On 7/26/2024, I noticed two charges on my credit card. I immediately filled out the dispute form online. Both charges were from the same merchant with whom I had never had dealings. One charge was on 7/5/24 for $5.99 and the other for $49.99. SSFCU did credit my account for the $5.99 but not the $49.99. On 8/9/2024, I sent an email inquiring about the status because, at that time, my only interaction was by email. A David M reached back to me, saying they were working on it. However, he mentioned I could call if I had any questions. So today, 8/12/24, I called on the phone. The first time I was on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes, only to be told what the reason for my call was and that they had put in all the information. Well, no you didn't because I did all the paperwork on 7/26/24 online, and one credit was given. I put both claims on one form. I was told I needed to be patient. The customer service representative had a horrible attitude.
I decided to call back. This time I was told the case was closed. I had just got off the phone with a team member. This time I was told that on both of the dates of the charges, I called the bank and said I made the charges. I told them they had never spoken with me until today, and that I needed proof of this. My question was, first, why would I call you to tell you I used my credit card which I am authorized to use? The only time you want to hear from me is when I can't make my payment. I don't need permission to use my credit card on which you are going to charge me interest. So, after two and a half weeks, the card is just now being canceled. I've been with SSFCU for over 20 years and definitely will be leaving them once this is resolved. Worst bank, member service. No sense of urgency. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Goodbye SSFCU. Hello USAA.

Recently, I went to the SSFCU branch office in Schertz to report suspected fraudulent activity on my credit card. Fortunately, I was directed to Ms. Brooke Melendez, who went above and beyond to fix the problem. She reviewed my credit purchases, canceled the card that was compromised, and issued a new card, all within 20 minutes; this allowed instant access to my new card instead of having to wait a week for the new one to arrive via mail service.
While in her office, some information about an extended car warranty program caught my eye. After taking time to research other extended warranty programs, I made an appointment with Ms. Melendez to enroll in the one offered by SSFCU. She described the warranty program in depth to make certain I was fully aware of the nuts and bolts of the program before I signed the contract. In short, she took care of everything expeditiously and professionally.
I have been banking at this branch office for several years and I couldn't be more pleased with the customer service offered by Ms. Melendez and her other colleagues at this SSFCU office.

Disputing credit cards with these people are a nightmare. If you ever run into the problem of not getting services meet and scammed, trying to dispute these charges more than likely they will always side with the scammers. I’ve never had not one dispute taken care of because they always close the case out with some bogus excuse. I’ve had two credit cards closed out because of this and had my credit damaged because of it. Mastercard is the worst

Wanda approved me for a credit card and said just submit your documents. So I ran around to submit every document she requested just for her to turn around and decline me once I submitted everything she asked proving everything I put on my application AFTER APPROVING ME for $5000 there are much better credit unions out there such as RBFCU or Navy Federal. This is by the worst experience with a credit union I have had. Going to close my account tomorrow steer clear they suck.

Great card with a very good rate for a credit card! I’ve been with SSFCU for more than 4 years now without any issues. They offer a myriad of financial services at very competitive rates. Conveniently located throughout the Denver Metro area makes banking with them attractive. Keep up the good work!

Excellent credit card for international travel and regular purchases. Great interest rate (<12%) for a travel credit card with many perks. Great credit line. No foreign txn fees. Miles or points towards shopping or statement credit. Concierge services. After my AMEX CC's it's my go-to CC. Only drawback is their mobile app. It lacks needed information and you must go to the main website. Highly recommend for persons with FICO in the 800's
