TruAssure Insurance Company

Just called Mutual of Omaha about my dental benefits, not knowing that I was being transferred to a third-party company, Truassure. The representative was very rude. I asked to receive a copy of my dental policy, and she said, "Don't you have one?" If I was asking for a copy, then obviously I don't have one. She said she couldn't send me one, only a generic copy that they send to dental offices. I then asked for a manager, a customer service supervisor named Kathy. She is the person who told me they are only a third party. I was blindly transferred to Jude, another representative who was rude. It seems one should never call after 5 pm.

I have paid my premiums for several years. I go to a dental school to save on costs. When I get work done, it represents savings for both me and the insurance company. However, getting them to pay is almost impossible. They send you a letter detailing the amount of the check but send the check to the dentist who performed the work. When you call them to inquire about the check, they tell you that you need to call the dentist and get your money from him. When you call the dentist, he says he can't cash the check and give you the money, because the check is made out to him. He says he will send the check back and that I will need to contact the insurance company. I have spent many hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue. I have never seen them have a problem taking my money, but they seem unable to send me a claim. I believe these guys are scammers. You should stay away. If you want to give away your money, why not give it to me? I could use it to pay my dentist.

Their list of providers has not been updated in years. I called 4 periodontists on their list. They no longer take the insurance. One of them WAS my periodontist, but he retired three years ago and is still on the list. I found a periodontist in the list. But I looked at the WRONG list and although he takes Truassure, he is not on the right list, so they refuse to pay the 70% - he is only covered at 50% because he's "out of network". This company needs pushed over the brink out of business. We won't be finishing treatment with the "out of network" dentist, but cannot find an in network periodontist that's still accepting Truassure in our area. And cannot get a supervisor to call back. I think two weeks is enough time to return our calls. We've had Truassure for about 5 years now, but we won't be renewing for next year. There is no point when they cannot get their provider directory up to date.

Do your homework before doing business with this company. Company sent a letter in MARCH 2020 stating they had cancelled the insurance effective NOVEMBER 2019, but continued to take my payments during these months VERY unprofessional.

Dental Insurance Plan paperwork print too small, no card sent, excuse they are a green company, totally unbusinesslike, should be monitered closely for poor business practices by oversight agencies.

This is dental insurance, not life or disability insurance so not sure why those are the only options to pick from for topic for this review but anyway, I have had great luck with this company. I needed a tooth pulled, getting a bridge, wisdom teeth pulled,then need my lower teeth straightened back to normal from my wisdom teeth crushing my teeth together, some fillings and the normal dental cleaning. Im covered and only paying out of pocket what im suppose to. Have had no issues to be honest. You need to read the policy right down to the fine print on any insurance policy not just this company, there website breaks everything down and tells you exactly what's covered and what is not covered right down to what type of filling is covered(silver or white) for your teeth and what's not and if you have any questions or do not understand what you are reading you can easily call them and a person picks up the phone and not some automated annoyance so you can ask any question and they help you understand what they can do for you and your teeth. I even had stuff done that wasn't covered but got a discount. I'm happy and plan to keep them. This is the first dental insurance my husband and I have been able to get finally and we feel we picked the best one. It is a win win for us.

Honestly, I have no idea how this company is in business. I bought premium dental insurance from them. My plan was suppose to cover 80% of fillings if done with an in-network provider, and 70% if done by an out of network provider. After the first 3 fillings, the dentist sent me a bill. I was surprised as i paid the 20% that i was suppose to. Turns out the "type of filling" the dentist used was not covered. Please do not fall for this scam. They lock you down for a year.

They dropped me as soon as a claim was filed but before that my dentist called and made shore I had covarage then the claim was submitted it was denied customer service is no help at all they wanted me to buy another plan. I filed a complaint with the Bbb I think we should all do this and make them accountable for once for things they promised. Worst company I've ever dealt with. I wish no stars was an option!!!!!

I would not recommend this company. After six months of coverage, I mysteriously did not receive my July bill. So, I made a double payment in August (mysteriously) that was received too late and my policy got canceled.
Mysteriously my policy canceled three days prior to my payment being cashed. Mysteriously after my double payment was cashed, my policy canceled two days later. Mysteriously I didn't receive a cancellation letter until 7 days after the fact.
I feel this company intentionally missed sending me out July bill & purposely posts payments late to cancel the dental coverage.
Don't trust this Company. Not worth it in the end!

Avoid these people like the plague! Unclear about what their payouts were for dental insurances, and according to this they're not even licensed in TN?!?

Because of their incompetence I now owe my dentist over 1200 dollars because they only paid out a meager 600 for an almost 2000 dollar procedure. Awful company and awful customer service, too!
