We put money in savings. Someone called from the bank called the Texas Attorney General child support and told them how much we had in the bank. They put $12,700 on hold cause of the lien and we were negative $4900. We tried getting a hold of them as to why they would do that. No answers just giving us the runaround. Now we are trying to close the account . Don't open an account there. Bad customer services

I would NOT recommend anyone to do business w/ SSFCU. I had an auto loan account w/ SSFCU in 2011. I paid the loan off and let the account remain open. In Mar. of 2018 I decided to close the account. In that process I discovered that I had $900 in savings. I closed the account and removed all monies. In August, 2018 I received a letter that stated SSFCU made a mistake back in 01/2018 and deposited the $900 in error and they were reversing the deposit. This created a notice of the account being in arrears for the $900. To this date SSFCU has not told me where the $900 came from and where it went after they did the reversal. I have not been told why it took 7 months to discover their mistake. I went in and talked to Cheryl Funk about the situation. She was unwilling to take any responsibility for SSFCU. All she was willing to do was set up a payment schedule for me to pay back the entire $900. She told me that it wasn't my money when I closed the account. I told her that it was my money when I closed the account in March as it was in my account and she was stating a lie to say otherwise. When they discovered their mistake in August it wasn't my money then, but! as far as I was concerned it was mine at time of account closer. She said this happens quite often and is the accounts holder responsibility. I would say if that is true then I wouldn't recommend SSFCU to anyone.

I have been banking with Security Service Federal Credit Union for over 8 year and I have nothing but the best things to say about them. Their customer service is just great with staff helping you as soon as you walk through the door. Their CD rates are extremely competitive and the process of signing up is very simple. Once when I had a late fee by accident, I went to the teller and she waived the fee for me in good faith. Talk about good service. Will definitely continue to bank with them for a long time.

I've used Security Service Federal Credit Union for my whole life, and I've never had a problem with them. Whenever I go to SSFCU, somebody helps me right away. I've used them as notaries and they are always happy to help with any and everything that I need. I really like their relatively high interest rates on CDs as well. Last year, I needed a notary for a document I needed to go to Argentina. When I went to SSFCU, the person who helped me seemed genuinely interested in my trip and was happy to help with all the documentation that I needed. Overall, I'm very happy with Security Service and will be glad to be their customer in the future.
