Bank of America Car Loans

I have a vehicle financed through these guys, and the only way to make an extra principal payment is to send them a check. You cannot use their online payment platform to pay off extra principal. If you try, they will only apply it to future interest. Time after time, I have tried to get them to update their website, but it really benefits them to not allow an easy way to pay down the principal. These guys are truly money-grubbing and unscrupulous.

Bank of America is clutch! I've used them since 2021 when I bought my very first car, and they've always provided me with excellent customer service! I highly recommend them!

I had a credit card with BOA before, and reaching an actual agent in customer service takes about 30 minutes with AI prompts that direct you to the wrong place. It hangs up if it doesn't understand you. Currently, I have a new car loan. I was advised to pay through the app. Therefore, I set up the app, but the payment went to an old closed account. After 34 minutes trying to explain what happened, I was told they can refund my payment in up to 60 days. Really? My payment is due in a few days, and they repeat that it takes 60 days to receive my money, even in these days of instant transfer. Oh, and I was advised to repay the car payment so it isn't late. This bank makes it difficult to conduct any business with them. Customer service? Forget it. I need to make payments, but they seem to sit on my refund freely. That's okay. I will be transferring my loan from this unreliable bank as soon as possible. As soon as my money clears, I'm gone, and they can find someone else to take advantage of.

You can go elsewhere for better car loans with a company that will actually help you out if you need it. As stated by an employee and supervisor, "Yes, I see that you haven't missed a payment, aren't behind at all, and you're paying ahead on the loan. Sorry, but you don't qualify for a one-month extension even though you're on Workman's Compensation."

How are you going to confirm that I have had nothing wrong with my account and then deny me an extension due to life circumstances out of my control? I only have a few payments left, too.

Bank of America, unfortunately, does not care about the customer at all. AT ALL

Bank of America gave me a chance when no other bank would. I'm thankful to them because I really needed a car, and I make my payments fairly on time because they are the reason why I can keep my job. Thank you, Bank of America!

I called in to recover property from my vehicle after Bank of America hired a firm that confiscated my truck. They misled me by saying they would help me recover my property but instead tried to persuade me to pay money, without assisting in the retrieval of my belongings. Bank of America acted as though I had called to voluntarily pay for a vehicle I no longer owned, which had been sold to someone else. They wanted me to give them money under the pretense of aiding in the recovery of my missing property, which was not true. It was only at the end of the conversation, when I pressed them to address my actual concern, that they failed to deal with my reason for calling and instead shifted the topic as if ambushing me. They had me call multiple times, transferring me to various departments under the false claim that it was the recovery department for my property, which was never the case. They exploited my attempt to recover missing property as a ruse to pivot the conversation toward getting me to pay money.

Had a death of an immediate family member. Asked if could defer one car payment they said absolutely not. Wanted to know their reasoning and they couldn’t give one. I will never use boa again.
