Not so simple interest—
I have a loan I took to make a home improvement. My payment is 300/mo. Every month I would like to pay 500. 300 towards the payment, and the extra 200 towards “principal only”. I do this with cap one all the time very easily. My TFCU loan will not let me pay to principal only. Instead, the extra amount goes toward my next due payment. So now I don’t have payment due for 3 months, but they are still charging the interest on the money I’d like to pay towards interest only. I asked the loan officer that set me up, and she insulted my intelligence trying to explain to me that paying to principal only and getting ahead in payments were the same thing. Even though it only amounts to a few bucks a month, in moral principle I feel I have been robbed by my own lender.

Tinker is a prime example of how customer service goes down as the organization gets larger. Year after year Tinker gas grown and the experience has dropped. Constant online banking changes, for the worse, the online customer service that even in branch associates say is trash among other constant headaches have made me decide it is finally time to start looking around for new options. What is unfortunate is that Tinker probably doesn’t care one bit that I leave, which is exactly why I should.

This Federal Credit Union could use some improvements on several levels. The experience I encountered once at the Norman branch was of the third kind. Wow! One might think with the accounts I've had w/ them over the years (10+) that they would be far more professional in the approach taken when I applied for a new car loan. The loan person, who has since left to somewhere else, seemingly, didn't know the first thing about this 'loan application process'. She was stupid and I found out thru a local auto dealer that when their customers use Tinker for a new car loan they get excellent low interest rates. And, the Norman's branch has a certain inability to comprehend even the most elementary details of a loan application. Why? I did get a follow-up phone call from them but it, too, was a waste of time.

So far so good. It seems to be a great card. I am happy with my TFCU credit card. I only wish they had more convenient ways to pay on the balance

These people are not very helpful. I will not be using them again. When I paid on the principle, they would add it to the next payment, not applying it directly to the principle. Only, once they rec'd a full payment amount would they. So interest accrued. I will not be using or promoting them in the future.

If you want a personal loan forget about it. It does not matter that you have had an account for 20 years. It does not matter that you have paid off three vehicles through them. It does not matter that you have served your country for 20 years. They will not be there for you when you need a personal loan!

TFCU has not reported my or updated my loan balance in over 8 months, this is unacceptable. I've paid the debt down by over $1500 since it last reported to any bureau, that's BS!

Horrible customer service and extremely questionable practices when it comes to overdraft charges. They will not pay the payee for an auto-draft, charge you and overdraft charge, and then automatically pull that overdraft charge from another one of your linked accounts.
