Then they set up my new auto loan and failed to complete the steps to establish the automatic draft from my account to pay the loan. Without mentioning that the loan was now overdue due to the missed automatic draft, they turned off my debit card, which I used to autopay other bills. After I contacted them and they fixed the auto loan payment problem, I still had to resolve the issue with the deactivated debit card they caused.
Next problem: I set my automatic loan payments on my vehicle loan to be higher than the required payment to pay off the loan sooner and decrease the interest. What happens next astounds me. Since I overpaid my loan payments, WeStreet decides at the end of the year that, due to these overpayments, I can skip three months of loan payments and enacts this automatically without my consent. This means that I'm paying interest on a loan where the balance isn't decreasing because no payments are being made for three months. This is a questionable practice on WeStreet's part.
Calling to try and resolve all these issues is frustrating as they use a phone tree that constantly states "the call volume is higher than expected," and waiting on hold is time-consuming, often lasting at least half an hour or more. None of this ever happened during the decades with TFCU. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and treated customers with respect. I cannot begin to imagine why any financial institution would choose to become what WeStreet has proven to be.
WeStreet is incapable of running a financial organization, as they demonstrate daily. They also have terrible customer service. I requested a manager to call me about the discontinuation of my auto loan payments, and after two weeks, I've still not received a call.
They've now failed to issue payment to our homeowners insurance as part of our home loan, resulting in a cancellation letter from our insurance company – the same insurance required by WeStreet to service this loan. They don't return calls from the insurance company that tried repeatedly to obtain the payment, so we've had to intervene to resolve the issue. It's as though the organization is run by an incompetent team.
If you are looking for a bank, you should absolutely look anywhere else other than WeStreet. If you don't believe me, check their Yelp reviews. If you'd like further proof, open an account and see for yourself how well they serve.
I truly miss the credit union it was before it became WeStreet. WeStreet is absolutely abysmal.
