Vantage West Credit Union

Vantage West at Irvington Rd has the worst service. Instead of tellers to take care of normal business matters they have each teller handle all business so just to cash a check or get a money order you will wait at least 1/2 hour. Don’t go to this branch if you value your time because they don’t. Geez why are they banking this way.

Absolute worst in customer service. You cannot make payments to them from your personal bank account you have to jump through hoops to access their account, they charge you for everything. Sorry excuse for a credit union.

This review is for Vantage West overall as a "credit union." Three years ago, I opened an account with them, and it didn't take long to see that it was not on the same level as the bank I had used before. Being a credit union, I thought I should still give it a try, thinking it couldn't be too bad. Now, at this point, I can say this knowing I wasn't prematurely judging it, but they're terrible—not just at one particular thing, but in general. I'm quite surprised they even appear to be a credible credit union. Do not even waste your time! Go to another bank, speaking from experience.

Vantage West customer service is terrible. It doesn't resolve any issues. They pay unauthorized charges, and there is nothing the customer can do.

VW has gone downhill. I experienced fraud on my account, and it took over two weeks to get a replacement. I needed a bank card to use my account when I rented a vehicle, so I went to the branch near me. The lady there was not pleasant to talk to. She was blunt and lacked the compassion necessary for customer service roles. She informed me that their branch no longer issues cards and that I would need to go to another branch, quickly adding with a big smile that they only accept appointments. She was also aware that I had urgently gone to my bank to get a card to access funds from my account for a rental. I received a card from the other branch, but it does not work properly. I called VW and requested a new card to be sent to me, as well as to withdraw money from my account for the next two weeks while awaiting the new bank card, but I received no service after being on the phone with a representative for over 20 minutes. He informed me that he needed to escalate the call to a different department with a specialist. I will be closing my account and working with another credit union. This level of service is unacceptable for a bank that holds my money. They are rated three stars for a reason, and when I opened an account with them, they were at 4.5. This bank has really gone downhill.

Stay away. Horrible service. I went to use them for banking as well, and every little thing I do with them is met with horrible service and the people just act rudely.

Horrible company. This is yet another toxic corporation looking for loopholes to take your money. They took $400 from me because they provided an incorrect address for my lien, and now I am burdened with months of fees. All the while, they didn't communicate or help me whatsoever. This is precisely what is wrong with the United States, and they do not deserve to be characterized under code 501.

DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH VANTAGE WEST!!! They lie, they don't do what they say they will do, "customer service" is NOT customer service, they're terrible with communication. They say they have branches all over the valley, but they don't. They have a few other credit unions that they work with that can't do anything. They force you to drive to one of their locations to pay without a $15 fee. There is absolutely nothing beneficial about this credit union. Don't waste your time or money with vantage west!

High limit and low interest rate. This card was one of the best credit cards I’ve ever had. I think I was even able to skip a payment once per year (though that may have been a loan I had through Vantage West CU).

Vantage West is a terrible Credit Union. Unlike any other bank or CU, if someone wire transfers money to your account and it is from a different bank or is not zelle, they withhold your money for 3 days or longer. Other banks or CU will place the money i to your account as soon as they receive the wire. Usually within an hour. Then they get rude with you when ypu ask them why they wont deposit the money right away. This is not the first time i have had this issue with them. I once tried to transfer money to a relative using zelle, but they argued with me and would not allow me to transfer MY money to someone else’s non VWCU bank account. This is a terrible way to treat someone who they claim they work for. As soon as i am able i will be dropping this bank and going to a better, and friendlier bank who treats their account holders with respect and dignity.

Friendly, quick serve in their branches and over the phone. Mobile app works perfectly and they are up to date with things like Apple Pay, Zelle, and other technology. Generally high rates for CDs. Highly recommended!

When you make your monthly payment, it isn't reflected in the next month's statement. Your balance stays the same even if you make additional payments. Then they have the nerve to charge late fees as if you've never sent money. This CU is corrupt. Respond if you'd like to join a class action and have experienced the same

Issues every month and I’m finally writing a review about it. I just went on to retry signing up for their auto pay service. Went in to verify the micro amounts deposited to my bank account and it says my account is disabled. I just spoke with them a couple weeks ago, too. I’ve been with them for 3-4 years and can’t wait for it to be over. Every month there’s another problem, then they act surprised when I don’t pay my bill. Why would I want to call in every month, wait on hold, then pay a fee for paying over the phone, when I could use autopay? Oh, I forgot I can’t do that, either.

I loaned all my cars here. Great rates and service. Easy pre-approvals. My children use them too and love dealing with Vantagewest Credit Union.
