Who can tell me what separates a credit union from a bank today? It's nothing. In the past, credit unions had the ability to make decisions based on not only creditworthiness but the person. Today, TVFCU is full of automated processes. The human element is gone. No one can approve a loan based on their past credit and a long-standing relationship. A computer is not capable of recognizing the human aspect that people embody. TVFCU, it's high time you change your name from credit union to bank, as you tarnish the reputation of legitimate credit unions. I understand this will not affect TVFCU one bit, but if you agree, how about a thumbs up?

Absolutely horrible customer service! I dealt with Wendee, who made it very difficult to get an answer about a construction loan. Then she provided misleading information about the draws, saying that I could get them before materials and labor, when in fact you can only get it afterward. What was she thinking? I'd secure a loan so she could earn the commission and then tell me that afterward? I talked to several people at the bank requesting to switch brokers, and everyone seemed like they could care less. I called six other brokers, and everyone was unavailable or out of the office. Does anyone work anymore? I would not recommend this bank.

Horrible, horrible, do not bank with them! Filed my taxes and the IRS said the bank account number didn't work. After investigating, TVFCU changed everyone's account numbers to a new system, so old account numbers don't work anymore. They did not inform anyone at all! So now we have to wait for the IRS to reject the deposit and send a paper check 10 weeks later. This bank is terrible; do not use them. You cannot just change account numbers without notifying someone first. It's very frustrating!

Absolute worst experience I have had with a bank ever. This morning, I woke up to pay my bills as usual on the last working day of the month, only to find that my paycheck had not been deposited. ADP said it was sent, but TVFCU did not receive it. Strangely, after investigating further and calling TVFCU, I discovered that they had changed my account number without informing me. Now, I must coordinate with my company and ADP to receive my paycheck because TVFCU thought it would be a wise decision to change my account number to meet some minimum length requirement. They did this without contacting me or sending any notification. I implore you, unless you want constant headaches and the risk of important details of your account changing without your knowledge, avoid this bank at all costs.

You all suck! I wouldn't recommend this service. It's quite difficult to accomplish anything. Why can't I speak to a person in the building? They're right there! Instead, I have to communicate with someone through a digital interface, and as someone who is hard of hearing, this makes it challenging to carry out necessary tasks. It feels impersonal, and I dislike it intensely. I am switching to a different bank. After many years, this experience is just unacceptable.

Absolute thieves. I have had insurance since the time of purchase, and these guys added $5,000 to my loan for not having insurance. Do not get a loan with them; they are thieves.

I've been with TVFCU since it was TVAFCU, nearly 40 years. At one time, I had a very large amount, in six digits, invested here. Slowly and steadily I started withdrawing the amounts and investing elsewhere as their interest rates were pitiable. Now I have only about $100 left. They spend so much on advertising, especially commercials. Service has declined. To get a CD, you have to talk to the downtown office via Zoom. So much automation.

Their employees are not customer-oriented and are lazy. We needed documents notarized and they simply said no without even looking at the papers. We want to add our son to our accounts and they said he needs to come in with us, which isn't convenient. He works out of town, so just give us the paperwork to sign, and we will provide a picture of his driver's license. Do they think we would add a stranger to our accounts? They don't work with you at all.

Wonderful service! I'm 19 and this is my first time applying for a loan, Shamiah helped me figure out what I needed and could afford and she set everything up quick and easy. Unfortunately I called pretty late, and she said to get a result if I was approved or not, I'll have to wait for tomorrow for a call back, because their system doesn't work properly when it's not quite during office hours. She was sweet, complimented my name, actually cracked a funny joke, and said merry Christmas back when me and my mom said merry Christmas to her. Thank you, Shamiah. 11/10 experience. :)

I love TVFCU however the offers that are sent in the mail for services such as Car Insurance quotes for members at a discounted rate are not easy and inaccessible for some. I was transferred by a TVFCU officer and then the insurance agent say they cant give us a quote. I sat on hold while at work only for them to tell me they couldn't give us a quote. Otherwise banking with TVFCU is great!!!

I had a fraud alert on my debit card so I went in today to get a new debit card it was not the first time I have had to get a new debit card but I was denied a debit card and was treated very disrespectfully by the disrespectful cashier so I soon will probably be taking my business elsewhere since they are making it difficult for me to pay my bills I do not have a vehicle so now I have to find a ride down to the bank to get money I give them a one if I could give them a negative 10 I would! Why should I be punished when someone else took advantage of me and now the bank has taken advantage of me I have banked with them for years that will be no more!

After initially applying for a car loan we were denied due to value of vehicle and short work history being a 1099 employee. We were also told that we would qualify for a loan with a good co-signer. We found another vehicle and had an excellent co-signer and were willing to put cash down. It was nothing but excuse after excuse with this bank. Total waste of time and effort. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for your first choice when looking for a car loan.

I would find another option. Be leary of them adding auto insurance of $4-$5k annually and repetitively. I've been insured the entire lift of the load. They will not tell you about it on the front end. They will slide an email about it in the hundred promotional emails they send you. They might send a piece of mail expecting you to get it, read it, understand it, and comply. All the while sending you a ton of promotional mail. It's 2023, there are multi ways to better handle this on their end. They will blame every problem they have on their old system. Their low interest rates are not worth it. You get what you pay for. Regretfully, I made the switch from Ally and never had this problem with them. They added $12k on top of my $30k car loan. I caught it late and having the WORST time getting them to fix it. I've been dealing with this since November 2022. Four months later their Manager of Loan Support Department (Paul Pettaway Jr) finally gave me an email with substance but even then he's made it easy for me to think even he doesn't care. I promise this is out of character for me and maybe I'm overreacting. I always fall victim to expecting others to address customer service the way I do or how it should be addressed. I just don't want anyone else to experience what I have been experiencing with them. I've been nothing but patience and respectful throughout the entire process.

After my car was totaled in an accident, I deposited the insurance check with TVCU and found a great deal on a car in Miami. I have family in Florida, so it would be fun to buy the car and drive back while visiting family.
Customer service told me the check would clear on Wednesday night, so I booked a flight and hotel to buy the car. I show up Thursday to get a cashier's check for the deposit and am informed that their ATM department decided to add another 3 days hold, even acknowledging that they previously told me Wednesday. Now I have to cancel my flight, I lose the full amount I paid for the hotel since it's a last-minute cancellation, and I probably have a 90% chance the car will be sold to someone else before Tuesday because it's a great deal. Thanks for ruining what would have been a very memorable fun trip. I will be closing my account next week.
Every business makes mistakes, which is fine. What gets me is after they acknowledge making a mistake, they left me with a terrible experience just to protect themselves in the 0.01% chance that Progressive for some reason stops payment on a check. The customer doesn't come first at TVCU.
