I used State Farm Federal Credit Union for several years before switching to a different credit union. They are adequate in what they do, but do not offer any particularly compelling reasons to stay loyal to them. I mainly used State Farm for managing my checking/savings account, and like I said, they performed such services in a perfectly adequate manner. However, the few times that I had issues come up (such as credit fraud), it took me far too long to get to a person who could actually help me. Their customer service call line seems to be set up more as a way to funnel people through the system, rather than actually help people in an efficient manner. This was the main reason I switched my account.

State Farm Federal Credit Union has handled a good portion of my personal retirement savings for about two years. I've found the company to have competitive rates, a great customer service team and many similar financial product choices as the big banks. If pressed, I'd have to say the disclosures could be somewhat more straightforward and the application process shorter, but I guess you find that with just about any financial institution. I enjoy dealing with a smaller business and the personal relationship I've developed with State Farm Federal Credit Union is a definite bonus. I do trust this company with my savings, and that's saying a great deal about them.
