I checked my bank account around 6PM on Tuesday night. Two transactions were not posted at this time. At 8 AM Wednesday, the two transactions were posted but had Tuesdays date (weird considering they shouldn’t be posting after 6PM and would go on the next business day, right?). I went and made a deposit right away (before 10AM) to cover the balance. My reciept said available balance and it was a positive number. I checked my mobile banking a couple hours after making the deposit only to note TWO overdraft fees. Isn’t the over draft policy to rectify your balance within 24 hours of the transaction posting? Isn’t it ironic how neither mobile or online banking tell you what time your transactions post anymore? Needless to say, there was a phone call placed to customer service (I spoke to a woman named Nicki) who did absolutely nothing for me but lecture me on how to avoid fees but couldn’t tell me what the policy was. When she condescendingly asked if she could “help” with anything else, I requested a new banking institution and she just apologized and told me to have a good day. TCF can shove their $37 overdraft fees. I will be banking elsewhere.
This is the worst bank ever. They will RIP you off in overdraft cost. They over charged my account by over $189. You call about it then give you the run around or some lame ass excuse as to why it happened. This is the second time this has happened. I deposited a check the same check I always deposit now it's a hold on this one this time and they can only tell they're making sure it not a fraudulent check.
Worst bank I've ever dealt with. They have one of the worst customer services I've ever experienced. A check that was deposited to my account was put on hold and they never told me why. It's been over a month, my bank account is negative and I can't spend any money. I call almost every day and they keep saying "wait 2 weeks" even though I've signed the check endorsement form 3 times. Yes, 3 times in the last month. Some of the customer reps have no idea how to help so they end up putting me on hold for a long period of time just to tell me, "sorry sir I don't know what's wrong." or "please just a wait a few weeks." First they tell me to wait a few days then a few weeks and now it's been over a month. What a joke.
I have done business with TCF bank for 35 years. They charge a fee if you don't payroll deposit. Their fraud department sucks, you call in to say someone used your card. They cancel the card, do an investigation and side with the company instead of their customers. Twice I've had fraudulent charges, had to get a new card and change all my auto payments just to have TCF make me pay for the fraudulent merchandise. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TCF BANK EVER!!
Deposited a insurance claim check for $4357.99. They said the full balance was available and gave me a receipt stating so. Went to pay $909 online and they had put a stop on it saying it fraudulent check. They canceled my debit card and took out 4357.99 out of my checking account for a check that I deposited not cashed. So I was way in the minus. The check is good. Insurance company has been in business for 80 years. Then asked them to verify it with citibank where the check came from and they said citibank would not verify the check with Tcf. I called citibank and they said they do verify with banks their checks. That's two lies. First saying could use that money second saying citibank does not verify checks. So no debit card now to use my money in bank before deposited check. So I suffer for their mistakes. Do not use Tcf banking, learned my lesson closing account.
I’ve had a lot of problems with tcf bank I purchased something on the internet on a Saturday night and Sunday morning I canceled it and they ship it to me on Monday disregarding my cancellation I called tcf and I dealt with Sara and I sent her everything that she requested and she told me that she would get back to me on Monday and I waited after she never called me back for 2weeks I had to call her and I was told that she forgot about me and now she said I have to have proof of when it was shipped to me and again after waiting for her to get back to me over 2weeks all I had is the emails and I sent to her and that she asked for? Now she refused to help me out and I’m out the money! I used there debit card and I was told that it was protected just like a credit card? Again I was lied to! I’m taking my money and going to a good bank with good reviews! I m done being lied to from Sara and tcf bank ! She should be fired and they don’t need to lie to their customers
I have had a TCF checking account for 18 years. I have had many problems with them in the past, but with so much online bill paying and direct withdrawls set up with that account number, it would be more hassle than it is worth to change banks, so I have stayed. The account was originally mine, I added my husband to the account 8 years ago and now am divorced. They refuse to take him off the account! I am being forced to close the account that I have had for 18 years and reopen a new one. Well, if I am going to change all my online payments to another account number anyway (Which I have tried to avoid doing), it will NOT be with TCF Bank. They have lost an 18 year customer over refusing to take someone off the account. Here is the kicker - he is even willing to go into the branch with me and request to be removed and they won't do it!!! They have absolutely NO options for this scenario except to close and reopen a new account. They CREATE work for their customers and don't care how difficult it is for the customer.
Worst bank ever... they fool you with protection plans that charge more and protect less! They could reverse a $37 overdraft charge, but won't reverse $10 fee even when it is due to their own app mistake because you signed an agreement! Losing a good old customer with a high turnover account over $10 dispute! Well done customer support!! IT IS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE NOT THE TEN BUCKS! Definitely taking my business elsewhere!
I am new to tcf bank and have read some very poor reviews. Well let me be one to say I bank at TCF on Signal Butte in Mesa AZ and they are great people working there. They are very professional and pleasant. I give them a thumbs up.
Tcf bank is awful!! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT Bank with TCF Bank!!!! Please see somw of the issues I've encountered. Again, these are just sokme and not all. See below: No access to a manager. Was told a manager would follow-up, no manager has or ever did follow up. Reps and leads avoiding my questions and requests. They wasted over 30 mins of my time. Not respecting my time and making it completely inconvenient for me. They completely avoided my question qnd redused to transfer me to a manager to file my complaint. Horrible service/services offered are not available. I have not received my new TCF bank card in over 1 month. I called to report this 6 times already, and still have not heard back about my card whereabout. The only thing I am getying is excuses. Ridiculous. Rep told me it would take 1-2...then 2-4...days for my card to arrive. It is now past 4 days and it still has not arrived. Again, ridiculous! WHERE IS MY CARD?????????
