up for a checking account was quick and easy, and everyone was very friendly and eager to help me. My favorite part about them is all the locations around me, and I’m never far from an ATM. The lines are never very long, and it feels a lot more “homey” than regular banks. Everyone is a lot more friendly, and welcoming. Their loan rates are also very low, definitely one of the lowest in the area. I will continue to do business at this credit union, and intend to set up my kids’ savings account here as well!

I have had an account at Sunmark for many years, almost two decades now! I have had a kid's "Moolah Moolah" account to teen savings, to student savings and normal bank accounts. They're incredibly helpful and answer any questions I have. I have a debit card through them and it's great. It's simple and easy to open checking accounts off of your primary savings account too. Their credit card application is straightforward too. They also call me to check in and ask how my banking experience is, communicate clearly and look to help me out. I wouldn't trade them! And now they're offering ATM fee rebates too, which is helpful when there isn't a convenient local branch.

I have been a customer at Sunmark Federal Credit Union for about ten years now. I have to say, in general, I am happy with them as a bank. I have heard many horror stories from friends about other banks charging them huge overdraft fees and bounced check fees. The thing that I like about Sunmark Federal Credit Union is that as long as you have the money to cover the check/payment in your savings account, they will take it from there and only charge you a nominal fee of $3. This is unlike other banks who often charge you $30 “a pop” for insufficient funds.
I got a car loan from Sunmark about 9 years ago and had a good experience. I was able to get a rate of 4.04%, which at the time was considered a very good rate. When I asked friends and family about how much interest they were paying on their car loans (both from banks and car dealerships) they were all paying a higher rate. This made me feel like I had gotten a good deal, and made me feel satisfied with Sunmark Federal Credit Union as my bank.

I don’t actually go to the bank very often, and instead make use of direct deposit. This saves me a lot of time and money on gas.
